“You know when those who always maintain control lose it, that can be very distressing. Especially when that control is taken by another. A stranger as it were. It can cause a cascade of other issues. Doubt and uncertainty when previous there was none. Questioning yourself, and even anger toward others. I think everyone would feel that same emotional response in a situation. In fact its quite normal.” He added.

He believed she was suffering the same effects of someone who was physically violated who had previously been in control of most of their life. She was displaying those signs. If not controlled now then PTSD and even deep depression could occur. However usually this was in extreme cases.

Doolittle

The fact he added they were in good hands that weren’t hers set her hackles on end for a moment. It then occurred to her he was only reassuring her that she didn’t have to be the protector all the time. She settled again and shook her head. “I know… I know…”

As he spoke of acceptable responses, Xandra shook her head. “That’s just it. I’m not upset. I mean, I am upset I reacted in a way that put Ric and the others in possible danger. But I don’t think I was mad at anyone, or anything, else.”

She growled and flopped back down into the chair she had been in. “So how am I ‘supposed’ to feel? Mad at some inanimate planet for giving me a amnesia migraine? at the people who had the machines built? At medical for clearing me afterwards? Who am I supposed to be ‘naturally mad’ at, Doc?” She looked up at him and defiance and anger were plain in her eyes. She hadn’t even known she was affected till Ric got mad and ordered her here. She couldn’t be mad at him. The planet wasn’t to blame, it didn’t choose what happened to those around it. And being mad at the people who built the machines…

Part of her wasn’t sure why she wasn’t mad at them. Another part of her wasn’t sure why she ‘should’ be. Her whole world, in a moment, had been spun on its ear, and turned upside down. And it wasn’t even dinner time, yet.

OOC: Care if the CNS joins? :)

-Ray
OOC: Certainly

OOC: So Sorry. Went on a business trip and forgot about this extra character I was playing. Enjoying it too. Bad on me and my apologies. sure you can join. Doolittle is one of your guys. Think of him as a nose in the air British stiff upper lip kinda guy.
IC:

“You are free to feel anyway you want. That’s the point isn’t it. There is no wrong way to feel. It’s ok to be upset and even confused. Recognizing that and admitting that is the best way to get past this.” He answered calmly in his even English tone.

Doolittle

Xandra laughed and shook her head. “Of course… feel any way I want. But you DO know there is a wrong way to feel. I think I will simply remain unsure about what truly happened. And I will retrain myself on the ships and shuttles. Whatever may have temporarily addled my mind in the last few cycles, I can clear and move beyond. And soon, when Ric is satisfied I am well, I will return to my duties as Squad Leader.”

She sighed and leaned back in her chair. “Ric will never trust me again....” she half murmured. “I couldn’t remember, for a single away mission, what ship I was one. How can he have faith in me doing what I need when I’m alone?”

Xandra
Pilot

“The question is not if Ric or anyone else trust you. Do you trust yourself?” Doolittle asked.

Doolittle

She shook her head and looked back out the window. “I don’t think I trust my answer, even if I could come up with one. I thought I trusted myself just a few hours ago. And I was wrong. So if I have to answer now… I would say ‘No’.”

Xandra

The Counselor had mad his way down to Sickbay to visit Stephanie, but found a nurse had taken her to the lounge for lunch. Overhearing the exchange between Xandra and Doolittle, Trevor approached the pair.

“Everything okay?” The Counselor asked, focusing his attention on the pilot.

CNS

Doolittle, being very egocentric, did not like his commanding officer interrupting him but knew he had nothing to say about it. So he ignored him.

“What do you think is necessary for you to trust yourself?” He asked as if the CNS had not walked up.

Doolittle (slightly arrogant and self assured English snob)

((Ooc… Lol…a little confused. CNS (supervisor) walking up on Xandra and Councilor? Or CO (commanding officer) walking up on them?… Meli ))

OOC: Its Doolittle’s commanding officer in his CoC so he is referring to the CNS. Obviously funny that Doolittle is being played by me who actually is the CO.
