=/\=Understood. All wings, designate drones as bogeys. Remember; don’t shoot them all down, we need to scare them home not destroy.=/\= Ael took a pause. =/\=Assume attack positions. Banner, you and I will take 1 or 2 down, then crossfire only. Keep them moving, not dead. Let’s go.=/\=

-Lt(j.g.) Ael Khev, Apex

Adding to the chatter, another comm came through to the Dragoon.

=^= Ch’zaolrirh to Dragoon. We have six members of the Dragoon’s crew here with us. I am tagging them now for you. We need you to extract them. =^=

COS Ch’zaolrirh

=^=Acknowledged Chzaolrirh,=^= Jason replied. =^=We’ll beam them up as soon as we’re sure that it’s safe to drop the shields.=^=

The radio chatter remained persistent.

=^= Ch’zaolrirh to all. The away team is splitting up. I’m taking a security officer to investigate that hill. I suspect it is where the drones originated. Mr. Kolar is taking another security officer to the nearby village. I suppose that leaves the transmitter site to the fighter wing. =^=

Jason turned to face Gould’s console. “Mister Gould, take whatever staff is the most competent with a phaser and beam up the six Dragoon crewmembers as soon as Toro drops the shields. Bring them to the bridge if you think that it’s safe to do so.” He turned to face his tactical officer. “Toro, as soon as its safe, drop the shields and raise them again as soon as the Dragoon’s people have been beamed up. It’s probably just a precaution but there’s no point taking chances.”

In the mean time, the tactical station showed that the torpedo fire had had their desired effect. The drones retreated into the ground through an exit point.

Jason Harn, XO

Toro nodded as she narrowed the firing beam and fired, dropped the shields and locked onto the Dragoon crew and beamed them back to the ship and quickly re raised the shields “Commander, I believe I have all the crew of the Dragoon aboard.” She said as she looked over the transport signatures. “Shields are back up and we’re ready for an attack.

CIO

“Um, okay, I was just hoping that Gould would reach the transporter room first,” Jason nodded weakly. >>>>>Jason Harn, XO

OOC: Opened a new thread for CE … :)

The lieutenant, who was drawing weapons for his team, passed out the last hand phaser and said “Let’s go find out.” He turned to leave and four NEs followed. “Remember. Dazed or not, these are still Starfleet officers.” They stepped into the turbolift. “Weapons set to stun.” The doors closed and the CE was whisked away with his team.

-Lt Michael Gould, CE

“Remember, if they can carry on a conversation that probably means they’re still on our side,” Jason called as Gould and his men left the room.

Jason Harn, XO

Toro looked at Harn “What do you think?” She said as she scanned to see how much damage had been done to the systems on the surface.

CIO

“What do I think?” Jason sat back in the commanding officer’s chair and pondered the question. “I think that we’re dealing with a good old fashioned computer god. It has all the classic hallmarks. A technology that can disable starships. The populace on the surface being kept a technological level far below the level needed to disable a starship. A form of hypnosis or suggestion to keep the population under control and keep them from asking questions. The hidden intelligence pulling the strings behind the curtain. And the use of robots and drones rather than soldiers or laborers when something high tech needs to be done. I made certain to catch up on what happened during the…”

Jason caught himself. Although his somewhat unique background wasn’t classified, he would rather that the rank and file aboard the Olinski believe he was born in the same century as they were. Although it was unlikely that Toro didn’t know about his 22nd century origins they weren’t alone on the bridge of the Dragoon.

He cleared his throat before faking a coughing fit to cover for his artificial pause. “As I was saying I made certain to catch up on my 23rd century history while studying for my exams back at the Academy,” he finished.

Jason Harn, XO

Toro looked over at Harn “I am working on contacting my contacts in Intelligence.” She said “See if they know anything else about what’s going on here.” She said as she is continued to scan the surface to see if there was additional technology and see how things were going and if the drones had come out to start repairs.

Toro looked at Harn “23rd Century history?” She asked “I guess that would go with what we’re looking at. Do we have any ideas on how we’re going to screen the Dragoon to make sure that they are clear?”

CIO

There was no information available for Toro. However, the only parallel that was provided by records regarding the Planet Minos and Echo Papa 607.
