There was silence for a bit then she would hear the doors hum and open. Once she was in if she did step through, the doors closed back and locked again.

Chris was sitting in the command chair looking at her. “I let you in because I think I belive you and if I’m wrong, Mwezi there will rip your arms out of their sockets. What is Sideman doing?”

Captain Chris Taggart and symbiote CO

Kanina nodded. She had achieved her goal, now to keep the deception up. He wasn’t alone in his mind, but she had absolutely no idea how to fix it. Why hadn’t she become a scientist? “He and the rest of the infected are heading to the science labs, although I have no idea why.” She sighed. “I haven’t had the chance to do my psychological evaluation of Lt. Cmdr. Sideman or I would have more precise information. My apologies, Captain.”
-Kanina Dran, CNS

At the mention of his name, Mwezi gave a convincing growl and stalked over to the door, then stalked back to the Captain to stand protectively over him.

Mwezi, CTO

“You didn’t do one on us either. And you don’t really know what he’s up to. We locked down all the doors so they can’t even get in there let alone to that level.” Then the symbiote just noticed something. “How did you manage to get here? How did you escape Sideman?”

Captain Chris Taggart and symbiote CO

“I’m actually a bit curious regarding that myself ” The familiar calm tones of the ships Science officer. He was standing behind the Helm console having made his way there a few minutes after the Tactical Chief, in his right hand a phaser pointed in the general direction of the Captain. He gave the Captain and Mwezi each a slight nod. “Last I saw you, Captain, you snuck out of Sickbay, Doctor Kane was worried about ye” He said calmly not lowering his weapon.

CSO,

Chris snapped his head around when he heard William start talking. Chris looked unhappy but let his Second Officer finish speaking. Once done he was going to retort but the counselor started talking.

OOC: Pasting in a split post.

Kanina answered without pausing. The benefits of knowing what question was going to be asked before it was. “I wasn’t in the transporter room yet. He had called me down, but something seemed off, so I waited outside. As soon as I heard where they were going, I ran straight here.” She stopped, weighing what to say next. “It’s my job to keep you informed of the mental status of your crew. All I can do is tell you of what I’ve observed.” Maybe if Mwezi stunned him… She was ready to declare him unfit for duty, so it wouldn’t really be mutiny. “I’m sorry I can’t help more.”
-Kanina Dran, CNS

“We’re sorry too” he breathed out to the Counselor and looked at William but addressed the room as a whole first. “We thought we gave strict order to protect and guard that hatch!” All while still looking at William. “What are you doing pointing that phaser at us Will? That’s not very logical for someone whom is smart as a Vulcan.”

“Mwezi. Take the phaser away from the Commander and place him under arrest and in binds. We will not tolerate this type of behavior Commander. Surrender peacefully or ...... well you have been warned. Now drop it!” He said in a commanding voice and his full attention was now focused on William.

Captain Chris Taggart and symbiote CO

Mwezi stepped slightly in William’s direction, then spoke something to the computer in his Native Language. A command phrase, which roughly translated to “Head compromised. Isolation maximum”. Hopefully his access to this particular system hadn’t been compromised.

If his access hadn’t been compromised, a level Alpha forcefield would erect itself around the Captain - and the parasite in control of him. Being the highest level of containment forcefield they had, he hoped it would contain a psychic parasite.

Mwezi’s access code worked. A containment field went up around the Captain. He looked around shocked. “What is the meaning of this? What happened?”

Mwezi, with two options for the GM to choose from.

Captain Chris Taggart and symbiote CO

“M’sorry Cap’n. ‘s fer yer own good,” Mwezi mumbled. “Captain Taggart would never shut down life support over the entire ship,” he looked to the crew on the bridge, and tugged his translation device out of his uniform, strapping it on and re-enabling it. “Will, please disarm everyone. Taggart is possessed by the same being that murdered our Helm officer earlier. I don’t know if our other Alien guests are to be trusted. Personally, I don’t trust any of them. Parasite, I will hear you out.” He turned towards the Captain. “What do you want? If it doesn’t cause more harm to help you, we will consider it.”

Mwezi, takin charge.

William nodded and looked around the crew “Please drop yer weapons immediately and step back from them, counselor Dran please gather up all armaments. This is a stun first ask later kind of day” He said in a calm manner. In the back of his mind he felt satisfaction and a slight relief that the Galdori officer had a plan of action in place, he was certain that even at this distance he would not have been able to take the Weapon Officer down before being taken down himself.

CSO, 2O

Kanina laughed slightly. She was already unarmed. A habit learned from a kleptomaniac patient with no sense of weapons safety. “I’m unarmed.” She sighed lightly. “Perhaps we ought to inform Lt. Cmdr. Sideman and see if we can resolve whatever going on between this parasite and our… guests.”
-Kanina Dran, CNS

Mwezi shook his head slightly. “I would like to hear our Parasite’s side of the story before allowing our other guests to join us,” Mwezi replied, looking with intensity at the Captain. “But do call Sideman. Let him know that the situation is under control, but ask him to take our guests up the long way.”

Mwezi, CTO

OOC: sorry I miswrote that was supposed to say gather not remove, I didn’t fix a rewrite.
Hjortur

The Captain looked at Mwezi with intensity. Although it wasn’t really the Captain doing it and let out a sigh. “I am from Kornear. (I made it up) in what is known as your Delta Quadrant. My race is tiny but powerful. We survive by living in hosts that we find compatible, whether that means by personality, blood type, will power, etc. If the host is not compatible when I leave them for one more suited, then they die.”

“I am much like your ally called The Trill but aquire hosts differently. Since I kill the hosts that I leave, not intentionally mind you, the beings on the ship have taken it upon themselves to eradicate my species. They are a form of interstellar bounty hunters called the Calmbac. They are our planets nearest neighbors and because of the proximity are more prone to being infected by us as they say. We do not kill on purpose, it is just a result of bad compatibility. I was trying to flee these beings when I ran into your ship and sensed you, since you’re of strong mind and will, but I couldn’t get to you so I chose your Captain. The other human that killed himself did so because the Calmbac had control of him and sought to have him kill me but I was in your Captain and not him.”

Symbiote

Mwezi gave the alien a slight nod, tilting his head as he listened to the story. “So, our Calmbac guests also have the ability to control beings. Your story lines up enough with the story they told, so I have no reason to doubt you. We can’t let you leave with Taggart, obviously. Are you able to travel in interstellar space without a host? If so, I could delay the Calmbac and keep them occupied until you are able to get sufficiently far away. As long as you promise not to possess any incompatible hosts on your way out.” He glanced around the bridge. “Do we have helm back?”

Mwezi, CTO

“Thank you. I am able to travel through space. I will leave you all now and leave your Captain. Take care. Be warned though, I may be gone but the Calmbac will still be here. You have my solemn oath that I will leave straight away. If your people are taken control of then it is by the Calmbac. And a word to the wise. Calmbac’s do not like intense light.” Captain Taggart’s symbiote said as he smiled and left. The Captain then fell to the ground in a heap and unconscious.

Mwezi exclaimed a phrase in his native language, lowering the shield around the Captain.

Helm looked at Mwezi. “We now have control of the ship sir.”

Symbiote

William blinked. “So after trying to kill the crew and failing he simply left.” He said with a confused expression. He looked into the port he came from at the Security NE who had escorted him “Come on up, help get the Captain to Sickbay” He turned to the Weapons officer “Mr. Mwezi, please find our guests, make sure they don’t cause any problems, they should still be in or around the Main Transporter room.” He then walked up to the Captain’s chair, flipped the comm switch [O]Bridge to Commander Sideman, the alien enti ty has seemingly left the Captain, he is being taken to Sickbay, new information has come to light regarding the Aliens now onboard. I have directed Leftenant Mwezi to meet with them, we should have more information soon. The Ship is back under our Command, for the moment[O]

CSO, 2O

OOC: Bolded area above was cut off by Mwezi’s interruption.

IC: Mwezi slammed his hand on the Comm to turn it off the moment William started to mention the alien. “We don’t explain. Weren’t you listening to the Kornearan? Didn’t you hear what I promised it? We don’t tell them the Kornearan has left the ship. It was scared, and hiding from hunters. I promised to mislead the Calmbac to give it time to escape. If you tell Sideman everything, the Aliens may overhear and that promise will be broken.”

He growled, then paced for a moment, then turned to Grey. “Now, this is what we do.” He stepped over to where the Captain had been before, and said his command phrase to put up a forcefield which could be disabled by the second Officer’s Security code. “You tell Sideman that the alien entity was in the Captain and left him for me the moment you got up here, and that before I was able to do anything, you were able to contain me in this forcefield and regain command of the ship. Then, we lure the Calmbac up here to interact with me, the fake Kornearan. If their intentions are peaceful and they don’t try to harm me, we let them know what has happened and explain what has happened. If they attempt to harm me, we proceed with an attack plan.”

Mwezi, CTO

OOC: Very good story you all!

Kanina nodded lightly and retreated back against the wall. “An excellent plan. We also may wish to be ambiguous about the Captain’s current state, that is whether he is dead or alive. We will, after all, be implying the two were incompatible.”
-Kanina Dran, CNS

William seemed startled for a moment when the Galdori slammed on the comms console but quickly regained his composure. When the Weapons Officer had finally finished his explanation William took a step forward, he had holstered his weapon as it was mostly a cosmetic tool for him. “Yes, lieutenant” He answered coldly “I recall the promise you gave an alien entity that until recently had compromised your Captain, assumed control of a Starfleet Battlecruiser, and disabled life support in what seemed to be an attempt to disable or possibly kill the crew”

A NE Helmsman Johnson spoke up. “Commander Grey. The symbiote as we call it was not trying to kill the crew, just the Calmbac. He tried to keep the Calmbac from infecting other members on this ship. That symbiote had a soothing effect on us. Now it could just be a pheromone thing or something akin to when a tick bites into you and you can’t feel it because it numbed the area. But I agree with the CoS. I don’t think it meant actual harm to us but tried to protect us the best way that it could. Which to it meant killing us all to spare us.”

His voice was calm but he was speaking slower than normal, not in the way he derogatorily would explain complex scientific theories to his crewmates but more so to put emphasis in his words “I also recall Commander Sideman leaving the transporter room to assist in taking control of the ship, a feat not possible from the Transporter room.” Although he was a good ten centimeters shorter than Mwezi he still somehow managed to look him in the eyes without looking like he was craning his neck “And personal promises do not outweigh your duties as a Starfleet Officer” He paused for a moment then resumed this time in a faster tempo “Consider for a moment your plan to bring potential threats to the Bridge, the bridge we just re-captured from another type of mind-controlling alien, putting more lives and the ship itself in Danger because you promised a stranger help having perceived it like a wounded animal being hunted and not a fleeing criminal or anything else.” He put his hands behind his back “You wish to delay them, then let’s meet them in the Transporter room with a prepared security detachment and start a dialogue, if necessary you can rig the room lights to brighten with a certain phrase, but I will not risk the security of this Bridge” The last sentence was said in a voice of command, not long ago it would have been a laughable voice but he had gotten a lot of practice using it.

CSO, 2O

Mwezi let out a small smile and opened his mouth, but whatever he had been about to say was interrupted.

Another NE Science Officer spoke up by the name of NE Ensign Jules Gretchen. “I agree with Commander Grey!” She said. “He’s super smart and do not forget the fact that he IS the Second Officer of this ship and not the COS! That thing wanted to kill us. So far from any of my scans or reports, I haven’t seen the Melmacs or whatever you call them, do a darn thing to us. If you are with the COS then you are mutiny against this Ship and it’s Captain!”

NE’S/Storyteller

William was the first to turn around at his own officer and answer, and if said officer was expecting his usual calm stoic expression he was sorely mistaken, The look on the Science officers’ face was a mixture of incredulous, disgust, and overwhelming wrath. He took a half turn around, raised a single finger, and spoke loudly, his voice clearly directed only at the NE “Don’t you dare” He let the yell hang in the air for a moment before resuming in a more calm yet icy tone “Lieutenant Mwezi knows more about loyalty and honor and duty than you even comprehend existing, this is not ‘me-versus-him’, this is two senior officers discussing our course of action not a call to mutiny, now I think its time you remove yourself from the Bridge Ensign Gretchen” Why was it always his own staff, he was going to have a word with the Captain assuming they got out of this alive, about replacing some of them. He then turned back around “This is not about what one alien says about the other, about perceived or” He looked at the helm officer “felt feelings regarding this matter” He was now addressing the whole bridge “Whether it was a symbiote or a parasite is irrelevant, we must focus on the task at hand, getting the ship on the move and discovering the motives of our guests” He turned back to Mwezi “I apologize Lieutenant” He clenched his jaw “For that unnecessary display of emotion”

CSO, 2O

Kanina looked around the bridge calmly, before speaking up as well. “What if we compromise, and use a conference room.” She looked between the two men. “We plan to say the symbiote is now in Lieutenant Mwezi, which necessitates his continued presence on the bridge, but it’s also true that we probably don’t want more aliens up here. ” She also took a mental note to request ensign Gretchen for psychological evaluation.
-Kanina Dran, CNS

Mwezi nodded slightly, a crinkle in his eyes. “You bring up good points, Grey. Things I had not considered in my haste to prevent you from showing our hand too quickly. I am not only Chief of Security, I am the Chief Tactical Officer and in my moment of panic I had not considered that. I did consider suggesting we have our confrontation in the Brig, but thought the bridge would be hastier,” he tilted his head slightly in thought, then disabled the protective barrier he had enabled in order to pace back and forth, stopping in front of William to softly mutter, “It wasn’t a personal promise, by the way. That may have been the wrong phrasing. It was a professional guarantee. And if the Kornearan had betrayed my offer and continued to cause harm, we would have contained it again.”

He stepped away, then spoke louder. “If the Kornearan was a true criminal, the Calmbacs will prove that by their behaviour from here on in, and we will have ample opportunity to help them in their search. If I was true in my assessment and it is a wrongfully hunted person, then the Calmbacs should then also prove it in their behaviour and we can stop them causing further harm.”

Mwezi then turned to Kanina. “Now, what was that about meeting the Calmbacs in a conference room?”

Mwezi, CTO

William inclined his head, he realized a little too late that he had allowed his prejudice against the warrior types to cloud his understanding of the situation but he was pleased that Mwezi saw his way of thinking. He turned to the counselor “It’s not the worst idea, an enclosed space that can be sealed of in case of an emergency such as if they are capable of controlling minds of those in the room.” He looked at Mwezi “You were right to stop me from calling the Commander though and I thank you for that, my haste was that of following protocol. I think it best if we send a messenger to bring him up to speed then he can bring our guests to whichever location we decide upon”

CSO, 2O

Kanina nodded with a slight smile. “The conference room is neutral ground and easily defensible. We can claim that the Kornearean is quarantined elsewhere and can’t be moved, thus we don’t break any promises. And of course, we get to choose who they meet with, completely.” She had had time to think it over, and she didn’t think they should introduce more people than necessary.
-Kanina Dran, CNS

Mwezi nodded slightly. “Well, whatever the plan is, we should hurry and go ahead with it before anything else has a chance of happening. And notify the XO of something. I’m sure the interrupted comms message has got him worried. Should probably take care of that.”

Mwezi, CTO
