Main Bridge: En Route to Tammoron Grain

O’Connor stepped from his Ready Room, a PADD in hand, and crossed to the Centre Chair. Without preamble, the Odin’s Commanding Officer softly cleared his throat and said flatly to the young woman sitting at the Helm station. “Ensign, lay in a course for Tammoron Grain… make your speed Warp 7.”

When she acknowledged the order, surprisingly quickly for such a junior officer, Garrett smiled softly and with a two-fingered gesture to the view screen… the Captain sent them on their next mission with the simple phrase. “Punch it”

“We going somewhere, Captain?” Mason asked. He was sitting in the XO’s seat and had nodded greeting as the CO walked in.

O’Connor chuckled softly as he sat “You could say that Commander.” As the flash of Warp lit the Bridge, Garrett turned to Black. “Fire Fighting trip… sorta speak. A colony on Tammoron has a bit of a labor dispute on their hands with the farmers and packaging people for Tammoron Grain. The head of the colony asked for the Federation to help cool things off…” The Captain paused for a brief moment before adding. “… from the sound of it, this mess could literally make the colony insolvent. So… Command decided we get to go 1930’s and play strike busters!” He laughed and waved his hand slightly. “Well… not /those/ kinda strike busters, but you get the point.”

Morganna stepped on the bridge and took her seat as the ship sped up, they were on a new mission. She knew that a senior staffing would be called shortly. She watched as the stars passed in a blur.

The ETA was about four hours from their point of departure.

Kate entered the bridge and moved to her station looking over all the information they had on the place they were heading. It was kind of exciting. It was the maiden voyage of the Odin with a new skipper at the helm. This mission would also give Kate a chance to see how he handled missions.

In the meantime, the Science NE had heard the name Tammoron and started to look up information from the computer regarding Tammoron. Tammoron was the original place where Tammoron grain, a prized ingredient of the cuisines of many systems was grown.

A moment after the initiation of warp speed, the NE at the engineering station glanced at the Captain. “Warp 7 achieved, Sir. Approximately four hours to destination. Engineering reports ship running at peak efficiency.” She turned back to the console and pressed a stray amber hair from her cheek where it had fallen out of her braid. The woman was slight in build and easily would have been passed over if not for the fire color of her hair and the striking crystalline blue eyes. As the bridge engineer for this shift, she was already looking into their destination, as well. Her curiosity was more to the location than the site, itself. Were they gravitational or meteor fields they would have to make adjustments for? Were they on their way to a system where binary suns or multiple moons would mess with gravity once relegated to impulse speed once more? And what kind of atmosphere did the place have? Such things would go towards information for transportation to the surface as well as communication issues. Anything she found useful, she forwarded to Lissi’s console in engineering.

“Thank you Ensign Johansen,” Mason acknowledged the report, then looked back at the CO. “We got a job?”

OOC: Sorry for the delay, work ate me alive the past few weeks. If you wanna strike this question as I answered it above, feel free. I just didn’t wanna strip it myself.

When the ship went into warp, Solark entered the bridge and took his place at Ops. Tammoron was supposed to be an idyllic colony according to what he had read before. He wondered why they were going there. Were there troubles with the shipments because of piracy? he wondered.

As they moved forward, Morganna pulled up what information she could on their destination, looking for clues about the culture and things that the crew might encounter while they were there. She knew that there would be a mission briefing at some point and they would get the details, but she wanted to have some basic information prior to going into the meeting so she could best advise the Captain and crew on how to navigate the culture and customs.

Marlin, like the rest, was pulling up info on their destination. She relayed what she found to engineering. She also started looking for the closest star bases, outposts, and friendly planets en route and nearby their final coordinates. Best to be prepared if they needed repairs right away .. Or the Calvary.

Kate was busy at her terminal multi-tasking. On one screen she was checking out the security reports for the planet and the sector to see if anyone was trying to be difficult. On the other terminal, she was looking up Tammoron Grain recipes. The stuff was hard to get in non-replicator form which was why coming here would be a boon. Christmas was coming and she was debating on what to make using the highly prized grain.

Garrett got up without preamble, took a few steps forward and turned to face the Bridge team. “Alright, button up things here with your Staff and I want Department Heads in the Ready Room in five minutes. I wanna get in front of this before we arrive.” Looking to Marlin, he added with a rather friendly smile. “Get the Chief up here too, if you wouldn’t mind. I’d like her thoughts too.”

OOC: Again, I am incredibly sorry for the vanishing act everyone. I put out over $2 million in projects in the last 30 days and it ate me for lunch! No that that’s done… let’s go have some fun!
