Kane looked at the corpse, and shook his head. “Weapon was set to stain, but at point blank range and aimed right there it kill you. Syndicate assassins do that a lot to not make noise.” the tattooed medical officer replied nonchalantly. “Nothing to be done here.” and he motioned for the stretcher to be taken away.

Kane looked at Vulko. He motioned for security to get him on the biobed and walked over. “So why’d you give him the piece?” Kane activated the scanners, and started with a full scan before focusing on the man’s brain.

Kane, CMO

“I don’t know. I don’t even remember doing it.”

-Fate

OOC Just a note from a previous GM Post ” Peters pressed a button, turning the setting to kill. He raised the weapon and ended his life.”
Hjortur

Chris looked over at Vulko. “That’s not a good enough answer Ensign! Try again and try harder.”

Captain Chris Taggart CO

Kane whipped his head around and glared at Taggart. “One more word outta you, Taggert, and I’ll put you in a coma. Got it?” He slowly looked back at Vulko. “Whats the last thing you remember before Peters got your weapon, and the first thing you remember after that.” Kane watched the display as the scans monitored brain activity. If everything was normal, the hippocampus would stimulate as the memories were brought forth. But if the amygdala was involved, then that would be indicative of fear or suspicion, and that would be odd to say the least.

Kane, CMO

Vulk need a moment. “I remember… going to warp. Then Commander Sideman was yelling about something and Peters was on the floor.”

-Fate

William stood still as a statue as he watched Kane do his work, Vulk’s explanation was what he himself had heard about the events so there wasn’t anything to add as of yet.

CSO, 2O

OOC: GM, anything come of the scans?

There was an almost immeasurably small injury to the hippocampus. Attempting to find its origin would find another on the cerebellum.

-Fate

Bridie’s voice came over the comms just then. =^=All hands prepare for maintenance reboot. Emergency power on line in 3…2…1…=^= Because of the emergency backup, Medical would notice the shift in power from main to backup, but it remained functioning.

Chris blinked in surprise and finally heard what was going on. “Wait! Someone killed someone on the bridge?!”

Captain Chris Taggart CO

Kane looked at the scans and cussed loudly. Turning, he looked at Taggart and said “You can either be up and around and back on the job… or you can be convalescing. Pick one and pick it now. Because you are either going to help me figure this out or I’m dosing you with anesthizine and sticking you in an escape pod.”

Kane, CMO

William was standing still, suppressing the urge to either smile or frown “That would not be an advisable course of action doctor” He said the title with a slightly amused tone “Judging by your expletives I gather you’ve learned something from your scans.” He stated casually.

CSO, 2O

“Kane. If you need assistance I will do what I can. I’m not in the best condition but whatever I can do then I’ll do it.” He sat back down on the biobed and and tried to ponder what was going on.

Captain Chris Taggart CO

William looked at the Captain for a few moments “Hopefully we’ll be able to figure out what happened to our two bridge officers and see if it could happen again to someone else” He disliked being away from the Bridge for so long but his mind was more useful assisting the Doctor in finding out what happened.

CSO, 2O

“Look.” and he brought up the scan. Pointing at the two areas in question, he said “Injury of unknown origin here… and here.” and he pointed at an almost immeasurably small injury to the hippocampus and one in the cerebellum. He then brought up the last scan of the young officer. “Nothing here, and no record of any injury. Thoughts?”

Kane, CMO

Chris scratched at the beard he was growing. “Mmmmm. Could it be that we brought back something onto this ship from our last trip? A lot of strange things down there. I watched this movie called.......Alien. A face hugger of sorts latched itself onto the host and then it got inside the victim. Another movie, which I can’t think of the name right now but it had the Quaker Oats dude in it, where aliens got inside these people’s heads and latched on to the brain to control them. It might be something like that.”

He paused thinking about the voice he was hearing in his own head and hoping that he would not suffer their fate.

Captain Chris Taggart CO

William took a few steps forward to get a closer look at the scan results. He gave the captain a bemused look at his incessant archaic cultural references “I’m assuming you’ve found no evidence of surgery anywhere on the skull?” He didn’t wait for an answer “These injuries are so, well micro, It’ll be hard formulate a theory. But the location of the injuries can help guide us, motor function and memory” He said indicating each respective part of the brain “Some device, creature, or a method unknown to us took control over two officers on the bridge. Perhaps we should scan other members of the crew?” He asked the CMO

CSO, 2O

“I’m sorry William. Where did you get your medical degree from again? But I do like the scan the other crew idea. Do that. Let’s hope it’s a consistent procedure.” He laid back down and spoke to himself in his mind to the thing living inside. Looks like you are about to be found out. You can save yourself and others like you if you tell us what you want and or need?

Captain Chris Taggart CO

William turned tom the Captain “No medical degree as of yet but I am a Xenobiologist and comparative xenobiology is a speciality of mine, as are most things I study.” He said in a conversational tone “Although I have been considering delving deeper into the medicinal sciences.”

CSO, 2O

“Oh. Well. Good for you. Wait. What’s the status of the bridge right now?”

Captain Chris Taggart CO

“Cleanup and preparation for the retaking control of the Ship, XO is in charge with Mwezi” William said calmly, ignoring the moody Doctor to his side.

“Probably less crowded with degree comparing egg-heads than this place right now.” Kane mumbled. Looking at the scan closer, he scowled. A low growl came from him and he pointed back to Taggart. “Lay back. I wanna look at your brain. Grey, you too. No arguments.” and he began prepping the scans.

Kane, CMO

“I know you said no arguments but I don’t think that’s a good idea with me right now. And Kane. I mean it. For the good of the ship.” He didn’t know what he was saying and knew Kane would still do it but the voice in his head told him to not let anyone know he was there or people on the ship will die.

Captain Chris Taggart CO

William cocked his head at the Captain’s comment, what an odd thought. “Is such a detailed scan possible with a hand scanner?” He asked “Because if not then we’ll need to send the Bridge crew down here and more people.” He stood quietly and waited for the Doctor to finish the Captains test.
