Lieutenant Shrant sat at the controls of the small shuttle craft. The USS. Hoover had dropped him off a day ago and he had proceeded to find the USS. Odin on his own. Shrant’s thoughts had been dark and troublesome the entire trip. He wondered if his new Captain was aware of who he was and the circumstances of his demotion and transfer from his prior assignment. At least they had assigned him as the Chief Engineer and not put him on the worst assignment that they could. Watching the scanners he finally came within sensor and communications range of the Odin.

Tapping the console he opened the communications panel =/\= Lieutenant Shrant aboard the Shuttle Uror to USS. Odin, request permission to approach and board =/\=

=/\= Shuttle Uror, you are scheduled to dock in Shuttle Bay 2, follow the laid out course.=/\= Came the chipper voice of the docking control attendant, who transmitted the new flight path to Shrant.

NE Chipper

Shrant viewed the flight path quickly and responded =/\= USS. Odin, Shuttle Uror acknowledges =/\= Lieutenant Shrant tapped the flight controls and slowly began his approach to shuttle bay 2. The shuttle which was small and agile turned quickly and smoothly under his controls. Piloting small craft always gave Shrant a sort of pleasure. As Shrant approached the vessel he was able to see her lines and shapes. Looking at a ship and how it was built was almost as pleasant as what he assumed mating would be. Shrant could see that there were a few places on the hull that needed the rust buffed out, this was after all fairly normal, but he would have to ensure that it was fixed the next time they could afford to put someone on a deck walk. Slowly the shuttle entered the docking bay. Shrant brought the shuttle to a gentle thud on the deck as it landed. Shrant stood up and took a hold of he small bag. Besides uniforms he had very little in the way of effects. He stepped to the rear of the shuttle and opened the rear door. As the door opened the brighter lights overwhelmed his eyes. Making the opening door seem like a blast of light. Shrant slowly allowed his eyes to adjust, when they had adjusted he saw…

As the door opened Shrant would see two crewmen waiting, Crewmen First Class and a Ensign waiting to greet Shrant. The Ensign moved forward, she was young Bajoran girl.

“Lieutenant Shrant, I am Ensign Pol Najr. Please welcome to the USS Odin, Crewmen Fitz will take your luggage to your quarters our staff has prepared. If you want I can show you to the bridge if you wish.”

NE Pol

Lieutenant Shrant looked the Ensign over, “Very good Ensign, thank you. I only have two bags in the shuttle. I would like to meet with the Captain as soon as feasible.” Shrant followed the Ensign through the corridors and into the turbo lift. He closely paid attention to the doors and computer terminals as they moved. Most things on the ship appeared to be working without a problem. As the Turbo Lift came to a stop on the bridge Shrant stepped out and looked around. He did not appear to recognize anyone on the Bridge. Shrant Stepped into the Turbo Lift Door being careful to not step onto the bridge. He could see the Captain sitting in his chair on the bridge. “Captain, Lieutenant Shrant reporting and requesting permission to enter the bridge sir”

Rivar glanced up to see Shrant and nodded. “Lieutenant, pleasure to see you. I heard your shuttle should be in. Lets head to my ready room and I can bring you up to speed.” Rivar said as he stood up as he began to move off to the side expecting the lieutenant to come with him.

CO, Calin

Shrant fell in step behind the Captain “Aye sir, Thank you”, he followed him into the ready room glancing around the room to get a idea on the type of person and Captain this was. Alot could be told by the ready room of a CO.

Rivar entered and went towards his couch area as he entered. Cain seemed to have a lot of intricate relics and artwork, seeming to span dozens of generations all over his office. A sign perhaps of his symboite but also a reflection of him too. Sitting down he offered a hand to Shrant to take the seat across from him.

“Thank you Lieutenant for making it at such short notice, I know it wasn’t easy.” Calin said as he waited for the officer to take the seat.

Shrant nodded his head downward slightly, “It is my pleasure captain, I should be thanking you for taking me on as your Engineer. It will truly be a honor to serve on this ship sir.”

Shrant admired the artifacts that were layed out around the room. It seemed the Captain understood the importance of the past. The manner that everything was laid out, with such detail showed Shrant that the Captain had a strong attention to detail.

“Well you came highly recommended, and the ship is a large ship. I can’t go without a chief forever.” Calin said with a small smile as he settled down. “So tell me a little about yourself. I know your work history, but I enjoy learning from people… past childhood and so forth.”

Shrant’s antenna were straight up and down. “Thank you for the compliment Captain, I can’t wait to get to work sir.” Shrant Shifted “I grew up on Andor as you would imagine sir. I stated in the Defense Force, my father is a officer there. I worked as a fighter Pilot. I moved to Star Fleet to grow as a military officer. My family disowned me for it. I actually prefer to not speak of my family. I tend to follow the old ways and have never taken a mate, this means that I focus my life on duty and duty alone. My pleasure has always come from serving sir.”

“I have no problem with that, your duty is to the ship first so family, while important, is something to worry about at another time. What made you want the Odin? You had a few choices from what I saw, why us?” Calin asked him, wanting to find more out to see what kind of character his officer had.

Calin, CO

Shrant attempted be more personable and less military in nature. “Well sir, for one this is a amazing vessel. The Mythology class is a Engineers dream sir. I also did a lot of research into the prior missions that you have been on. There is a solid crew on this ship. I want to be part of a crew that can keep a ship moving the way it supposed to.” Shrant stood and walked to the view port. “Frankly sir, after what happened on the USS. Johnson sir.....”

As Shrant spoke his mind was thrown back to the last time he had seen the Johnson. The Johnson was a small Brazen class vessel. Shrant was the acting Chief Engineer on the vessel. The helmsman had failed to make a close sharp maneuver and struck a asteroid. The port nacelle had exploded. Shrant in a last ditch effort to save the vessel had went into space in a EV suit and attempted to repair a hole in the hull in order to restore plasma flow, Shrant had no idea what happened inside of the ship, a small blast propelled him off of the ship sending him into space, the Johnson exploded quickly after. By the time that Shrant was found he had minuets left of oxygen. The entire crew was lost on board.

“I was not sure any Captain would wish for me to serve under them again.” Shrant took a deep breath and turned back to the Captain, attempting to read his face.
