“I am attempting to divert power to sensors so that the range may be extended.

Solark

Silent and sure, Lissi’s fingers moved over her console helping Solark with the diversions by turning things down in places they weren’t needed. It wasn’t much, but every little bit helped.

Lissi

The scans of the freighter showed that the damage sustained could be repaired within a day. The freighter hailed the Odin.

GM

“What damage did that beam do to the freighter Morganna asked as she continued to keep her mind open.

CNS

OOC: I was waiting for CO to order the answering of the hail … :)

“Open the hail, lets see what they have to say.” Calin ordered as he waited to see what was coming.

IC:

Solark said, “The shields on the freighters are offline. There is damage to the hull but there was no breach. It would seem that the Romulan vessel had tried to open the cargo hold door but they were not able to. There is damage to the door mechanism, serious but reparable.”

GM

Calin, CO

=/\=Federation ship, this is the freighter Frieda. We thank you for saving us. Would you be able to help us with repairs?=/\=

GM

The Frieda was not badly damaged but needed help in repairs if she were to be at least ship worthy to the nearest starbase. However, the time taken to repair the freighter would mean that the Romulan ship would be too far out of reach.

GM

Calin grumbled to himself, he didn’t like this choice but their duty was clear to assist. They were not warriors trying to pick fights with any hostile aliens that came by and if a ship asked for help they had no choice.

=/\= We can help, transmit your damage report to us, I can send over teams to assist and if you would like I would love for you to come over we can discus our mutual friends here… I don’t feel like this is the last of them.”

Calin, CO

Morganna watched and listened and hoped that the Romulans wouldn’t come back, it seemed whatever the Romulans wanted, they would probably be back for it.

CNS

As the reports came in, it was evident that the only major repair was a hole, the size of a human person, on the hull. In the ship, the room that of a crew quarters was on the other side of the hole that the Odin saw on the freighter. The shields were down and that needed to be repaired of the freighter were to use the warp drive.

GM

=/\= Bridge to Engineering, prepare an away team to board the shuttle, you will be followed by security and medical to assist if there is any issues with the freighter.=/\= Calin gave the orders, and he sent the same commands to both Security and Medical the same message to prepare for the away mission.

OOC: James, Kate, Melissa and anyone who wants to be apart of the away mission can meet in a new thread. I will be bringing my Engineering and Medical officers to aid as well.

Calin, CO

OOC: do you want the CNS to go or remain on the odin?

Tyra

OOC: CNS can remain here, someone needs to main the bridge with me :P

~Steven
Morganna took a seat near Rivar “What do they have that the Romulans could possibly want so badly that they would attack. It’s also not like the Romulans to attack without intent to kill.” She said quietly.

CNS

“I am not sure, after they got splintered they became more dangerous. I am worried they might return…” Rivar said as he worried to himself what this implication might mean. Did they need resources? He couldn’t tell but he knew what they needed to do was stay vigilant as they aided the freighter.

Calin, CO

The sensors did not show anything for the moment but cloaked Romulans could be anywhere …

GM

Morganna watched the forward view screen “What about scanning for tachyon particles. If they return, perhaps we can ask if they require assistance.” She said “It is concerning that they are attacking civilian ships.”

CNS

When the away team returned, they were able to detect a very faint trail of tachyon particles. The resolution of the sensors prevented them from detecting the trail beyond one -tenth of a light year.

GM

Kate made her way to the bridge and her station. “We got the ship squared away. They can get back to the space station and make more extensive repairs if needed,” she reported to the captain.

“So did the scans find anything,” she asked the officer that had been manning her post when she was on her away mission.

“Sensors were able to detect a very faint trail of tachyon particles however, we can only detect them to one-tenth of a light-year. After that the trail goes cold,” he replied before moving to a new console.

Kate reviewed his notes and chewed her bottom lip. “Sir, may I suggest moving to the end of the trail and starting scans again. We have the general direction so let’s follow it as far as we can and go from there. Once there we can maybe extrapolate possible courses to find our Romulan ship.

Lt. Kate O’Neill COS

“We will follow, but I want to make certain this isn’t a trap. It feels, far too convenient.” Calin said as he looked over to his Chief. “Do you think you can narrow the field? I want to make certain this isn’t some ambush before I warp out of here.”

Calin, CO

OOC: Actually, I meant that the trail was so faint that the sensors could only pick up the trail up to a tenth of a light year away. It doesn’t mean that there is no trail beyond that. Something like having a low resolution binoculars. We can only see so far but if we move nearer, more would be revealed.

Kenson

“Sir I have been flushing out raccoons and white-tailed deer since I was six using nothing but broken leaves and poop. Well in the raccoon’s case it’s more of twinkie wrappers or jelly jars as the bread crumb trail but none of them have outsmarted me yet,” Kate said with her country twang seeping through a bit. “Set us loose and I will track it down.”

As the bridge crew waited for Calin to give a direction, one man had a question. “What the heck is a raccoon,” the Andorian helmsman said to the navigator sitting next to him barely above a whisper. Half the stuff she says at times,” the Andorian half glanced over his shoulder…Man, I ain’t got a clue.” His antenna swiveled slightly.

“It’s a big, hairy, seven-foot carnivore that attacks people for food. He lives in the woods of North America. He has a lot of different names but is highly elusive. There is an arctic version called a Yeti but that is only in a place called Tibet. I saw a holovid on it with Ric Erins. It was called the Masked Intruder of the Great Northwest,” the navigator said in a low tone waiting for the Captain to tell them to punch it.

Lt. Kate O’Neill COS

“No that’s not right, there… smaller I think… with poison barbed tails?” Calin said as he looked over at Kate, it was hard to guess from his face if his was serious or not but Ean sat back and looked at them all from his console like they had extra pair of heads. “Why are talking about woodland creatures? ” Ean asked with a perplexed look at them all.

“Ask the LT Zol, she seems to be the farm girl… I still wonder how Shaun got sucked into that world.” Calin said, it wasn’t uncommon knowledge of the two, and while they did have a mission it never hurt to have some levity in between to keep people loose and ready.

Calin/Zol

As they moved on the trail, the tachyon trails seemed slightly stronger. The ship was probably travelling faster than the Romulan ship.

GM

Morganna looked at the others on the Bridge “We had racoons in El Paso all the time. Masked bandits with a penchant for getting into trouble.” She said off handedly and then looked at Calin “I’m concerned about that Tachyon trail. That means that the Romulans are still in the area and they will return. We know that they are dogged if nothing else.” She said quietly.

CNS

“Agreed,” Kate said backing Morgana’s assessment. “I am scanning for and have found a stronger tachyon trail. Sending the information to helm.”

They were able to latch on the stronger trail. As the ship travelled for some minutes, they were able to locate the general source of the trail. They ended in an unidentified system several parsecs from the Cygnet system.

GM

“Report, what does the trail show?” Calin asked, he looked over to his science as he waited for an answer. He needed to know where they were before he let his ship go deeper.

Calin, CO

OOC: Who is on the bridge besides the CO at the moment?

GM

OOC: Kate, Morgana, Ean are all here.

~Steven
Morgana looked at the view screen and tried to sense what was going on in front of them. She did not want to completely open her mind to everything but she began reaching to see if there was anyone that needed help.

CNS

The NE on helm said, “Sir, sensors show that they have moved into an unidentified system; it has not yet been explored yet by Starfleet.”

GM

“Stellar cartography has placed us in an unidentified system several parsecs from the Cygnet system. I am searching the computer for any and all information about this area but as I said it is unidentified. I am also adjusting long-range sensors to make as wide a sweep as they can. If we get any pings it might give us some insight as to the area we are in or where the Romulan ship could be hiding,” Kate said.

Lt. Kate O’Neill COS

The sensor sweep indicated that the ship was indeed in that system as well as two other ships and some indication of manmade structures on one of the planets.

GM

Morganna looked at Calin “I don’t like this. It seems unusual.” She said “Why would the Romulans be coming here? Reinforcements?” She asked thoughtfully.

CNS

“Ms O’Neil, what do we have here? What kind of readings are you seeing on these ships?” Calin asked looking over at his Tacitcal officer, he needed more details as he had the back of mind begin to worry as he looked over at Morganna.

Calin, CO

The sensors at the Tactical station showed that there were two other ships with a warp drive. The ship they were chasing had a singularity drive.

GM

Bump for Kate.

After some 20 minutes, the sensors were able to obtain enough information to ascertain that the artificial structures were buildings that were partly above ground and partly below the ground level.

GM

“Sir the sensors are showing that the two ships on the scans have warp engine signatures. So they are either aquantances of our Romulan rabbit or they want to catch up with them too. Also,” Kate hit a few more buttons on the console and brought the information to main screen in a small corner. The surface of one planets appears to have some manmade structures. I am scanning for lie forms,” she replied hoping that maybe they could gleen some information based on a visual inspection of the buildings.

Lt. Kate O’Neill COS

Her scans showed that there were approximately 47 life signs. However, at the distance, there was no other details.

GM

“What do we got Lieutenant? What’s the word on the lifesigns?” Calin asked her.

Calin, CO

Morganna opened her mind to the 47 life signs to see if she could learn anything about them. She watched the forward view screen and the others on the bridge.

CNS

OOC: Please ignore my earlier post. Got it mixed up with another sim … sorry!! :(

There was a mix of different emotions: anxiety-fear, annoyance and indifference. Most were feeling annoyance rather than the other two. She did not sense that they were terrified of any danger, however.

GM

IC:

There were many individuals that she was not very familiar with. There were among the familiar ones: Orions, Cardassians, Andorians and Pellar Zel natives. Thrown into the mix were some individuals that she wasn’t able to read, that were most probably Ferengi.

GM

Zol looked at the readings at read back what he saw. This was certainly something new to say the least.

“Interesting… okay so what do you make of this Lieutenant Zol?” Calin asked as he looked over to the officer.

“Well… sir… I mean I am not sure exactly. I am not even sure who to hail here, who is in charge?” he offered with a shrug as he looked over to Lieutnenant O’Neill.

Calin, CO

Morganna looked at Calin “There are Orions, Cardassians, Andorians and Pellar Zel Natives.” She said “They have various emotions, anxiety, indifference, none seem to be afraid though.” She said giving a report on what she picked up empathically.

CNS

Solark turned and said, “It would seem that there is either a conference of some sort. 47 individuals with at least 5 races would seem to be quite a mix. I have not found any communique to show that there is a meeting of this sort …”

Solark

“Can we intercept any comm channels at all?” Calin asked, wondering if there was anything they could get before they even considered opening hailing frequencies.

Calin, CO

Solark tapped the display panels and after a few moments looked up. “A large proportion of the communications are encrypted and it would not be easy to decrypt the messages. However, they do have standard subspace channel communications. I believe that our comms could easily contact them. From what I can gather, they have not detected us yet.”

Solark

Morganna continued to keep probing the alien ship to see if she could gain any additional information about what was going on. She was surprised that they did not appear to be in distress. “Perhaps, Captain we are looking at this the wrong way.” She said “Maybe the ones that attacked are in the right, not what we are seeing.” She said thoughtfully.

CNS

Morgana suddenly sensed deception. At the same time, the Tactical panel detected two small fighter ships decloaking behind the Odin.

GM

“Sir we have two ships that have just decloaked,” Kate snapped out. “Scanning for weapons.”

Ensign Wolf just entered the bridge and went to a secondary tactical cancel “targets locked ready to fire phasers there hot and ready to go”

Ensign James Wolf (Security)

OOC: Just a clarification: Are we at yellow or red alert?

GM

OOC: I hard ordered us at yellow alert.

IC: “All halt, open hailing frequencies all channels.” Calin ordered as he saw the ship, his eyes widening as he felt a pit of worry in the gut of his stomach. Who were they and what did they want was all he could think as he waited to see what came back from them.

Calin, CO

A rather demure looking human face appeared on the view screen. =/\=Starfleet vessel, you are outside Federation territory and are considered trespassers. I hope you have a good reason for your transgression.=/\=

GM

Morganna shifted in her seat, and watched the person on the screen. She said nothing and waited for Calin to respond. She tried to read the woman in front her. She was on edge and concerned about what they were actually walking into.

CNS

For some reason, Morganna was not able to read the person. A familiar feeling came over her: Ferengi…

GM

So you own all the dead space from the edge of our border to yours but we don’t know your name and you are a smattering of races so how are we trespassing in what looks like to me a park or rebel base, Kate said to herself. The groupings of the people were odd. They were not the typical races you saw clump together based on ideologies which made Kate instantly lean to the rogue element side of the table. Still, she was not the captain of the Odin so she could not pose such questions yet unless they could be worked into the conversation.

Lt. Kate O’Neill COS

=/\= We had some ships under attack that lead us here, we mean not harm… we just are trying to investigate. You wouldn’t know anything about such an incident would you? =/\= Calin said as he looked straight at the screen, trying to gauge the woman as he wondered just how much he should be worried right now.

Calin, CO
