“If I can help,” the man replied, “I will answer your questions.” The man did not smile but Ari could clearly see emotions pass through his face. He was definitely not Vulcan but the ridges on the forehead that was characteristic of the Romans were not as pronounced.

OOC: The word was supposed to be Romulans. I guess spell checker did the damage.

IC:

“Alright let’s start with the basis..” the Lieutenant resumed “uhm, let’s see, so wow this place is beautiful but may I know when have you settled here? Also if you have ever noticed something weird happening on this town. I don’t know, some sort of black marketing, science experiments, plasma balls?” Ari was pretty much confused of what to ask.

The man’s face darkened a little. “I settled here 20 years ago. This is an independent colony. Where the market is concerned, there is only one rule: If it brings trouble for the colony, it should not be marketed. As to the other things you mentioned, There are inventors in the town, there will always be science experiments there. I have not seen any warbirds the whole time I am on this farm. I have not seen any plasma weapons or ammunition.”

As the Man said said things, Ari noticed the changing face of his and got an eyebrow up “20 Years, right?” he repeated looking at the dude “You don’t mind if I do a control nearby your properties? It will be quick…” Ari asked taking the tricorder, and preparing mentally to take the phaser as he was not sure to be safe there.
For some reason, something smelled bad for the Lieutenant and had difficulty to believe 100% the colonist.

The man lifted his arms in a gesture of helplessness. He had not given his answer and the Starfleet officer had begun to scan his farm.

Ari found that there were two other people on the farm, they were in the house. Both were female and one was the size of a pre-teen humanoid. The scans showed that it was a normal farm except in one corner of the house there was a considerable store of isolinear chips. There were at least 70 of them.

“Uh. What we got here…” Ari gently asked to enter the man’s house “what about these chips? Oh hi! They are your daughters?” He asked to the man as he looked and took one of the chips “sorry if I am that invasive but protocols dictates that I must recover as much datas as possible. It will not take a lot if you collaborate.” The CSO apologized

“I am afraid that that is my private property. The Federation does not have jurisdiction over the colony and you have no right to confiscate anything from my land. I have extended you the courtesy to come onto my property as a guest but I can expel you if I so desire. It is within my rights as a member of this colony,” said the man turning slightly green.

Ari was amused by the farmer’s behavior. Why did he turned greenish? Why he was trying to hide to chips. He was determined to know the content, still respecting the protocols “I know, sir. I am not here indeed to confiscate anything. Can I just know what those isolinear chips do? I will try to believe what you will say… nothing else. If they contain harmless things then why don’t you tell me?”
The Officer crossed his arms.

“They are my personal records from before I arrived here. They are my private property,” snapped the man. The greenish blue flush became rather apparent now.

The greenish blue made Ari tremble of terror ‘what should that mean…’ he wondered.

OOC: The blood of Romulans and Vulcans are blue …

IC:

“Right… I am done here, I’ll be returning in the city.” He looked at the man one last time.
He was weird, and his behavior was weird. What should he have done there? Keep insisting or just keep the promise to leave the farm?
Ari was just confused, and his curiosity about the chips grew bigger and bigger.

“If you may indicate me the way?” The officer asked with diffidence.

“Just turn back the way you came and walk all the way!” the Romulan man cried,

Returning to the market, Ari made somewhat a long walk, thinking about those Isolinear chips. It was curious but maybe the dude was saying the truth Dammit! he thought Nothing suspicious.
Then, arrived at the market, the Officer found Ollie, who was there waiting…
“Hey! NE Ollie… Found anything interesting?” Asked to the lost sheep
“To be honest?” He asked the NE “People here are sort of dumb morons. No nothing weird or out of place. Just mean souls.” He still angered.

Now only Chase was missing and he didn’t even thought about worrying for the officer still wandering in the open.

“Now that is down right rude!” the woman said indignantly. ‘I am probably just a few years older than you. Remind you of your mother! I have a mind to leave you here … Then she paused, as if thinking about something, “If I help you out, could you help me move a few things?”

“Ahahah…” Chase giggled nervously “Sorry, it is just… your face.” He looked over the girl background blushing of embarrassment “So let me think… what kind of things? I mean I would certainly love to help ya but uhm… not stuck here.” He asked and said with a smiling face, still a bit suffering for the intense odor.

“I need to move some equipment from the field to the barn. We have finished our harvest and we need to start maintaining the equipment for the next planting season. If you are helpful, I will help you out of there and even let you have a good bath,” she quipped.

“Ah darn it! Okey, just get me out of this smelly bath.” As he leaned his hand to the girl, he waited her to grab it and pull him out. ‘I should really trust her?’ Chase wondered in his head.

The woman chuckled as she grasped Chase’s hand with her left hand and the right arm round a nearby tree. “Relax,” she said calmly, “I don’t wanna get pulled in by you.” She anchored one foot steadily on the ground as she started pulling Chase out …

As Chase walked away the lurid and putrid bath, he finally sighed of relief “Thanks!” He smiled looking horrified his pants dirty pants “I guess these will be needing to be thrown away. Ugh… right, again thanks. So where’s this farm?” He asked impatiently for the bath.

“No, no, no,” said the woman. “As good looking as you are, I am not having you move equipment without your clothes. Follow me and let’s get the work done before I give you that bath …”

Chase nodded, and silently followed the girl. To be honest? He was nervous at the idea of following a stranger. But the bath proposed and the new clothes were a good way to convince someone to follow even the strangest person in the world… well maybe not everyone, but why have fear of a young woman?
“So… is this place, far?” He shyly asked.
