Xandra wanted to hear that… She NEEDED to hear that. But something made her pause. Without even glancing at the councilor, caves took a step forward. “Sir, I can’t do that.”

Her heart was pounding so hard she actually parted her lips to breath thru her mouth because she thought she’d explode. Never in her career had she ever defied her Commanding Officer. “I’ve been grounded by the CAG till we see why my mind went… Why I got confused on the surface earlier.” She took another step forward. “I feel fine now but I can’t guarantee that it won’t occur again if I’m near the planet. I came to ask permission to have an escort accompany me while I find out if my lapse was an isolated incident, or the planet still affecting me after my blackout with the microwave emitters earlier.”

She quickly as for verification. “It could help in treating those with long term exposure once they are rescued, in case there’s a correlation.” Admitting a weakness in medical was one thing. Yet here she was… On the bridge… Telling her Captain ‘No’ and admitting she’d screwed up a while ago. Her hands clenched and unclenched at her sides with hey obvious nervousness at the situation. Something else no one was used to seeing from the CAGs right hand and squadron leader.

Xandra
Pilot (grounded)

“Lt.” He said as he pivoted his head toward her slowly. “You know what your capable of and not.I can order you to the Sickbay where you can undergo a lot more examination or you can take an action. Be that in a fighter or in a shuttle etc..I don’t pay you to tell me what you cannot do. I pay you to tell me what you can do.”

Parker CO

The Captain then looked forward again.

“Update on the Dragoon away team. Are they on the unknown ship?” He asked Science.

Parker CO

Mirri nodded “Yes sir. Toro and Gould are on the derlict ship.” She said “At least that’s what I understand from the comms chatter.” She said

Helm

The Counselor silently cursed in his head. One look at Doolittle and Trevor knew things were going to get any better. “I would need to spend more time with you in order to declare you unfit for duty, Lieutenant.” The CNS said turning to the Pilot.

“Doolittle, any thoughts?” He asked.

CNS

“I suppose a non combat role might work but my official position is that she stay on the ship until I have more time to work with her.” He said in his English accent.

Doolittle was no fool. He was not going to anger or countermand a senior SF captain but nor was he going to say anything that would smear his own professional reputation.

The Captain for his part was back to concentrating on the task at hand. He had left it in Primage’s hands and he was not about to make the decision, and thus her facing a tough decision, for her.

Parker CO/Doolittle

“Lieutenant?” The Counselor said returning to face the Pilot. “You’ve heard from both the Captain, and Doolittle.” Trevor stated. “What’s your decision?” Neither he nor Doolittle had enough information on the Pilot to ground her, other than the CAG’s order to stay on the ship. Now that the Captain overrode that order, it was up to Primage to decide what to do next.

CNS

=^=Olinski, can you scan the area around the following coordinates?”=^= He uploaded the information. =^=If safe, we could use a site to site transport to that location.=^=

Balfor Kolar CSO

Xandra looked from the Captain to her councilors. “We can’t do any tests on this ship that will make a difference. I’m going down.” She glanced at the Captain. “Thank you, Sir,” she nodded and headed for the hallway. “I will take a shuttle so you can both accompany me if you wish. But the only way to know if it’s me or the planet, is to go to the planet.” She stepped into the lift and waited to see if they would follow.

((ooc… fast forward a bit to the hangar bay… making new thread “Seeking Permission” to join Ric in CIC))

Xandra
Pilot

No one was stopping him and it might his only chance to obsere crew psychology in an away mission. So he went with her. She might also need him there. He knew…knew she was still unstable at the base level. His intervention might be needed.

Doolittle

The Ops officer looked at the Science station and then back at his.

=^=Scan commencing Away Party=^= He answered him.

(Await GM answer here)
Random NE at Ops

The scans reveal that the area the CSO was referring to was deep in the crust and had quite a high temperature. Even the Vulcans would find the temperature difficult to endure. It was probable that there were equipment there that was utilising the heat from the planet’s mantle to power the complex. As that was shut down, the equipment was now offline.

Mirri wondered what had upset Pilgrimage so much in her last flight. She had been through some tight spots, but it never occurred to her to stop flying. She kept her attention on her panel in front of her and waited for any additional orders she also monitored the comms channel for any indication that either away team needed help.

Helm

=^=Olinski, the point on the scan doesn’t seem to be the end point. We are going to need a massive scan. Do you need us to return to execute the investigation?=^= That was more a question about needing him, Kolar as the Chief Science Officer, to take the lead in what was going to be a huge project (as far as he knew).

Kolar CSO

=^=Leave the COS in charge. Were beaming you back to figure this out up here where you can do more good I think.=^=

Parker CO

=^=Aye, Aye, Captain.=^=

Kolar

GM

The Captain awaited his CSO to arrive on the Bridge. Now they would start getting the final pieces of the puzzle.

Parker CO

As the science officer made his way to bridge, the chief of security chimed back in:

=^= Ch’zaolrirh to Olinski. The remaining members of away team one intend to proceed to the hub 40km below our current location. Do we have any working ATVs aboard the Olinski at present? If so, requesting one on-site. =^=

COS Ch’zaolrirh

Already off site, Kolar had to communicate back to the away team, “Scans suggest that the corridors lead to below ground geo-thermal power conversion equipment. So the trip itself might be moot since the machinery has already been deactivated.” He paused as he looked at the heat gradient, “Plus its seveal degrees over the temperture Federation ships are set at, which is already several degrees warmer than Andoria,=^= another pause =^=I don’t think you’d find it enjoyable Mr. Ch’zaolrirh.=^=

While the Counselor had thought about joining Xandra and Doolittle, he knew the Pilot was in safe hands. Lieutenant Trainor had dabbled in the medical field at one point in time, and found it more helpful to keep tabs on the Lieutenant’s vitals during her time on the planet.

For now, Trevor stood watch near one of the science consoles to keep an eye on the Lieutenant. Maybe the Pilot was right after all.

CNS

CSO

“I’m going to uplink the away team’s tricorders to my scanners.” Kolar said as he started playing with the sensor systems. “Clearly the drones and the tunnels are connected to this ship somehow. There in no way two significantly higher tech devices would be on a single planet by two different sources.”

He looked at the away team search the ship. “Fusion reactors, but its not a large ship.”

Kolar getting his bearing.

=^= Ops to Security Chief. Can we beam you one because if we can then we can also beam you a little deeper in the tunnels? If not then we can beam several as deep as we can.=^=

The Captain knew they had some terrain vehicles in storage but they had never had the chance to use them.

Parker CO

It seemed there was no point in venturing further into the planet’s crust. The COS sent a quick response back to Kolar. =^= Understood Mr. Kolar. =^=

COS Ch’zaolrirh

Mirri looked back “Captain, we’re in a high orbit, I can take us into a lower orbit and we may be able to enhance the transporter beams to get lower into the tunnels.” She said as a suggestion.

Helm

“Tunneling with phasers probably would be more effective, if you are willing. Lowering orbit might make out a more inviting target to any defense system.”

Kolar
