Wiz said, “It should not be a problem to tell you now that she has departed. She was berthed with its cloaking device on at the second platform above this planetoid, just a little ways from the starfleet ship. She would be quite a ways off.”

What Wiz did not know was that the ship was already boarded by the Odin’s boarding party.

GM

Lissi wasn’t aware the ship was already in the custody of the Odin as she tapped her comm badge. =^=Captain, we have a gentleman here who can tell us about the ship we got the tech signals from. He claims he’s lost contact with his Captain, but they were above the planet, cloaked. Request permission to offer asylum and perhaps help him with legit tech to replace the patched stuff he’s been rigging from scrap.=^=

Technically they weren’t giving them tech that was above and beyond their time, Wiz had already been making and using it and maintaining it. She hoped the Captain would realize that. And would also realize the kid was being helpful.

Wiz looked a little worried. “I didn’t say I wanted asylum …” he muttered.

GM

=/\= What are they needing?=/\= Calin responded, wanting to at least see what they were requesting first in hopes to think more. Giving away technology was seldom the way Starfleet worked but they needed the answers and they were running out of time.

As the Captain fell silent, Lissi smiled at Wiz. “When we say asylum, it’s more for a give and take prospective. If your Captain tried to take it out on you that we got info from you, we could protect you. But it also helps in case our leaders try and say you are a problem. By giving you asylum we can protect you from them to a certain extent as well. And it helps when it comes to giving you additional help. Like giving you things to help make your life easier.”

She smiled. It was a bit more complicated than that, but it was a start. “So what kinds of things would you like help with? You mentioned movers. Are there any other things you’ve built from the scraps of our tech that you use regularly? I can’t guarantee we get you everything, but the better the list, the better we have at finding things to help you with.” She wasn’t sure how much they could help. But at least the mover should be easy enough. She hoped…

“But the cap is a good man!” he wailed in dismay. “He won’t betray me. Are you telling me to betray him?!!”

GM

Wiz looked unsure. These people said they would help but they were asking him to betray someone he respected very much.

GM

Lissi couldn’t help it, she smiled brightly and shook her head biting back a laugh. “Ok, so this is why I am not a diplomat. No, Wiz. I would… we,” she motioned the others as well, “would never ask you to betray anyone or anything you didn’t want to. Let me try this again. I would love to help you. I want to give you some things that would allow you to help your people without having to pull from scraps and jury rigged technology. How’s that, instead?” She mentally shook her head and wondered how the Command staff did it. They always managed to be both diplomatic and persuasive as the same time.

“How are you going to do that?” Wiz asked. “You aren’t really friendly with the Romulans or Cardassians right? We come from all over!”

GM

Lissi laughed and shrugged. “We try and make friends with everyone, Wiz. I would even have a glass of ale with a Klingon Warrior as long as he wasn’t pointing a weapon at me. The fact you come from all over doesn’t mean you deserve less. It merely means we tolerate everyone till they give us a reason not to. So if your folks don’t fire upon us, it doesn’t matter, at least to me,” she glanced over her shoulder at the others to make sure they would agree, “where you all came from. We help who we can help.”

She smiled once more and held her hand out. “Are you willing to at least give me a try?” She didn’t expect the kid to take her hand and walk with her, but the gesture was made in the age old response of hoping they’d shake on an agreement.
