=/\=Royce here, we’re on our way, Cmdr Harn.=/\=

The first officer then called the CAG: =^=Olinski to Ricochet, you have permission to conduct an aerial reconnaissance of the planet below. Find out what’s going on down there and what they’re trying to hide.=^=

And finally he spoke to the tactical officer. “You may launch the probe at your earliest convenience, Mister Ch’zaolrirh.”

Ch’zaolrirh’s hand slid around the interface of his terminal for a moment and the probe was on its way. “Aye Sir, probe is underway.”

COS

Jason Harn, XO, leaving spaces between my orders so that other players can easily insert their acknowledgements without difficulty

CSO

OOC: Is this the probe that would be the transporter repeater?

Kenson (GM)

OOC: Yes - COS Ch’zaolrirh

The Captain awaited the results of the recon and the probe.

Parker CO

The probe was able to ascertain that there were equipment under the surface of the planet. At the same time, there seemed to be several microwave transmitters on the surface and that there were electromagnetic waves around the planet surface and also beneath it.

GM

Things got a little more complicated when Ael Khev’s voice came over the comms. =/\=Olinski, this is Apex. We have a Starfleet combadge on the planet. Ricochet is trying to contact it. I’m transmitting everything I have on it now.=/\= Data came in from the fighter, all the information Apex had.

-Lt(j.g.) Ael Khev, Apex

“We have detected subsurface Machinery inconsistent with our knowledge of the population , I have bio-signs but they are indistinct and I haven’t been able to get a racial identification. Multiple microwave projectors on the surface… I’m plotting the locations and sending the to tactical.”

Kolar tilted his head. “The microwaves might be a weapon designed off the natural high microwave and electromagnetic fields present in the planet. It could also be used for concealment.”

Kolar CSO

“I don’t think a landing party would be the best option, especially with these microwave projectors active.” The Counselor stated. The Lieutenant had a basic idea of tactics and engineering. If these projectors would be used for concealment, a landing party could definitely transport into an ambush.

CNS

The bridge began receiving additional information from the fighter wing. The COS was particularly interested in the comm badge they had located. He attempted to corroborate its location with the Olinski’s scanners. He was hoping that the badge hadn’t been removed and was still on a life form, preferably on a member of star-fleet.

COS Ch’zaolrirh

“Lets make contact with the Dragoon crew the priority. Where are we on that combadge signal?” The Captain asked.

“Commander Harn I dont see how we cannot send an away team. Do you have any other suggestions?” The Captain agreed with Michaels but at this point it seemed impossible not to put boots on the ground.

Parker CO

“I’m thinking that I better lead the away team myself,” Jason admitted. “We don’t know if this is a first contact situation or not, but it certainly is a rescue. Either way we need an officer with experience down there.” He didn’t say that the senior officer could be Jason OR Sidney. If Captain Parker wanted to go down, that was Sidney’s call. “We don’t know what we’re going to face down there so I recommend Mister Balfor and Mister Ch’zaolrirh. And I think we should take Gould. We don’t know how advanced the emitters are down there so I want the officer who has the most practical knowledge when it comes to technology with us.”

OOC: This lineup can be easily changed, so if you want your character to go (or don’t want your character to go) on the mission, let me know. For example, we don’t know what kind of shape the Dragoon’s crew are in, should we take Doctor Royce? Does a fighter pilot need away team experience in order to qualify for a promotion? Is Ray Branch no longer working a 50 hour work week and has time for Trevor to beam down? Let Sid and I know.

Jason Harn, XO

“Ok Commander. You go with Kolar and Chi. Take Royce with you when she is done with Lt. Primage. We will keep the pilots in the atmosphere above for overwatch protection.” He ordered.

“Aye-aye Captain,” Jason said as he rose from the XO’s chair. =^=Harn to Royce, we’re going an away team mission. Meet us in transporter room three at your earliest convenience.=^= he announced as he tapped his combadge.

=/\=Understood, Cmdr. I’m on my way.=/\= Bennie responded.

—Royce, CMO

=^=Parker to Cag. Were going to be sending a team down. Your job is to stay in those skies and tell us what you see and protect them from the air if possible.=^=

“You think we are going to need fighter support? Reassuring.”

=^= Captain to CE Gould. Get a team ready to board the Dragoon. I want to know what shape she is in and if she can be useful to us.=^=

=/\=Yes sir. I’ll have a team ready ASAP.=/\= Gould replied.

Lt Michael Gould, CE

“Lt. Michaels your on the Away Team. They will need someone who can read between the lines here and reassure people were not the bad guys.” He added.

Parker CO

Kolar waited until the relief officer took the station before he headed to the transporter room.

Balfor Kolar CSO

Jason paused at the turbolift doors to allow Kolar to catch up with him, and then they left the bridge together.

Jason Harn, XO Exit stage right.

Ch’zaolrirh left his station shortly after Kolar and Jason. He gave the relief officer a nod and muttered some instruction to him before heading to the turbolift.

COS Ch’zaolrirh

The Captain always worried when he sent his people into harms way. Especially when they were friends and ones he needed and trusted. He knew the answers were not going to be had with them all sitting on the ship. He could only hope to give them all the advantages he could but in the end it might not be enough. He hoped that the answers to this mystery would end up being peaceful ones but with a whole starships crew missing he knew this was serious and he planned on doing what ever necessary to get them back if possible.

Parker CO

“I’m afraid the answers are down there.” Sid said out loud but to no one in particular.
