Doolittle waited for his guide to take him to the Sick Bay.

Doolittle

He was brought to a sickbay that was about half the size of that found in the Olinski. There were two crew members there and about three civilians.

“Yes,” the more senior medic asked, “is there I can do for you?”

GM

‘Dr. Doolittle from the USS Olinski. We are here to render assistance if needed.” Doolittle said with as much officialness he had.

He looked over at the COS. Again here was a ship that had made an emergency landing on a planet, not an every day kind of thing to happen, and they seemed almost too at ease. Doolittle’s training something was not right here even if everything seemed just fine.

“Welcome on board Doctor,” the medic in blue answered, “I am Dr. Moore, Joseph Moore. We did not have a bad landing and so there were no injuries then. However, when the storm struck, the psychological impact was more significant. Mrs. Kingston in bed 4 had to be sedated because it was her first trip out of her colony and she had never experienced a storm like we had. Weather control and all that …” Moore said sympathetically.

“If you would like to help out Mrs Pitch and her son. She is extremely worried about the psychological impact the storm had on her son. He is only six months old,” Moore pointed out a rather young woman sitting with an infant in her arms.

GM

“Of course Dr.” Doolittle said and moved toward the mom and small child.

Doolittle knew that there was no psychological impact on a 6 month old baby. One they could not form permanent memories. Another is that even if they could in this stage of development they were concentrated on food and very basic things. Even if the event had scared the child it would not be remembered and they would return to their normal primary needs state with no issues. Maybe the Dr was offering him a hint the mother had been the one traumatized.

“Mrs Pitch I am Dr. Doolittle of the USS Brian Olinski. As you might have heard we are here to assist you. Is there anything I can do at the moment for you personally?” He asked in a low, neutral but caring voice.
