Jordan was still reeling from the excitement of officially reporting to his department head for the very first time, and now found himself entering another of the vital parts of the Chernov, Sickbay. It was bright, and shiny, and immaculately clean, just as one would expect a sickbay on such a ship to be. He looked around while he waited to see someone else. It didn’t take long before a nurse caught sight of him and approached.
“Can I help you, Ensign…” he asked, his demeanor cool, and professional, a slight smile on his face.
“Ensign Garza,” Jordan replied, returning the smile with one of his own. “I just beamed aboard, looking to get my boarding physical done.”
“Absolutely. Take a seat on a bed, I’ll go let the CMO know you are here. I believe he’s available right now,” the nurse replied, and then strode purposefully back into the sickbay in search of the doctor.
Jordan moved over to the nearest bed, and hopped up onto it, his legs dangling well above the floor. Unlike most doctors didn’t bother him, probably from all the physicals he had to have in school when he was on the wrestling team or playing baseball. When he saw the ship’s chief medical officer approaching, he favored him with a vibrant smile, until his brain caught up to the fact that the man walking towards him was a Vulcan and the gesture would likely be completely wasted on him.
“Greetings, Doctor,” he said, raising his hand in the Vulcan salute. Sometimes having a Vulcan roommate at the academy was awful, but it had its perks as well. Like learning culturally appropriate ways to interact.
