“Is there any signs of life?” Calin asked, wondering if anything was even over there. They had sent a signal but it could have been too late by now.

“Open a signal, lets see what we can get.”

Calin, CO

“There are about 10 life signs detected,” reported Solark.

The comms received a response. The attacking ship was willing to communicate but only via audio.

GM

Morganna opened her mind to see if she could determine what species was on the ship.

Kate entered the bridge clearly out of breath and mostly in uniform. She had been at the gym working on training the newest recruits on the ways the Odin handled emergencies. While the protocol was the same every ship had its nuances. Grabbing her uniform shirt she had run at a dead sprint to the turbo and headed for the bridge. Her pants were not regulation but they were black. She was in sneakers and not the standard issue back boots but no one looked at your feet except your date or other women. From the waist up she was in uniform. A little sweaty but this situation called for officers and not beauty queens. Stepping onto the bridge she saw Wolfe at tactical. He was a smart and capable officer and the ship was in good hands. Walking over to the console next to him ate brought herself up to speed reading the information available to her. Noticing that there were life signs about the ship in question Kate contacted the security staff and already was sending out orders. Some men were getting ready to deploy if needed. Some men were being sent to the transporter in case people were to beam in. The last set of men were headed down to the hangar. It might be overkill but depending on the Captain’s orders the security teams would already be prepped to follow them.

Lissi turned to face the main bridge, “We have audio… opening comms to receive only.” She tapped the appropriate keys and opened the comms so they could hear what was being transmitted but the other ship wouldn’t hear them till the commander wanted them to.

Kate was greeted with images of different species yet in one being that was predominantly Romulan.

GM

OOC: Uugh!!! I realised my mistake. Morganan opened her mind. The images were supposed to be in her mind. Kate would only pick up specific species, of which the majority are Romulan.

IC”

“Internal scans of the alien ship show the life forms are from a few different species but we have a hard confirmation that the people left are Romulan sir,” she said before Calin could contact the ship.

Lt. Kate O’Neill cos

“Open up a all frequencies.” Calin commanded as he stood up looking at the screen he didn’t expect to see anything but began speaking as soon as he got confirmation.

“Unknown vessel, I am Commodore Rivar Calin of the USS Odin of the United Federation of Planets. Do you need assistance? We are here to aid you as needed.”

Calin, CO

Lissi kept tapping at her console hoping that the video was coming and just not reaching them. She couldn’t coax it out of thin air, or rather ‘no air’ since there wasn’t any in space, but she was sure gonna try.

=/\= Federation ship, this is a personal matter between two ships. This freighter has something that I want and I am negotiating with the captain of the ship to acquire it.=/\= The language spoken was Romulan and the voice pattern was similar to Romulan speech.

GM

Like a tuna negotiates with a shark, Kate said to herself hearing the voice’s reply to the Captian.’s question This was why she would never be in the big seat. Her mouth would get her into trouble. There was no way she could not come back with a snarky retort if someone gave her one. Romulan Captain how about I pummel you with about half a dozen torpedos and then you can tell me how much fun your brand of negotiations are? This was all in her head of course but she wondered how the Romulan Captain might have acted if she said it.

Lt. Kate O’Neill COS

OOC: LOL!

Kenson

=/\= I would like the hear the same thing from the other ship if you wouldn’t mind Captain. No offense, but it doesn’t look like things are mutual here from where I am standing. =/\= Calin said as he narrowed his eyes a bit and thought about what was said. Their directive was not to mess with the dealings of other sovereign states, but this seemed to be something a bit more.

Calin, CO

=/\=This is not the business of the Federation. Go along quietly and I won’t punish you.=/\= the Romulan responded.

GM

It’s… These aren’t the ships you’re looking for. We can go about our business. Move along… move along, you moron, Kate silently played out a different version of the Romulan’s order in her head. Until the opposing Captian made an aggressive move there was not much she should do. Her men were in place and ready. Until they needed to be dealt with Kate would occupy her time playing out a version of the message where Calin took the Romulan Captian out at the knees.

Lt. Kate O’Neill COS

Solark started trying to trace the origin of the ship based on what sensors said about the age and the structure of the ship. Perhaps there was something in the LCARS that could help them.
