As they entered the bay, her silence and two steps ahead pace making sure that ‘small talk’ wasn’t easy, she realized she didn’t know what to do now. Stopping about ten feet inside the room, she just stood there. She finally managed to find here voice. “I’m fine, you know… really. I,” she faltered a moment before catching herself and trying to cover it. “I should be back out with the squadron.” She wasn’t aware she had raised a hand to press her fingers to her temple once more. Shaking her head, she dropped her hand and turned to face the doctor. “Really… just clear me so I can get back out there, please.” She was starting to get irritated, more than usual, but chalked it up to frustration at Ric being ‘over protective’ of her.

Clint stepped up to her and held out a hand, gesturing toward a bio bed. “I’m afraid I can’t release you for duty until you’ve undergone a few tests. If you would try to remember that this was not my idea, things will go a lot faster.” His smile was understanding and charming at the same time. “Please, Lt. Have a seat and we’ll begin.”

A medic saw them enter the bay and came up to Beaujay to reclaim the medkit. “Is there anything I can assist you with, doctor?” Her eyes strayed to the pilot.

His voice was soft, not loud enough to carry to Primage. “Yes. I think this exam is going to be…problematic. Stay with me for this one. The others can handle whatever else comes through the doors.”

She gave him a nod and hurried to put the kit away. She was back in less than a minute.

Medical scans will show that the pilot had residual microwave energy in her cells, especially in her nervous system.

OOC: Until pilot talks, scans will not show that she had no control of her arms and legs.

GM

Using a tricorder, Clint began scanning Primage, looking for anything out of the ordinary, no matter how small. There was evidence of microwave contamination at a micro cellular level. It was strongest throughout her nervous system. “Can you tell me what happened when we lost contact with you?”

Sighing and holding still to accept her fate, it troubled Xandra that they were whispering. But part of her brain said she was just overreacting. It wasn’t about her, anyway… more than likely.

As the Doc asked about the incident, she frowned as she remembered. “There was a pitch, not even a sound, just a… a pitch. It made my skull itch.” Her hand rose as if remembering the feeling. A second passed and she seemed to remember as if it was happening once more, here and now. Her eyes seemed to be looking far away as she frowned. Her voice dropping slightly. “It gave me a headache. I remember thinking that must be the feeling just before people pass out. But then something happened. There was a pop, like a pressure change.” She looked at the two before her and the look on her face was blatently obvious with fear. “Suddenly I couldn’t move. I could feel my arms, but couldn’t move them. I tried to move my legs,” her voice caught and she shook herself. She crossed her arms as if cold, but the med bay was warm. “I couldn’t control anything. The ship started diving for the surface and there was nothing I could do.”

While she would never admit it out loud, this was the worst she had ever felt. The people who had risked themselves for her, she couldn’t even imagine the violations Ric probably broke to get to her. Had she become a liability? Had he disobeyed orders because of her? The idea made her bite her lip.

One of the medics asked, “How long did this last? Eventually you regained control, right?”

GM

Xandra glanced at the medic, “I don’t know… I was definitely in space when it happened and most certainly nearing the surface when I managed to hear someone yell for me to ‘pull up’.” Her eyes showed her confusion and fear in the memory for just a moment before she blinked and regained control. “I would have to check my flight logs to see how long I was out of control. But yes… eventually I managed to pull up and get back to the ship.”

Suddenly she remembered the others. She gripped the side of the medical bed to keep herself from running from the room. The panic in her voice rising as she tried to keep from screaming. “Ric! Apex! The others. Tell them… tell them to keep away from the planet. The…” she shook her head at a loss for what to call it. “It takes control. They could cash, or get pulled somewhere!”

She was rambling now. She knew she couldn’t run out and hop in a fighter, but the urge had her whole body tense and the control needed to remain seated brought tears to her eyes at the thought of losing Ric to whatever was down there. She would mourn the loss of any pilot. But the loss of Ric may be more than she would recover from.

“Oh boy,” Clint muttered as he tapped his combadge. =^=Clint to bridge. Lieutenant Primage described some kind of high pitched sound that rendered her motionless. Medical scans are revealing mild neural distress. I don’t know what caused this but someone better tell the CAG about it.=^=

Clint, M.D.

“Tell them not to go to the surface… it could be a trap.” She was trying not to yell into Clint’s comm badge. Her own mind momentarily forgetting she had a badge of her own. Or, her mind was realizing that butting in on the conversation was probably a bad idea. Either way, her heart rate, pulse, and anxiety were rising in a steadfast enough way it wouldn’t take a tricorder to figure it out.

Bump 10.13.18

OOC: Just to keep the sim going …

IC: In the end, the pilot was told that she needed to be monitored further and should not be flying. However, she was not confined to quarters as her physical health was not in question.

GM

Growling at her inability to fight and get back out there, Xandra exited Medical and headed for the hanger bay. Sure Ric and the others were back by now. She headed to the hanger, then shifted slightly to head to control. The Fighter Info center was nearby and she made her way there. She would be able to hear Ric’s return and reassure herself the Wings were all safe.

((moving her to the thread the fighters are in merely because she would be in the info center and hear everything in there..... Meli))
