Bennie popped through the doors as the conversation was going on. She was in a standard uniform with a standard med kit in one hand. “Sorry if I made everyone wait. I was actually attending to something else when the call came through.” She saw that everyone was armed and had the usual internal argument with herself about taking a phaser. She was sworn to save lives, not take them. But what if the situation could be turned with the addition of ‘her’ phaser?

Reluctantly, she reached into the locker and confiscated one of the hand held kind. “I’m going to carry this one for someone else to use.”

—Royce, CMO

Kolar snorted back a laugh. Between the two of them, neither was going to be a significant aid in a fire fight. He hoped the others would be able to make up for their lack of aggression. “If it comes down to it… try to look dangerous.”

Jason rolled his eyes. He hoped that if things went wrong his team wasn’t too civilized compared to the caveman leading them to defend themselves. “How is Lieutenant Primage by the way? Did anything override her will or was it her fighter?”

Jason Harn, XO

“Dr Beaujay and I were escorting her to medical when this call came through. He’s conducting a physical and some tests now. I do have to say though that she was shaken by the experience.”

—Royce, CMO

=^=Parker to Harn. Remember our first priority is to find and help the Dragoon’s crew. Once we can be sure they are safe we can hopefully get this mess figured out and not violate any directives.=^=

Parker CO

=^=Understood sir.=^= Jason acknowledged grimly. He looked back at Bennie. “I would have liked to have Primage’s report before we beam out but we don’t know how long we’ve got before whosever on the planet manages to get their defense system working again.” He glanced around at the others. “If nobody has any objections we’ll be beaming over to the Dragoon first. With luck we’ll find the Dragoon’s crew in cryosleep capsules or something. Unless someone has a better idea?”

Jason Harn, XO, leaving room for player input

CSO

“Sounds good to me sir.” He gestured to the NEs. “I have a team on standby if we need help restarting the ship. And maybe, sir, if we can get the Dragoon live again, we can recover the ‘black box’ as it were. Find out what systems failed, in what order, and at what altitude.”

-Lt Michael Gould, CE

“Okay then,” Jason nodded. “If we’re going to the Dragoon first there’s no need to pack rope or anything like that. Unless Trevor has a suggestion?”

Trevor shook his head. He was primarily concerned with the Dragoon’s crew at the moment, and was wondering what state they’d be in. “I’ll help Doctor Royce with any survivors.” The Counselor stated.

Ch’zaolrirh listened to the others. The away team had very little information to work with, and it made him uneasy. In the back of his mind he wondered about the commbadge signal and whether or not the bridge had obtained anymore data related to it.

CNS

“Okay then, let’s be on our way,” Jason said as he exchanged the rifle shaped phaser for a smaller pistol shaped one and headed to the door.

Soon Jason and the others were standing on the transporter pads, the slimmer members of the away team sharing a pad. =^=Harn, to bridge. We’re beaming over to the Dragoon.=^=

Jason Harn, XO

OOC: Remember there is a message from the surface of the planet that the CAG received from a SF combadge asking for immediate help and that someone was about to find them. Now I am not 100% sure but I cannot find where the pilots passed that on to us. So I am going to look into that as it will clearly alter some of your actions.

Sidney

OOC: We haven’t been informed about the message from the surface of the planet. It’s a good thing that Harn called the bridge before the team beamed off the ship so Sidney can update him. This is why you always tell your captain where you’re going before you leave the ship. ;)

Jason Harn, XO

OOC: Now that Terry is back, that thread should get active again.

Kenson

COS Ch’zaolrirh

OOC: I was intending for the skipper to call the transporter room and instruct us to investigate the voice calling for help from the planet’s surface BEFORE we beamed over to the Dragoon, but Sidney seems to be checking in late. Oh well, there’s no reason why we can’t have a quick look around the derelict starship and verify that it is indeed abandoned before beaming down to the planet. Who knows? We may even get a chance to play a chilling “Final log” where we watch an image of the Dragoon’s CO facing his own real life Koboyashi Maru situation.

Jason Harn, XO

=^=Harn I’m clear your beaming over to the ship. We just received an update from Ric. They are close enough to receive a weak com badge call from help. The signal is weak but we have the coordinates. Apparently a crew member is hiding from unknown subjects but fears discovery at any minute. Check the Dragoon or split your team. We need to check on that person. Rics squad is flying to that location now to get in closer.=^=

Came the Captains voice over the Xo’s com

Parker CO

=^=Aye-aye sir. We’re beaming over to the Dragoon now.=^= he glanced over to the chief petty officer manning the transporter console. “Energize Mister O’Connell.”
The transporter room vanished in a shower of sparks to be replaced by the transporter room aboard the USS Dragoon.

Kolar withdrew his tricorder with the speed of master quick draw. He began scanning as he started materializing. “Scanning.” He reported without being requested.

Balfor CSO

Jason glanced around the old fashioned way as he stepped off the transporter pad and walked over to the unmanned console to check to see if there was any power. “It looks like Ric is going to be handling the extraction, but does anybody think we should put boots on the ground first? We don’t know how long it will take his pilots to find a landing site.”

OOC: Sidney’s instructions sounded like we’re going to be checking out the Dragoon while Ric and Ael land on the planet. Does anybody want to go back them up?

Jason Harn, XO

Jason Harn, XO

It took only a second before they realised how cold it was and how hard it was to breathe. Harn could not turn on the console: either power reached total depletion state, or the ship’s power went offline. Tricorders showed that there was no one in the immediate vicinity. Neither were there corpses. There was no evidence of weapons being discharged. what was very clear in the scans was that the ship was hit with microwaves. Their shields would have been down when it happened.

They were on Deck 10, one deck above main engineering.

GM

“It appears that Engineering is a deck below us, Commander.” The Counselor stated. Trevor holstered his tricorder and rubbed his hands together in order to feel warm. “Did the crew just give up without a fight?” The Lieutenant asked, thinking out loud.
