Like a tuna negotiates with a shark, Kate said to herself hearing the voice’s reply to the Captian.’s question This was why she would never be in the big seat. Her mouth would get her into trouble. There was no way she could not come back with a snarky retort if someone gave her one. Romulan Captain how about I pummel you with about half a dozen torpedos and then you can tell me how much fun your brand of negotiations are? This was all in her head of course but she wondered how the Romulan Captain might have acted if she said it.

Lt. Kate O’Neill COS

OOC: LOL!

Kenson

=/\= I would like the hear the same thing from the other ship if you wouldn’t mind Captain. No offense, but it doesn’t look like things are mutual here from where I am standing. =/\= Calin said as he narrowed his eyes a bit and thought about what was said. Their directive was not to mess with the dealings of other sovereign states, but this seemed to be something a bit more.

Calin, CO

=/\=This is not the business of the Federation. Go along quietly and I won’t punish you.=/\= the Romulan responded.

GM

It’s… These aren’t the ships you’re looking for. We can go about our business. Move along… move along, you moron, Kate silently played out a different version of the Romulan’s order in her head. Until the opposing Captian made an aggressive move there was not much she should do. Her men were in place and ready. Until they needed to be dealt with Kate would occupy her time playing out a version of the message where Calin took the Romulan Captian out at the knees.

Lt. Kate O’Neill COS

Solark started trying to trace the origin of the ship based on what sensors said about the age and the structure of the ship. Perhaps there was something in the LCARS that could help them.

Solark

Morganna listened and tried to assess the situation on the cargo ship as well to see if there were any sense of fear or concern. She could tell that the Romulan was very serious about the Odin not getting involved.

CNS

The Romulan ship began to fire a low level energy beam at the shields of the freighter and then within 10 seconds, the shields were deactivated and then something was transported from the freighter to the Romulan ship. Without warning, the Romulan ship went into cloak.

GM

Ah nutters why did ya have to go and do that Kate thought as she began to prep the weapons of the ship. They needed to be ready in case Calin was ready to knock that Romulan on his proverbial ass. I mean now we are gonna have to play hide and seek and when we find you it’s probably gonna result in us strangling you with that cloak of yours. “Scanning the area to see what kind of energy beam they used. Weapons are being primed. Torpedos ready to be loaded on your mark. Scanning area for signs of weapons signatures. Should we go to red alert?”

Lt. Kate O’Neill COS

Solark’s fingers then began to move over his console. “I am trying to locate the ship. Our LCARs could not identify the ship.”

Solark

Whilst they did not detect weapons at the moment, the computer was able to detect the Romulan ship moving away at an axis perpendicular to the Odin at that moment.

GM

Ka’Lissi had remained silent, her bottom lip trapped between her teeth as she kept her growl of indignation to herself.

Then everything happened at once and when the shop cloaked, she locked her sensors on it just in time to manage to keep a minimal reading on them. “Ship moving flat starboard, Sir. I’ve got a tentative track on it but I don’t know for how long. ” She didn’t even bother to look up from her console, feasting that even to blink would cost her their ability to track it.

As the trail grew longer, the Romulan ship suddenly decloaked and powered up its warp engines.

GM

“Sir, the Romulan ship is powering up engines. No indication weapons are coming online. I think they are about to go rabbit. Setting in a course to pursue,” Kate stated. Her comment was firm and authoritative but the last statement trailed of just enough she was waiting for the yay or nay from Calin. Times like this didn’t necessitate the niceties like Permission to follow the ship, Sir. That one sentence alone took three seconds for her to say and the captain to process extraneous words he already understood. She had been on his command team for a little over a year now. Calin knew Kate wouldn’t just bolt unless there was critical information like the warp core was about to explode and for some insane reason the captain wasn’t privy to. The three seconds she cut out in her response could mean a staying up with the Romulan or spending the next few hours playing intergalactic hide and seek. She waited with her finger poised about the console for Calin’s command about following or sitting tight.

Lt. Kate O’Neill COS

Lissi saw the ship reappear and cursed under her breath. A swiftly tapped message let engineering know that instant warp was about to be called. She knew the engines could handle it, but sometimes a heads up was appreciated. She had faith enough in her team in the bay that the warp core would do what was needed, up and above what the CO called for… well, as far as it was possible, anyway.
