Mwezi shoved the Vamp down and leaped clear, hoping Marshall was good at aiming. Just in case, he reached for his Phaser, pointing and firing it at full power at the… Alien?

Mwezi, CTO

Bridie shot and aimed for the largest target, the torso starting to rise up. At this range, hitting it wouldn’t be a problem. She just hoped it killed him.

Once the shot was released, she took a heartbeat to glance around for the Captain. “TAGGART!” She hollered for him trying to get her bearings and where he was.

Kane came sprinting around the corner as the phaser went off and cussed. Seeing the… whatever it was, he decided all bets were off and drew his own phaser as well. Seeing the Engineer call for Taggart, he said “What happened? Where’d he go?!”

Kane, CMO

the Ensign Vulcan’s ears could not miss hearing the chief engineer take the shot, and yelling for the captain. He went running. He had his phaser rifle ready to fire depending on what the situation he was running into called for. He saw the thing she had shot and he trained his rifle on it in case it got back up.

Bridie glanced up at the gruff Medical Chief and shook her head. “I don’t know.. OK!?” She was growling because it was better than breaking down. “Last I saw, he was stabbed and a couple… whatever those were, took him. That,” she pointed to the thing near Mwezi’s feet, “had come after me. Something about draining me and not letting me go with the Captain.” She started to stand up and took a knee as her head swam a moment. Her eyes were still fixated on the monster she had shot. Her next words were almost like she was telling about a dream. “They are fast. And I mean really fast. No matter how fast you run, in five heartbeats, they are in front of you again. I turned and reversed my course after 4 heartbeats… it worked…” She wasn’t sure if it worked with them all. But it had worked with that one.

CE

Mwezi stood over the dead ‘vampire,’ growling slightly. “Where was the Captain last seen?” he asked Marshall, glancing over at Kane for only a moment before beginning to search the area for any sign of Chris.

Mwezi, CTO

Kane looked at Mwezi. “She said they took him. Can you track him? If he was stabbed, he’s bleeding. Find the blood, call me.” and he looked at the CE. “You are so gonna hate me.” Adrenaline counteracts shock, so… he slapped her. “FOCUS. Which way, Chief? WHICH. WAY?”

Kane, CMO

She blinked and her gaze went from ‘far away’ to ‘here and now’ in a blink. Two heartbeats later she dug her heels into the cobbles and shoved Kane for all she was worth. Her open palms slamming into his chest with all the strength she could muster, to shove him off balance. “DON’T!” She growled low and deep at him as she did it.

Breaths panting now in rage at the Doctor as well as the creatures, she shook her head at him as if daring him to touch her again. “If I KNEW I would have friggin told you. My guess is the opposite direction you all came from. I was a little busy with that.” She pointed to the creature at Mwezi’s feet.

“Where was he when you last saw him?” Mwezi growled, annoyed at the two bantering. He had to find the Captain. Taggart was the closest thing to a friend on this ship, the only one who treated him like one, at least. He sniffed around, searching for Taggart’s blood. His nose was good, so it shouldn’t be too difficult.

Mwezi

Blood was plentiful an in the location that Bridie pointed in anger as she kept half an eye on the CMO. She was gonna earn his respect and a decent tone from him someday. She had already promised herself that. But apparently it wasn’t starting today. “Over there. Just behind you.”

((with permission from CO who is on the road))

There was a pool of blood where Taggart had been stabbed. Enough lay in the pool to give rise to questions of his demise. But as the street ended, not too far from the city wall, so, too, did the blood. A feint smell of death, not unlike the creature Mwezi and Bridie had slain, could be smelled moving forward and over the wall. Easily picked up on the other side.

If one looked in that direction, there was a castle on a hill perhaps 3 to 5 miles away. Hard to tell with the terrain.

((per the standby GM/CO))

Kane watched Mwezi move around and sniff the air, and followed his gaze up and saw the castle. “Ok, Warren. Your call. We run, or we call the ship and have them transport us. Bit of surprise might be a good thing, though.”

Kane, CMO

Mwezi followed the trail of blood to the towns walls where the blood trail stopped and the blood droplets were smaller, either from lack of blood from its source or they took to the air. The castle and its giant Keep lay in the direction of the Captains blood.

Mwezi continued to basically ignore everyone else as he rushed and followed the trail. He saw the wall and growled slightly, looking around for either a gate or a way to climb over the wall. His Captain was in danger and he hadn’t been fast enough to protect him.

Mwezi, CTO

Kane cussed loudly and picked up a rock and threw it hard at Mwezi. “Focus, you dolt! Charging in blind is stupid!” and he dug into his pouch and grabbed his communicator. [O] Kane to Chernov. Fix on my position and scan for structure three to five miles in a … north-easterly direction. Lock on to myself, the CTO and Chief Engineer and transport us a hundred yards from any kind of gate or entrance you can find. [O]

Kane, CMO

Another thought occurred to him and he said [O] Chernov, can you get a lock on the Captain? If you can, beam him out now! [O]

Kane, CMO

[O] Chernov to Kane. We can place you in the heavy woods about 200 meters away from a raised drawbridge over a 30 meter wide moat. And we cannot local the Captains vital signs but we have a small energy output that might be some of his equipment in the dungeon three levels below the surface. Second door on the right as you get down the stairs. I will send you a map of what we can get from using sonar to your PaDD.[O]

Bridie got to her feet and brushed off her bottom. She didn’t want to be transported on her backside. Her legs were scraped and there was already dried blood in small patches. She rubbed the gravel and debris out of it and frowned. She was seriously looking forward to being back in her regular clothes. Next time, she would pick her own away outfit.

(OOC: on my last post, I fixed where I wrote I was a ferengi and corrected it to be a Vulcan. Not sure why I put that there.)

Ensign Valharra was still securing the area as they were trying to figure out where the captain was. If another creature showed up, like that they called a vampire, he wanted to be ready to protect them.
