By this time, Xandra had moved up and had her hands on the back of the chair of a Lieutenant monitoring the fighter positions and life signs. Ric’s was raised, to be expected, but it wasn’t moving away from the surface. Her knuckles went white on the back of the seat as she watched the others strife the surface. The energy build up had her gritting her teeth.

Two seconds later, she spun on her heels and moved out of the control room and down to the hanger floor. They needed more help. She was sliding the sleeves of her flight suit back up on her arms as she headed for the Deck Chief. “I need a shuttle with transporter capability.” The other shuttle had been ordered back. But she could get there and beam up Ric and the child. “Chief!” She walked up to him with a determined stride.

OOC: Just imagine this coming over your com badges.
IC:

=Ops to all Senior Officers. Meet the Captain in the Conference Room asap. If unable to come send a stand in=^=

Xandra heard the comm and smiled. Ric wasn’t here, the squad was on the surface or above it. That made her Senior Pilot. “Belay that, Chief.” She turned on her heels and took off at a slight jog to the Conference Room. The Captain would give her permission to help with the rescue. He had to!

Back on the surface, Ric climbed into his fighter and sat the young girl on his lap. It would be an uncomfortable, cramped ride, but with any luck he wouldn’t have to perform any evasive maneuvers. As they began to lift-off, Ric started asking the girl questions.

“What can you tell me about what happened to you and the rest of the crew? Are they being held prisoner?”

Ricochet (CAG)

The small girl showed in her face that there was a sad memory but she remained strong. “I do not really know what happened. We were told by the Captain that we were transporting to the surface. I thought it was a break or shore break. I had heard Daddy and Mommy speak of shore breaks, but I did not get to see them when we transported down. When we reached the surface, I noticed that everyone changed. Even Daddy and Mommy did not recognise me. I saw them and called to them but they did not respond. One of the grown up simply scolded me to stop shouting. He had a very scary face. Then I just kept quiet. I saw my friends and they did not call to me even when they did not see me. I saw them eating fruits like apples and ate them when I was hungry. Today, something happened, one or two of the grown ups suddenly saw me and told me to hide. They said that someone is saving us and gave me a commbadge. There were also other grown ups not from the ship. They started to attack our grown ups. I ran to hide and tried to use the commbadge.”

GM

=/\=Papa Bear, you take Ric’s port wing, I’ll roll to starboard. We’ll guide you in Ricochet. Keep true.=/\= Ael spun over Ric’s fighter to take starboard position. =/\=Ricochet. Anything goes wrong, you go home. Full throttle. We’ll handle it.=/\=

-Lt(j.g.) Ael Khev, Apex

Papa Bear’s booming Russian voice blared over the comm. =^=Da, Comrade Apex. I am being on port.=^= With that comment Papa Bear peeled back a took up a position at Ric’s 4 o’clock.

=^=Roger that, Apex, make sure I’ve got a clear shot to the hanger. We need to get this girl safely on board so she can tell us anything she knows about what’s going on.=^=, came the CAG’s reply.

OOC: This is me jumping into the regular sim.....if I am stepping in the wrong place, I am sorry.

OOC: No problem, we’ll get you out there flying patrol in no time. –Terry

(Meanwhile back on the USS Brian A. Olinski

IC:

Lt. (JG) Robert Banner wanted to be in the air with the rest of the squad, but the Star-Fighter he had been assigned was still not ready for flight. Everyone else had gone to help, and Banner (on his very first mission) was, in effect grounded. All he could do was wait until the fight crew was done with his fighter. So, that is what Banner was doing…waiting and waiting.

Doing his best to calm the girl, Ric tried to get some info from her. ppossibly get her mind of what was happening below.

“You know what, Sweethear? I told you my name, but I don’ think you ever told me what yours is? Also, who are you parents and what was their job on the Dragoon?”

Ricochet (CAG)

“I’m Stephanie. My dad is Lt. Paul Reiser. He’s an engineer on the Dragoon. My mommy’s Ensign Judith Reiser. She works in the room where there are lots of stars,” said the girl. She seemed to be calmer as she spoke about her family.

GM

“You must mean Stellar Cartography? Are you hungry, Stephanie? I’ve got some ration here. It’s not the most flavorful, but it should at least fill your belly.”

Ric reached over to the storage compartment in the cockpit and pulled out some freeze dried food. Poor kid, he decided, probably hasn’t had a decent meal since their crew were on the Dragoon.

“Jerky!” whispered Stephanie. “I remember this on a camping trip. We had stew and stuff on the ship. Here, we have roast meats. Usually, the grown ups will come back with some animal and after they cleaned it, put it over a large fire. At first it was okay I guess, but we would be eating the roast for the whole week!” she concluded with a shudder.

GM

As the Olinski became larger in his viewscreen, Ric opened his comm to the CIC. =^=CIC, this is the CAG. I want all squads ready to fly in ten minutes Form up on Apex and Papa Bear. I want in atmosphere, high-altitude patrols orbiting the planet. Eyes in the sky broadcasting back to mother as to what’s going on on the surface. Any more evidence of microwave emitters, I want them taken out. Apex, Papa Bear, stop and see mother long enough to re-fuel and get re-armed. You two will then coordinate the patrols. Ill be back with you ASAP, but first I want to introduce my new friend here to the Skipper. Copt?=^=

CIC replied, =^=Message relayed to all squads, Ricochet. They will be flight ready in 10.=^=

=^=Da, Ricochet, will be seeink you on dark side. Copy, =^= came the response from Papa Bear.

Ricochet (CAG)

On the flight deck: Banner kept waiting for his fighter to be ready to go. He looked over at the NE enlisted plane Captain. “Can I get now, I think I am needed?” Finally, the NE plane Captain looked over at Banner and replied, “Sir, with all due respect, if I don’t complete these repairs, the minute this ship takes off you will be back with an emergency. Please go away and let me do my work.”

“Okay, okay, maybe I can get some thing to eat? Keep me updated please.”

Banner
Mirri responded quickly =^=Aye Captain. On my way back.=^= She said as she spun the runabout around and headed back to the Olinski.

Helm

OOC: The girl getting to the Olinski will be on a new thread.

GM

Apex and the rest of Green Squad came in for a quick refuel and reload before they could head back out.

-Lt(j.g.) Ael Khev, Apex

Before Banner could get to the door of the hangar bay, a flight crew mechanic ran up to him. “Lt. Banner!! Your bird is ready to fly, sir. CIC says to mount up and be prepared to depart with Red Squad!”

Joe Fixit (mechanic)

With a smile on his face, Banner said, “I guess the pot roast will wait!” He then headed over to gear up and prepare to go out!
