=/\=Olinski, Dragoon, you’re not going to believe what I have eyes on. Automated repair drones. They seem to be equipped with replicators. New parts are being replicated real fast. Should we take these things out?=/\=

-Lt(j.g.) Ael Khev, Apex

=^=Acknowledged Apex,=^= Jason’s voice replied. =^=Harn to Olinski, requesting permission to train the Dragoon’s phasers on the emitters. It’s not a permanent fix but it will buy us some time.=^=

Jason Harn, XO

Mirri heard building power heading towards the emitters and she began plotting a course to back away from the planet “Have we figured out the frequency of the emitters and can we modify our shields?” She asked as she prepared to move the large ship away from the planet.

Helm

=^=Fire at will.=^= Came the captain’s reply.

He had already seen what those emitters could do. Why wait.

Parker CO

=^=Aye-aye Olinski; permission to fire acknowledged.=^= Jason confirmed.

=^=Commander, If I may suggest, fire one volley off target, before targeting the emitters. That should give the repair drones time to retreat to their base. The Red Squadron can follow them home, destroy the repair hanger - Then we’ll follow on foot and investigate the home base. =^=

Balfor CSO

Ric broke into the conversation from CIC. =^=Harn, I concur with Kolar. Whoever is running this show has got an underground base and we need to get access to it to put these mind-controlling zombie makers out of business. Apex, do you copy on those orders?=^=

After a short pause, Jason gave his reply. =^=Acknowledged Dragoon. Let us know when your fighters are clear. =^=

Jason Harn, XO

Sid remained silent. Harn had this as well as his officers. He did not need to micromanage it.

Parker CO

=/\=Understood. All wings, designate drones as bogeys. Remember; don’t shoot them all down, we need to scare them home not destroy.=/\= Ael took a pause. =/\=Assume attack positions. Banner, you and I will take 1 or 2 down, then crossfire only. Keep them moving, not dead. Let’s go.=/\=

-Lt(j.g.) Ael Khev, Apex

The radio chatter remained persistent.

=^= Ch’zaolrirh to Dragoon. We have six members of the Dragoon’s crew here with us. I am tagging them now for you. We need you to extract them =^=

=^=Acknowledged Chzaolrirh,=^= Jason replied. =^=We’ll beam them up as soon as we’re sure that it’s safe to drop the shields.=^=

Jason Harn, XO

=^= Ch’zaolrirh to all. The away team is splitting up. I’m taking a security officer to investigate that hill. I suspect it is where the drones originated. Mr. Kolar is taking another security officer to the nearby village. I suppose that leaves the transmitter site to the fighter wing. =^=

COS Ch’zaolrirh

The Captain listened to the chatter. Turning loose the pilots always meant excitement.

Parker CO

The Captain was thinking as well, unbeknownst, to his COS that there was a lot of moving parts to the mission at the moment. He almost pushed his com button to tell Balfor to tighten the groups up and consolidate actions. However he did not. Things tended to get chaotic before they solidified and he knew Balfor was going to do that soon. If not he would get involved but he trusted his men on the ground and in the air.

Parker CO

OOC: Just giving everyone something to do…

Luke

Mirri glanced back at Parker “Do you want me to move in closer?” She asked “Or just stand by.”

Helm

“edge in closer but not too close.” He responded.

Parker CO

The Counselor looked on as the Olinski headed closer to the action. Part of him was excited to see something on the view screen, but another part was worried about those weapons. Trevor knew the away team and pilots had everything under control.

CNS

Nineve watched closely as they moved forward. She had never actually seen something like this in real life, only trained for it considering she knew she was going to be put on the Olinski. It was exciting, but also quite different than anything she could’ve been expecting.

Nineve, Scientist

Mirri nodded and nudged them slightly closer, however maintained a safe distance. She reset their orbit and waited.

Helm

“Remember everyone. Just because we are on the back lines of this fight does not mean it can’t come to us in a hurry. Be ready and think out of the box. Give me the unexpected so we are ready for anything when it comes. More importantly what we are doing right now is supporting the ones on the planet and the Dragoon.” The Captain reminded them all.

Parker CO

The Captain knew from experience that the focal point of the mission was coming. What was below the surface was the real mission now. They had to find out what was really going on. The Olinski was not in the best position to do in depth scans. However the Dragoon and Kolar’s team were the best chance to find out what was happening.

Parker CO

Mirri looked over her shoulder “Captain…I’ve already got a couple of routes input into the system in case we need to get closer to the surface and try to avoid the majority of those towers that can disable us.” She said “We can do a dip and run and possibly get out before they can target us.”

Helm

“I have scanners operating–if we need to use them for anything I’m at the ready.” Nineve commented as she was focused on the scanners’ output.

Nineve, Scientist

The Captain really wanted to get in closer but knew that there was enough fire power overhead already. If the Olinski was compromised it would cause things to turn to the worse.

“Hold here Lt. but good thinking.’ He told Mirri.

“Lets scan around the planet. Look at the system. Maybe there are hints out here what is under there.” He said indicating the planet.

Parker CO

As the sensor output was produced, there did not seem to be anyway of piercing the crust of the planet to see what was under it. All the sensors would show was a normal planetary crust, even though the away team had discovered an underground passageway with wires and conduits. There would be something that was creating the ‘smokescreen’ for the sensors, but Nineve could not see it. However, at the south pole of the planet, under a kilometre or so of ice, a space ship was detected.
