The Counselor chuckled at the brief comm exchange, and even raised his brows at the Chief when he finally walked into the conference room. Trevor wasn’t sure how the XO would respond, but he wasn’t too concerned with that right now.

Xandra came into the room slightly breathless and looked around. “Lt JG Primage for the Pilots. Ric is on the surface and the others are in support.” She looked haggard and worn like she’d been through the wringer. But she also looked on edge, alert and ready to hop back into a fighter if need be. She nodded to the others and took one of the vacant seats.

“Ok Good enough. Sit Rep by department. Were not proceeding without actionable data to base decisions off of. ” The Captain ordered.

OOC: I’m leaving it open who starts. That way if someone is busy we don’t wait for that department head before beginning. I suggest every department chimes in and the XO summarizes.

Jason was about to ask Xandra to go first but changed his mind at the last minute. “Mister Gould, why don’t you start us off?” he suggested.

Jason Harn, XO

Michael sat up slightly. You’re just full of ideas today, aren’t you? He thought. “Sir. In engineering terms, the Dragoon’s status when we arrived was pretty simple. Everything was turned off. Even life support. There was no sign of structural damage. We took a Jeffries tube down to engineering. After restarting one console, it was discovered that the Dragoon had been manually shut down, the crew beamed down, and life support set to shut down when all personnel were off the ship. I restored backup power just before we were beamed back here. Since then, I have been working to use the probe we set up to send remote signals to restart shields and impulse engines to the Dragoon using backup power. The plan being to bring her close and repair her.” He paused before saying “I’m working on a backup plan to perform a cold restart on the warp core and get main power going, but it’s… difficult is putting it lightly.”

-Lt Michael Gould, CE

The COS appeared slightly dismayed. He had little information from their time aboard the Dragoon, and had yet to receive any additional reports from the main security office aboard the Olinski, “The condition of the Dragoon displayed no signs of a struggle. During the short period of time in which we had access to her logs, we identified no indication that there was any armed confrontation, or weapons fired prior to her apparent scuttling. The most telling information from the logs was a lack of detail about the crews decision to depart. It suggests that there was either a sudden life threatening emergency, or that the crew was compromised… perhaps in the way our pilots were when we first arrived.”

The Andorian looked over at Xandra. A small sympathetic smile came over his face as he wondered how she was doing. The lieutenant looked haggard, and he hated to draw attention to her, but he was left wondering if she would be able to give the group any additional insight on what happened out in space.

COS Ch’zaolrirh

It took her a second to find her voice, but suddenly she was all business. “Sir, the CAG and two squads are still dealing with the planet. It seems a microwave type emitter causes paralysis when hit with it.” She took a deep breath to compose herself. “Ric is on the surface helping with rescue while other fighters provide cover support. We are unsure at this time if we have all those from the ship, or not.”

Her hands moved to her lap under the table as she fought the urge to beg for release to go assist them. In her mind she knew she’d never make it. In her gut, she thought she could. “I believe additional assistance if being given by the ship to aid in destroying the microwave emitters. I came here before they finished so I cannot yet report on their effectiveness.”

She nodded that that was all, and fell silent.

Lt JG Xandra Probably
Pilot/squad leader

“Aren’t you forgetting something Lieutenant?” Jason asked slyly. “You still haven’t reported what happened in the cockpit of your fighter when it lost control. I think we would all like to hear a first hand account, if you don’t mind.”

Jason Harn, XO

Sidney listened as the reports were made. Some initial ideas were already forming.

Parker CO

A SitRep appeared on the panel built into the conference room table where the Captain sat.

sensors began to pick up activity on the surface of the planet. The population was not very large, about 400 thousand scattered all over the main continent. However, what was alarming was that there were activity on the surface of the planet consistent with violence. Life signs were moving and many were getting weaker. There were also signs of explosions and the like on the planet.

The Captain sent it to the main screen in the conference room for all to view but did not stop the reporting process.

Parker CO

“Who boy,” Jason whistled when he looked at the screen.

The Counselor made a mental note to speak to Xandra at some point, but his focus was primarily on the display that the Captain had put up. “What’s going on down there?” The Lieutenant asked quietly to himself.

CNS

“I might be wrong,” Jason said as the color left his face, “but I think we’re looking at what happens on the planet’s surface when the mind control is turned off.” Could it be true? Were the officers and crew of the Dragoon victims of mind control? Was the entire planet? The ENTIRE PLANET? What could do that? With an ashen face, he turned to look at Xandra.

Jason Harn, XO
“I need answers and options.” The Captain said. “Are we relatively sure we are safe up here? Can we use the Dragoon in any manner to our benefit? If were going down what should we do. A large heavily armed party or a small insertion team? This is what you get paid to do. Give me options?”

Parker CO
Toro listened “It is my opinon that a small insertion team would be better. Once we have a clearer idea of what is going on, we can send in additional support. The smaller the team the better chance of success.” She said “In research the area where the child was found, there is a small clearing that has some cover that could be used to bringin the team.” She suggested.

CIO

“Medical might be able to set up a cortical jammer.” He looked across the table. “I’ll see if there were any telepathic species on the Dragoon. If so, that would imply that there is not natural defense.”

“There seems to be a range limit. Not too much more or less than the range of the Microwave weapon. I’ve never seen mass weaponized mind control before. Perhaps research of the data base will come up with a similar situation.” Kolar seemed to remember something in the kin occurred to the Enterprise under Picard… almost started a war.

Kolar.
