A distress call came in …

The comms NE reported, “Sir, I am receiving a distress call approximately 130 billion kilometres away. A freighter is being attacked.”

The helm NE adds, “We can be there in less than five minutes at Warp 9, sir.”

GM

James was at the Tactical station at this time he felt like he was ready. He was hoping his department head will let him handle tactical during this time.

James Wolf (Security)

“Set course helm, set us to yellow alert.” Rivar said, readying the ship as they took off. He knew the command staff would come that were not already on the bridge once the alert went out. “Do we have any information on the attackers?”

Calin, CO

Not again, how many yellow alerts does that make it for this month? Jenkins thought as she finally made it to the bridge. “What have I missed?” she said.

The sensors were not giving a clear picture of the attacking ships. There were two of them. From the shape and the fact that a quantum singularity was detected led to only one conclusion …

GM

Tactical was having a hard time Identifying the attacking ships. James Tried Re Aline the targeting sensors with the long-distance sensors and got a clearer picture. ( Did I find out who is attacking?)

Ensign James Wolf (Security)

Morganna was on the Bridge and listening to the various questions and concerns “What about refining the sensors and narrowing the scanning band?” She asked, she was definitely not a security officer and knew the basics and wanted to be helpful.

CNS

The sensor information was not very revealing. Besides the quantum singularity detected in the ship, there were no other energy signatures to indicate its origin nor the registration of the ship. It was not that the database did not contain the registry number, but that there was no registry number detected. Weapons were of the disruptor type and there were only four plasma torpedoes detected on board.

GM

“What are we seeing?” Calin ordered, wanting to know what their sensors picked up.

Calin, CO

“Captain,” said Solark, “I read plasma torpedoes and an artificial quantum singularity drive. That would logically point to a Romulan ship. However, unless the Romulans have been constructing new covert ships, I cannot positively identify the ship as Roimulan because I cannot detect any registry signatures on the ship.”

Solark

Lissi had been on the way to the bridge to confirm some updates had made it that far when the alert was set. A sigh escaped her lips as the Engineering Chief stepped up to her station and took a seat, immediately punching up the specifics as she listened to the banter around her. She was checking out known Romulan ship registries to see if she could make signatures and maybe come up with a name. It was a long shot, and why she wasn’t saying anything, but if it worked…

As mentioned before: It was not that they could not identify the ship but that the ship did not emit any ship signature…

GM

“Is there any signs of life?” Calin asked, wondering if anything was even over there. They had sent a signal but it could have been too late by now.

“Open a signal, lets see what we can get.”

Calin, CO
