SNIP
A massive amount of energy was headed towards one of the transmitters that the fighters had damaged some time before.

GM

Suddenly, Banner started to read a build of energy from a damaged transmitter. Hitting his communication channel, Banner inquired:

“Does anyone else see this build of energy?”

Banner

“Fvadt.” (Damn it.) A little Romulan slipped out. Ael didn’t think comms caught it. =/\=All wings, there is energy buildup at the microwave emitters. Prepare for emergency maneuvers. Olinski, are you seeing this? Energy is headed for microwave emitters. Repeat, emitters are active. I thought we destroyed those things. Please advise. I have the wing on standby to clear. Or drop another round of torpedoes.=/\=

-Lt(j.g.) Ael Khev, Apex

=^=CAG this is Balfor, we need eyes on… hill to our southwest… observe and report. I don’t want those emitters coming back on line…=^=

Balfor Kolar.

=^=Ricochet, this is the Dragoon,=^= Jason’s voice added. =^=We need a copy of the visual scans you have the emitters before they were destroyed. Send them at your earliest convenience.=^=

Jason Harn, XO

Ael didn’t pause. The CAG he once was came back. =/\=Ok. This is Apex, let’s go. Southwest. Clean formation, stay with your wingman. Give Ric a hand, if you were on the bomb runs, send your scan data to the Dragoon. Copy?=/\= Ael banked and started his approach.

=/\=Banner. You don’t have an assigned wingman. You’ll ride up front with me.=/\= He smiled. Back in the saddle.

-Lt(j.g.) Ael Khev, Apex

Responding as quickly as the orders came, “Aye sir, I am following you in.”

Banner

As they reached the emitters, the fighters saw a few robots charge up and proceed to repair the emitter. The robots seemed to be fitted with an internal replicator system because the damaged parts were atomised and new parts seem to materialise for replacement.

GM

=/\=Olinski, Dragoon, you’re not going to believe what I have eyes on. Automated repair drones. They seem to be equipped with replicators. New parts are being replicated real fast. Should we take these things out?=/\=

-Lt(j.g.) Ael Khev, Apex

=^=Acknowledged Apex,=^= Jason’s voice replied. =^=Harn to Olinski, requesting permission to train the Dragoon’s phasers on the emitters. It’s not a permanent fix but it will buy us some time.=^=

Jason Harn, XO

=^=Fire at will.=^= Came the Captains reply.

Parker CO

=Fighter Wing get your distance until we can neutralize them=^=

Parker CO

=^=Aye-aye Olinski; permission to fire acknowledged.=^= Jason confirmed.

=^=Commander, If I may suggest, fire one volley off target, before targeting the emitters. That should give the repair drones time to retreat to their base. The Red Squadron can follow them home, destroy the repair hanger - Then we’ll follow on foot and investigate the home base. =^=

Balfor cSO

Ric broke into the conversation from CIC. =^=Harn, I concur with Kolar. Whoever is running this show has got an underground base and we need to get access to it to put these mind-controlling zombie makers out of business. Apex, do you copy on those orders?”

OOC: If you all could also cross post to the CIC thread I just started, it would be helpful for Ric to stay up on the conversation from there. Thanks!!

Ricochet (CAG)

After a short pause, Jason gave his reply. =^=Acknowledged Dragoon. Let us know when your fighters are clear. =^=

OOC: I think the CIC post is unnecessary, but all parties need to remember to post on this thread, the Bridge thread, and the Dragoon thread.

Jason Harn, XO

=/\=Understood. All wings, designate drones as bogeys. Remember; don’t shoot them all down, we need to scare them home not destroy.=/\= Ael took a pause. =/\=Assume attack positions. Banner, you and I will take 1 or 2 down, then crossfire only. Keep them moving, not dead. Let’s go.=/\= Apex hit the accelerator and opened fire.

-Lt(j.g.) Ael Khev, Apex

“Roger that” exclaimed Banner as he hit the buttons to arm his weapons.

“Weapons are hot” said the computer in his cockpit.

Banner

OOC: Mention was made of hangars. Actually the drones appeared from the ground and proceeded to repair the emitters. The charging up that was detected … I’ll wait to describe that. Shouldn’t spoil the fun …

IC: The shockwave of the torpedoes caused two of the drones to topple off the emitter they were on. The other drones retreated into the ground. The exit points were big enough, just enough, for the fighters to move in …

GM

OOC: For reference to the fighter pilots. The away team split. The COS and an NPC were making their way to the hill where those drones emerged, when the COS realized that that thread might actually be less confusing if merged into this. So here I go:

IC:

Meanwhile on the ground....

As they exited the clearing Ch’zaolrirh had a worried look on his face. “I don’t like this Callahan, we are being pulled in too many directions.” The ensign gave a nod, and continued to walk. “Beyond that, we could be walking into a Makra’s nest. Be prepared.” The ensign remained persistently silent.

As they got closer to the hill, Ch’zaolrirh paused and gave his tricorder to scan the energy wave. He wanted to know if it had dissipated since the appearance of those drones. He called out to Callahan, “Well if you’re not going to speak, you could at least use those eyes of yours to start looking for anything suspicious up ahead.”

COS Ch’zaolrirh / Ens. Callahan

The scans were very clear … There were eight drones. When the torpedo exploded, two of the drones were knocked off their perch on the emitter when the shockwave hit. The other six moved quickly to an exit point at the base of the emitter. It was a large exit point: a tight fit for a fighter but definitely possible to enter the exit point.

The torpedo explosion was more than audible on the ground. Both the COS and Callahan looked up for a moment. Ch’zaolrirh turned once more to Callahan, “Looks like the pilots are getting down to business.” The man nodded.

With that, the COS turned back to his tricorder:

As for the energy scans, the power did not come above ground. There was a strip of eight energy junctions. These were probably the contact points for the drones to power up. Strangely, the energy junctions did not look old. The parts were of various ages. There were junction points that were probably replicated in the last two hours. The oxidation of the metals were so slight, unlike the other parts where oxidation layers showed that they were at least a year or two in age.

GM

Looking over the COS’s shoulder, Callahan finally broke his silence, “That must be the dry dock.” As he spoke, the remaining drones slid into the underbelly of the hill. It was clear where they were headed. Ch’zaolrirh made his own deduction, “Some of the energy junctions look brand new. It might be hostile in there… so prepare yourself.”

=^= COS to fighter wing, myself and Ens. Callahan are on the ground, less than a klick from that hill. We are going to follow those drones inside. =^=

COS Ch’zaolrirh

=/\=You’re not going to be alone. I’m going in with you. Banner, volunteer only. You in? The rest of the squad is watching the emitters.=/\=

-Lt(j.g.) Ael Khev, Apex

“Roger, sir, I will remain here and be your eye in the sky. Please let me know when you need me to blow something else up.”

Banner

Ael chuckled. =/\=You got it.=/\= He barrelled forward and then spiralled down into the hilltop drone dock entry.

-Lt(j.g.) Ael Khev, Apex

=^= That’s going to be tighter than targeting womp rats in Begger’s Canyon, Apex. Stay sharp.=^= came Ric’s voice from CIC

Banner watched as Apex flew out of the sky and towards a landing zone; he then programed into the computer a search pattern to keep an eye on everything until he was ordered to do otherwise. Hitting his comunication channel Banner stated,

“Lt. Banner to Olinski, I will be keeping watch in search pattern Omega 141, acknowledge, please.”

Banner

=^=Roger that, Banner. This is CIC. Keep that opening in sight.=^=

Ricochet (CAG)

“Aye sir will do, but I will have to land for fuel before long.”

OOC: I assume we still use some type of fuel to keep the planes in the air.

Banner

OOC: We used to have the specs to the fighters connected but in the switch over I could not find them. Let me look again but I think they probably use some sort of fusion generator and fuel mix. Though that is an interesting question we need the answer too.

Sidney

OOC: And here is the specs for the Templar Fighters

OOC: Plus I fixed the link. You can now check all aux craft under the fighter specs. Just look up the three we have listed plus the Runabout.

Sidney

OOC: Thanks Captain.
