At that moment the discussion was interrupted by a transmission from the Dragoon. “Attention Olinski and away team,” Jason announced in his ‘stage voice’. “We’re detecting a massive energy surge coming from a hill approximately one kilometer from where the fighters are now. The energy is channeling to the destroyed emitters and we don’t know what’s going to happen when it gets there. We’re sending exact coordinates now. Over.”

Jason Harn, XO

As the transmission came in, Ch’zaolrirh took a look at the new data coming in from the Olinski’s bridge. His antennae peaked as he turned to Kolar, “Mr. Kolar, it looks like the energy surge is coming from within the hill itself. I suggest that we make our way there now and investigate.”

“We might have two directions…” He nodded.

The COS knew that it was a risky proposition, but the risk of those local emitters coming back on line worried him far more.

Strapping his tricorder over his shoulder, he made one more suggestion. “From a security standpoint, I’d also suggest that we get the members of the Dragoon crew off planet for further questioning. Things might become unstable depending on the path that energy takes.”

COS Ch’zaolrirh

OOC: Correcting a grammar issue -

COS Ch’zaolrirh

“Ch’zaolrirh, good calls, contact the Dragoon. Have them brought to a safe location and have the questioning continue with an officer there.”

=^=CAG this is Balfor, we need eyes on… hill to our southwest… observe and report. I don’t want those emitters coming back on line…=^=

Balfor Kolar.

Chattwan waited patiently for Balfor to finish what he was doing so that he could start his recitation whilst bringing them to Minvillage.

GM

While trying to follow Balfor’s orders, Ch’zaolrirh was greeted with comm chatter. =^=Olinski, Dragoon, you’re not going to believe what I have eyes on,=^= the masculine voice of Lieutenant (junior grade) Ael Khev, callsign Apex reported. =^=Automated repair drones. They seem to be equipped with replicators. New parts are being replicated real fast. Should we take these things out?=^=

=^=Acknowledged Apex,=^= Jason’s voice replied. =^=Harn to Olinski, requesting permission to train the Dragoon’s phasers on the emitters. It’s not a permanent fix but it will buy us some time.=^=

Jason Harn, XO

=^=Fire at will.=^= Came the captain’s reply.

=^=Aye-aye Olinski; permission to fire acknowledged.=^= Jason confirmed.

=^=Commander, If I may suggest, fire one volley off target, before targeting the emitters. That should give the repair drones time to retreat to their base. The Red Squadron can follow them home, destroy the repair hanger - Then we’ll follow on foot and investigate the home base. =^=

Balfor CSO

When Balfor had finished his message, Chattwan asked, “Sir, would you like to visit the village now?”

GM

Ric broke into the conversation from CIC. =^=Harn, I concur with Kolar. Whoever is running this show has got an underground base and we need to get access to it to put these mind-controlling zombie makers out of business. Apex, do you copy on those orders?”

Ricochet (CAG)

After a short pause, Jason gave his reply. =^=Acknowledged Dragoon. Let us know when your fighters are clear. =^=

Jason Harn, XO

Things were moving even quicker than Ch’zaolrirh anticipated. With Balfor’s approval, he carried out his initial plan. =^= Ch’zaolrirh to Dragoon. We have six members of the Dragoon’s crew here with us. I am tagging them now for you. We need you to extract them =^=

=^=Acknowledged Chzaolrirh,=^= Jason replied. =^=We’ll beam them up as soon as we’re sure that it’s safe to drop the shields.=^=

With the request in place, he turned back the CSO. Motioning towards the hill where the energy wave initiated he began to speak, “I’d bet a bar of gold pressed latinum that those replicators originated from under that hill.”

As he awaited the commander’s orders to move out, Ch’zaorirh began to wonder how they would manage to secure the transmitter site if there were other replicator nests on the planet. He continued, “That said, the transmitter site itself still remains a priority - if we are to protect our own sanity while on the planet.”

COS Ch’zaolrirh

“I think we are to have to split up.” He looked over to the away team. “Two each seems a little light, but it going to be what we are going to have to do. Ch’zaolrirh, since the drone base will more likely lead to combat, you go there. I’ll take the village.”

Ch’zaolrirh nodded, “Understood.” Turning to the other two security officers, he got his away team in order. “Ensign Dell, you are with Mr. Kolar. Ensign Callahan, you are with me.” With that the Andorian started making his way out of the clearing. As he did, he sent another alert to the Dragoon and the Olinski.

=^= Ch’zaolrirh to all. The away team is splitting up. I’m taking a security officer to investigate that hill. I suspect it is where the drones originated. Mr. Kolar is taking another security officer to the nearby village. I suppose that leaves the transmitter site to the fighter wing. =^=

COS Ch’zaolrirh

Kolar then turned to the native, “I’d love to see the village.”

Kolar

OOC: My apologies for the previous post.

IC: Chattwan led the small group through a wooded area. After about ten minutes walk, they came out of the woods and there was a sight of undulating plains. About a mile from where they were, they could see a clump of houses.

GM

Jason Harn, XO

“Seems bucolic to me,” Kolar remarked. “I don’t see anything that might be of concern.” Kolar dipped his head as he glanced at his tricorder. He wasn’t going to forget that he was a science officer first.

Kolar

He was able to detect a commbadge signal in the village. There were no high tech weapons in the village. There were rather old fashioned tools for farming, from what his tricorder was able to decipher.

GM

Kolar pointed in the direction of the comm badge, “Can we go this way? Is there something interesting on the way?” Kolar was unlikely to take no for an answer as he wanted to at least collect the comm badge. He didn’t know what was happening on the planet, but he knew they didn’t need a comm badge to play with and perhaps didn’t need the person it was attached to.

OOC: Sorry for the MIA. RL just came up without my noticing it.

IC: “Yes,” said Chattwan. He led the small group down a kind of man made stairway carved into the soil using the surrounding tree roots. They arrived and a man ran up to greet them. He had had a solemn look about him until he came closer and recognised Chattwan.

“Hi Chattwan,” he greeted with a smile. “How’s your village chief? Who are these people? They don’t look like they are from your village.”

“Hi, Mr. Chuncang. They are looking for Verrik,” replied Chattwan with a smile.

“Why?” the man frowned. He looked suspiciously at the Starfleet officers.
