Lissi was stunned. It had taken less than ten minutes to get the team together and beam to the pirate ship. But already it was in dire straights. Shouting orders to everyone, the team of ten she brought with her broke off into predetermined pairs and got to work. Four went immediately to the engineering center to try and get things going. Two more were making a sweep of the ship to see who all was still on board. Four were scattering across the ‘bridge’ to different locations to get ship readings and begin shutting down non essential, or occupied, sections of the ship to save power.

Moving to the main engineering console on the bridge, she tried to bring up the specs and how bad the depletion was. She needed to know what it was going to take to get them across the Federation Line and into ‘safe space’.

The singularity engine was patched up such that it needed a fusion engine to keep it running optimally. The singularity engine was not offline yet but the ship could not warp off without exiting the ‘system’ that they were in. The fuel transported to the pirate ship was enough to get the ship outside the ‘system’, and then allow the singularity engine to ‘fire up’ in a stable environment to provide power.

The ship was made up of different parts from different ships (of different races and systems) and whilst it was not difficult to see what each part did, it was not easy to understand how the designer came up with such ways of getting the singularity engine running.

“Damn them for running… I hate pirates…” she muttered under her breath and waited for reports to come in for her to report back to the Captain with.

The crew at engineering reported that they would be able to stabilise the singularity for providing the power for warp once they completed the fuelling of the fusion engines. That would take about another 20 minutes. At the moment, the deuterium was being used to power up the impulse engines so that the ship could exit the ‘system’ they were in. At the same time, the crew asked if they could disconnect the cloaking device so that the energy it was using to be on standby could be used more efficiently for the engines. It would take another 20 minutes or so to bring the singularity engine up to optimal levels for warp travel.

On the bridge, the crew were rather taken with the way the consoles were reconfigured to fit the ship even though they were from different systems. Among the systems that they were able to work on were the comms, sensors, navigation and helm. The weapons console was a little more tricky as the controls were only colour coded and without text or diagrams to explain which weapons were managed by which set of controls. The last to report was the NE who was trying to figure out the console for engineering, which was also colour coded without text or diagram explanations.

The two NE sent to comb the ship reported that there were no one left on the ship.

GM

Lissi sent a comm to the Odin with the updates.

=^=Lissi to Odin, we’re looking at about 20 minutes till movability and another 20 once across the borders till we can warp safely. Most of what’s here is memory set. Meaning no labels. Request, while we’re filling up, that you set maximum shields and settle above us. I want to punch a few of these weapon buttons to see what they’ve got.=^= A soft laugh interjected. =^= And I’m hoping there isn’t a turret on to of us that can shoot straight up.=^=

She hoped the answer would be yes. Labeling the buttons and knowing how they could defend themselves would be handy in a pinch.

=/\=My suggestion Chief,=/\= replied Solark, =/\=is that you get outside the borders before you check out the weapons.=/\=

GM

Lissi suppressed her sigh. =^=Yes, Sir. We understand. But we are gonna want to try them as soon as we are clear. I don’t want to be playing punch the buttons Russian Roulette if a time comes we need to protect ourselves. Working on the rest now. Should be good to go in about fifteen more minutes.=^=

She laughed at the folks who were disappointed in not being able to push buttons. “Well, guys. You heard what he said. Sooner we are out of here, sooner we can play ‘what’s this button do?’.” She laughed and went back to making sure all was good and ready to go.

About fourteen minutes later, she reported to the Odin. =^=Odin, we are ready to follow you. Just don’t jump to warp for a bit longer and we should be good.=^= She laughed and moved to sit in the Command Chair of the pirate ship.

(big chair just to relax in … that’s all… promise giggles)

((not sure where to cross post this too… help?))

OOC: No problem. I will make the cross post.

IC: The ship cleared the system and it was okay to test weapons.

GM

OOC: I am keeping the thread alive until the new CO gives me the green light to start a new sim.
