Wait… we haven’t logged you in? You know that is fairly standard… did you see the CMO?” Calin asked, wondering if this was the time to bring up such protocols, he could just override everything be he found her frustration a bit amusing.

Calin, CO

Lissi glanced at the CO, a look of embarrassment on her face. “No, Sir… I was told in the shuttle bay that something had occured. I figured I would be more useful here than sitting on a bed explaining I was fine, Sir.” She knew she had blown it and was about to be reprimanded right there on the bridge. Or worse, merely dismissed from duty.

CE

“Well, normally I would agree but let’s make some executive powers here for now… Computer Granted Lieutenant Ka’Lissi Rosh temporary access level 3 for 24 hours.” Calin said as he nodded at his Chief.

“See, now you have 24 hours to get in a bed and be probed by Chief Able, it’ll be fun, trust me.” He said with a smirk as he looked back to the main screen.

Calin, CO

Lissi blushed as the man ordered her to the biobed before tomorrow. “Yes, Sir… ” She turned back to the screen and laughed at his comment to ‘trust him’ about it being fun. “I doubt that,” she murmured under her breath and looked into the readiness of the ship from an engineering standpoint.

Solark looked back at the last exchange between the CE and CO. He would never be used to the irony and sarcasm in human exchange.

Morganna looked at Calin and smiled “She also needs to check in with me.” She said “But that can wait.” Morganna added and turned her attention back to the forward view screen.

Lissi bit her lip and nodded to the Counselor. “Yes, Ma’am…” it was polite, but the resignation that tinged the edges was still there. It wasn’t against the woman in particular. It was against having to get her head poked just to prove she was fit to work and fit to be around the Captain. Can’t have the crazies wandering the ship her mind whispered and laughed at her.

“At this rate, you might as well schedule new sessions for everyone… but before that let’s find out what we have going on with the away teams.” Pointing Lissi to get to one of the consoles, indicating he wanted a report in .

Calin, CO

Solark changed his consoles display to look at the situation of the away teams.

Solark

Lissi laughed slightly at the Captain’s comment. “Yes, Sir. I’ll see to it at the soonest, safest moment.” She then started checking on the away teams for him.

Morganna nodded “It wouldn’t hurt to have everyone come in for a visit.” She said as she stood up and moved to the back of the bridge. She needed to stand for a few moments. She worried about the away team, especially walking into a situation that might be less than welcoming. She looked at Calin and then back at the forward view screen.

Morganna looked at Calin “Captain, permission to leave the Bridge and get something to eat.” She said .

CNS

Nodding Calin turned back to Solark.

There was one team, with the two security officers near a very crowded place where the COS had communicated the presence of modified Starfleet equipment. There were also the other team who had seemed to have divided themselves into three ways. The CSO was near a farmhouse, one of the team was in a rural area that did not show many people around and the third was also in a crowded place that seemed to be a residential area.

GM

Lissi piped up a moment later with the team statuses. “Looks like everyone is all right, Sir. Just odd readings of the masses of occupation on the surface. And I believe we have transporter locks still on everyone.” She checked just to be sure.

Lissi
CE

“Alright, while we are up here, I want some more scans. Find out everything you can about this group. They claim to be mostly peaceful, and I don’t want to broach our promise but I don’t know how much I trust everyone down there. I don’t want our pants down when this whole thing blows up.”

Calin, CO

“Yes, Sir,” Lissi nodded and started adjusting the scans to look for major power sources or power fluctuations wherever they were. Finding them would probably be easy, discerning good from bad power wells was all together different.

Lissi
CE

From the ship’s sensors, the planet’s power sources were the large wind farm just a kilometre west from the furthest farm; the large solar facility powered the town. The most powerful sources were actually the floating ship docks in orbit round the planet. They had fusion energy as well as warp core power capabilities.

GM

A few moments later, the Chief shook her head. “I’m not seeing anything anomalous.” She sounded upset and disappointed. She had hoped to find an answer rather than everyone down on the surface trying to figure it out.

Lissi
CE

“I concur,” replied Solark as he looked up from his display. “Everything seems as it should.”

Solark

“Well… maybe then we need to dig into the history. Find out what you can about the people we know, the ships, and their past. I don’t plan to go chasing phantoms, but there has to be something about these people. How can they just hide out here without any knowledge from Starfleet? How are we the first here?” Calin said as he looked over at Solark. “Does that not strike you odd to find such a large group gathering and we are just now hearing about it? Space may be huge… but with sensors and traffic it’s hard to imagine no one of our people or allies have even word of anyone here. I don’t trust secrets.”

Calin, CO

Lissi mused out loud. “Perhaps it just happened. No one had a chance to get a message out. And if they weren’t overdue for a check-in…” she let the thought trail off. There were a million reasons they were first and no one knew. But like everything else so far, it was just guesses. She started to scan the surrounding space to see if she could find the next closest ship, friend or foe. Maybe they would have an idea if they were close enough.

Lissi
CE

“This part of space has not been explored yet,” said Solark. “We are aware, from long range surveys from three decades ago that there is a star system here. However, it was considered too remote. Yet it is strange that we were not able to detect the colony until we were relatively close to it.”

Solark then did some more digging and said, “Sensors do detect possible jamming devices that might mask the presence of the colony from long range sensors. However, they are offline at the moment.”

“Odd… that doesn’t prove guilt… but it isn’t something you usually find in places that have nothing to hide. Lets see what else we might find.”

Solark

Lissi frowned. “If they are offline, maybe I can tap into them?” She tried again. This time trying to find some remote access link that would give her a way to tap into the programming of the jammers and see if there was a recognizable signature to them that may explain ‘who’ would build the jamming devices.

Lissi
CE

OOC: We are already in the colony.

GM

((my bad, thought still heading there or in orbit, missed that.. amended post))

“I can assume it’s for raiders and others, but maybe go ahead and see if there is some bigger fish out here.” Calin ordered her.

Calin, CO

“Sir,” said Solark, “I believe we are being scanned, passively. It’s like what the ancient use of pinhole cameras. Rather than flooding us with particles to reveal our ship, they are making use of the surrounding radiation as well as those emitted by our ship to create a ‘picture’ of our ship.”
