“Any answers… officers?”

Kolar

OOC: Actually he was talking to the liberated crew members they found. What had happened and why they were stealing food and animals.

OOC: I am assuming that Kolar is speaking to the members of the team that were using their tricorders to determine the smoke and what it means?

OOC: Oh. OK.

IC: “We were directed there and immersed into the village. In effect, we became part of the village. When the noise stopped, the villagers started saying we have stolen their food. We had never communicated directly as we all seemed to know what we must do,” one of the women officers reported.

GM

“What, that doesn’t make a lot of sense, give me the story in its entirety. Who/what directed you there? How long were you there? Why did you abandon ship? What noise? Did you actually steal their food, if you didn’t who did? Where is the rest of your crew?” This was not the way a star-fleet crew was trained to deliver reports so he troubled by what was going on.

Another Dragoon crew member interjected, “Sir, we were forced to move here. I remember a high pitched sound and then my body began to move on its own. We weren’t able to resist. I am an engineer. My uncontrollable body started to initiate shut down of the ship and beamed down before the engines completely shut down.”

“I couldn’t control my body as well,” replied the woman officer who had first replied. “I was afraid that you wouldn’t believe me …” she looked down.

“Yes,” said a third crew member. “I was not able to control my body. When I regained control, I ran to my ship mates because the villages suddenly turned hostile despite the fact that they never attacked us when we first entered the village.”

“Take care,” the villager who was speaking earlier, “they are lying! These are sorcerers and witches. We weren’t able to control our bodies as well. They must have hexed our bodies and now trying to find excuses.”

GM

“If the same thing was happening to both sides, why would you say it was a lie?” Kolar questioned. “IN any case its not a reason to get agitated, we have a deal, I intend to stand to it.”

“The more likely answer is a third party did this, the question is where they are? They had something to gain from us. Our vessel which has value… you,” he looked to the natives, “Mayhap were just victims, but perhaps you had something they wanted as well.”

As tensions began to subside, Ric began to focus on Xandra. Some of her comments were. . confusing, and . . .out of place.

=^= Kolar, it appears you have the situation in hand. I’m sending Red Squad to recon that village site. I’m heading back to the Olinksi.=^=

He switched comm channels. =^=Apex, take Red Squad and recon that village. I’m transmitting photos of the Dragoons crew to you. See if you can any recognition of any of the crew. Copy?=^=

A minute or two of silence was observed and then Lt. Banner came over the intercom, “Yes, sir, Red Squad is on it. By the way, I am feeling much better now. That stupid virus I had seems to be gone and I have (again) be cleared to fly.”

As he powered down the Ranger’s weapons, he said to Xandra, “Sehlat take us back to the Olinski. I want to monitor things from CIC.”

Of course, that wasn’t the only reason he wanted to go back. Xandra was NOT okay to be back in the field yet. He had some butt to be chewing on. It was either the person in sickbay that HAD cleared her for duty, or, she had lied about being cleared for duty. Hopefully, it was the former. The CAG would feel much better about giving a dressing down to a medic than he would to her.

“Take us home, Sehlat.”

Xandra began the functions to remove them from the planet but there was a frown on her face. She had been close enough to Ric, for long enough, that something was bothering him. She also knew him well enough not to ask. If he wanted to share, he would. “Yes, Sir.” She tapped the comm, =^=Sehlat to Olinski, Ricochet and myself heading back.=^= She glanced back at him to be sure no one else was joining them.

With no further instructions, her hands automatically did what was necessary to get them off the planet and headed back to the ship. Whatever was bugging him, she hoped it wasn’t serious.

Whatever else had fogged her mind, her flying skills were certainly not in question. She did everything by the book, to her excellent usual skill level and without hesitation or even a ruffle of her brow.
