On the bridge of the USS Dragoon, it was eerily silent. Empty chairs before vacant consoles arranged in front of a viewscreen that no one was looking at. The hum of the transporter broke the silence as Jason, Michael, and four junior officers appeared in a shower of sparks.

=^=Harn, to Olinski, the Dragoon away team has made it down and safe,” Jason said as he touched his combage.

Jason Harn, XO, starting the Dragoon thread.

Michael let out a deep breath. “Sir. Do you want us to get right on main power? Or do we have some other priorities?”

-Lt Michael Gould, CE

“No, no, main power is good,” Jason assured him. “If that planet gets its microwave weapon functioning again, we’ll need power for the shields. Nobody wants to see the first officer freak out again,” he smiled sheepishly.

OOC: According to the TNG episode “Relics” it takes ten minutes for a Next Gen ship to turn on it’s warp drive when its turned off. My one hour estimate was for 23rd century ships. Oops.

Jason Harn, XO

“Ok,” he looked to his team “let’s get down there.” He hopped into the jeffries tube and headed down to engineering. A cold start on a Pendragon class. It was a crisis, he could feel the pressure. But there was a little bit of fun. Cold starts weren’t common practice.

-Lt Michael Gould, CE
OOC: I don’t know if the team is splitting, or if we’re all headed down to engineering, so I don’t know whether or not to create a separate thread for engineering so Harn can stay on the bridge.

OOC: Let’s try adding “meanwhile on the bridge” or “in the meantime in main engineering” to the beginning of our posts and we’ll see if it gets too confusing/cumbersome. Or you could send NPCs down to main engineering walk over to one of the LRCS consoles on the bridge and say “transferring main engineering functions to the bridge” the way Geordi did in one TNG episode and supervise them from the bridge.

OOC: I guess Toro is over here?

Toro remained at her station until it was determined who was going where. She continued her research on the planet and the people that should be here.

CIO

OOC: I had assumed that Toro was on the Olinski’s bridge, but she’s welcome here if you want her to be. Jason is going to need somebody to order around and talking to my own NPCs could bore my readers. On the other hand, Sidney is back and needs someone to talk to as well. Or is Mirri back aboard the Olniski leaving Toro free man the Dragoon’s bridge?

Jason Harn, XO, who had no idea that his “choose where you want your character to be” idea would get so complicated.

The CE found that there was no damage to the engines. After ten minutes the familiar, yet slightly different, hum of the warp engines could be heard in engineering.

GM

OOC: Toro is on the Dragoon’s bridge since Mirri is on the Olinski’s bridge.

Jason Harn, finally making a decision while waiting for Gould’s next post.

OOC: So sorry, I’m sick right now. I’ll try to do better.

OOC: Sorry to hear that. Please do get back to the pink of health.

IC:

A call came from Gould’s combadge to Harn’s =/\=Do you hear that Commander? We’re live. Warp core is up and running. I recommend getting clear of the microwave device’s potential effective radius now that we have engines. I’ll keep working on getting other systems live.=/\= Harn couldn’t see it, but Michael was grinning ear to ear. His team had done it.

-Lt Michael Gould, CE

=^=Thank you Mister Gould,=^= Jason replied gratefully. “Lieutenant Turcio, shields up. Ensign Duffy, take us out, heading thirty two point six, mark four point five. Minimum impulse. Take us within transporter range of the Olinski.”

Jason Harn, XO

The Dragoon moved slowly out and the CIO was able to bring up the crew manifest and ship sensors showed where they were on the planet (or at least their commbadges).

GM

Toro nodded “Shields up.. I have the crew manifes and have adjusted the sensors to show where each one is on the Planet…well at least where their comm badges are.” She said as she put it up on the main view screen and split the screen in to two sections.
