OOC: It has been brought to my attention that I haven’t rewarded the crew since we have had back to back to back missions. I apologize.

IC: Chris was tossing and turning in his bed. He has had a lot of things on his mind for the past couple of years with almost being killed countless times and mission after mission after mission. He set up real quick and stayed thinking about the crew that he had lost over the years. Rubbing his eyes he looked up. “I’ve been a fool! The crew has been running on autopilot and needed not only some R&R but recognition is also what they needed.

In true Chris Taggart fashion he got dressed in his formal attire and went to the computer and sent out an all crew email stating for everyone to be at the ballroom at..... he looked over at the wall cron. “Great Scott! It’s 0300hrs! I need to get cracking!” Then he continued the email to be there at 0700hrs sharp.

Going over to his com station he flicked the switch. [O] Commander T’Aria! I need you to meet me in my Ready Room dressed to the nines and bring some of the NE Yoemen with you. We have a party to attend![O]

T’Aria’s gaze flickered from the worn, frayed fabric of an old book to the comm lodged against her wall. A sigh escaped her. She knew the hour was young and the Chernov somnolent beyond the subtle dissonance of a quiet shift. So, it was with mild surprise that T’Aria pulled herself from the floor and made a straightaway for her comm station.

Setting the book atop her desk, she lifted her finger to the switch, hesitated, then flicked it. [O]Noted, sir. I will see you shortly.[C] T’Aria lingered a second longer, mulling over the thought of this ‘party’, but she quickly dismissed it as another of Taggart’s quirks. She’d never known him a subtle man, nor anyone aboard Chernov for that matter.

Fifteen minutes afforded Taggart a buzz to his ready room door. When he answered, he’d find a pair who’d taken ‘dress to the nines’ with great stride.. and a Vulcan. If not for the distinct gold Favinit (a flower-like plant) pin fastened to her chest, she would’ve been imperceptible from everyone else.

“Captain,” T’Aria greeted with a quaint gesture to yeomen Symon and Abohl, “where do we begin?”

– T’Aria, XO

“Welcome” He said standing up. “I need Symon and Abohl to go to the ballroom and start setting up a promotion and award/medal ceremony. Be sure to get the refreshments and the like ready and plenty of coffee and tea since it will be early and they’ll likely be upset by the hour.”

Symon threw a glance at his Andorian companion and managed a slight nod. “Aye, sir. Should we enlist the steward and their staff to prepare appetisers along with the coffee and tea?” He wanted to be certain of what Taggart meant by ‘refreshments’ before embarking on this task.

“Yes. Get all the food you can prepare like pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, etc..”

“Commander and I will be here making out all the appropriate paperwork for promotions and medals and then meet you two there. Thank you all.”

“Aye, sir.” Symon and Abohl excused themselves to the corridor.

“Commander. Would you like some of your Vulcan tea before we get started?”

“It’s not my tea, Captain.” T’Aria hummed with slight, vaguely lighthearted sarcasm licking her tone. “But I would not be opposed.”

She found her way across the room and set her cap atop Taggart’s desk, turning to him with a subtle tilt of her head. “You mentioned promotions and awards,” she was not one to dally. “I cannot say I’ve been aboard long enough to ‘know’ the crew, better what behaviour may have warranted a promotion or medal. Could you explain as we fill out this paperwork?” She wasn’t asking to question Taggart’s decisions, rather understand why he chose to praise them and what he looked for in his crew, so she might appreciate them in a new light.

– T’Aria, XO

Chris laughed and poured her tea and gave it to her, then poured him some coffee and put cream and sugar in it and sat down. “Always exact with Vulcans. But to answer your question we will be promoting Lt JG Brigette Marshall to full Lieutenant. I really want to promote Ensign Alex Blaze but given recent events, I can’t. Starfleet medals for Bravery will be going to Commander Grey, Lt’s Kane, Mwezi and Marshall as well as Ensign Blaze and Valharra. Kane and Mwezi will actually be receiving two of these medals so we will need a cluster device for them as well.” He took a couple sips of his coffee.
