Gould could not detect anything like a super weapon. The ship had some sophisticated weapons but they were just energy beam weapons and projectile weapons. Their power was unknown of course but from what he could make out from the schematics the kind of weapons they were.

GM

“Well, it’s advanced, but it’s not exactly the Death Star.” Michael said, referring to an antique earth film, and confirming that he was a nerd. “But why are you here?” He searched for an original mission log of some kind.

-Lt Michael Gould, CE

A few minutes went by before the Dragoon called back. Jason Harn was using his ‘serious voice’ that was usually only heard during starship combat.

=^=Dragoon to away team, permission to restore power to the Iconian ship has been granted, I repeat, permission to power up the Iconian ship has been granted. I just hope you know what you’re doing down there.=^=

Jason Harn, XO, glad that they have a spare starship in orbit

Toro made her way back to Could “We have a door at the far end and nothing else that I can see. What have you found?” She asked

CIO

Gould finds a log entry that suggests that the Iconium ship was hoping to colonise the planet.

GM

“It’s a colony ship.” =/\=Gould to Harn, it’s a colony ship. God help us. It probably shut down when all the Iconians were off the ship.=/\= He started trying a remote startup of the warp core. “I’ll try restarting her from here. If I can’t, we’ll have to do it the old fashioned way.”

-Lt Michael Gould, CE

But Harn was concentrating on the part about the colony ship. Or maybe he was just trying to delay the reactivating of the Iconian ship as long as possible. Either way like all bosses, no matter how well meaning, he was determined to be a distraction. =^=A colony ship? Do you have access to any DNA records? We can compare them to medical readings the landing party took of the ‘natives’.=^=

Jason Harn, XO, on a different page

There was a database of personnel on the ship but it was going to take some time to translate the files so that they can interpret the data. Only after that would they be able to do a comparison with the people that the away team had met.

GM

“Well this is only going to take forever.” =/\=Gould to Harn. You’re about to receive a crew manifest. It still needs translating, but there are only two of us and so many consoles down here, and I still need to get this bird running.=/\=

=^=Understood,=^= Jason replied. =^=Harn out.=^=

Michael tapped a few things to transmit the crew information to the Dragoon. “Toro. You said you saw a hatch. We’re on a clock, you didn’t happen to see a warp core too?”

-Lt Michael Gould, CE

As he was sending the information, he noticed a flashing symbol. Next to the symbol was a link to another interface. When he touched it, he found the data regarding the warp core. There had been no more fuel for the warp core; that is why it was offline. Diagnostics that were automatically run when the fusion generators were activated showed that except for minor misalignments, the warp core was still able to function if there were fuel.

Toro’s hatch did not lead to the warp core but to the warp engines. The tendrils that had dug deep into the planet was connected to what was the warp engines.
