T’Aria departed Sickbay with a final farewell to the ship’s counsellor, taking a brief note of her list in her drift to the nearest turbolift. She’d boarded with a stringent plan designed for optimal efficiency. But on a ship full of emotional creatures - herself included - she quickly realised a schedule was little more than an inhibition.

Regarding her PaDD with a slight scoff, T’Aria clicked it and stepped into the ‘lift beside a young, red-shirted Ensign. “Afternoon,” she greeted with a curt nod.

“Afternoon, Commander.” He reciprocated and took a step back to allow space between them. “Where to?”

“The bridge.” She snaked her hands behind the small of her back in a gesture she’d manifested into a habit. Their ride was short, albeit quaint. She exchanged brief pleasantries with the Ensign - name, position, where he was from - and bade him farewell as soon as the doors peeled open and he disappeared down deck 4.

When she reached the bridge, she stepped out, and to conn officer, she asked plainly: “Permission to step onto the bridge?” It was a formal gesture, but she felt it was the barrier between life in medicine and life in command.

– T’Aria, incoming XO

Chris was standing by the Helm station going over a new course correction when he heard the voice and statement. He knew he was supposed to be getting a new XO and command did send the file on this person but he has never opened it because his attention was drawn to helping Mwezi and not being courtmartialed. The voice did sound somewhat familiar but he he could not place it. So many people have came and gone over the years that it makes for a melting pot of memories. “Permission Granted.” He said as he was still helping the Helm.

T’Aria rose a brow and stepped onto the bridge, surveying the crew. She drifted past the tactical and operation positions situated to either side of the Captain’s Chair and allowed her gaze to wander over their surrounding stations. Despite having spent several years as Chernov’s CMO, she hadn’t seen enough of the bridge to warrant memory. Eventually finding her way to the helm, she tilted her head and paused within a metre of Taggart. “What are you working on, sir?” She asked, in part compelled by curiosity.

– T’Aria, XO

Without looking back Chris responded. “There are some spacial anomalies on the way to our destination and one of them keeps disappearing and reappearing in random locations. It is not forming in the same place twice and despite watching it for 12 hours, we have only figured out that it is doing this in an area that is 10 light years across. We do not know what it is and such as heck do not want to run into it. So we are trying to devise a route that will hopefully make us miss it.” He stood up and turned around to face the person for the first time. while speaking. “So unless you have any clue........Oh my word! Wow!” He said very loudly and then hugged her. “What brings you back here?”
