Ric could hear the concern in her voice. =^=Wish I could tell you more, Sehlat. The holo-doctors are here looking at the crew. All they’ve told me is that this is happening all over the ship. Nobody’s sure where the source came from. Whether there was a bug on the Sierra, or on the surface. Nobody knows yet. All three of us were out of the cockpit and on the ground. That’s why I want you to stay isolated for the time being. I’m feeling fine so far. You okay? Apex, how about you?=^=

Ricochet (CAG)

Xandra was more than relieved to hear his voice and it was evident in her response. “I’m fine, Ric…” the words probably more familiar than they should have been on open comms. But Xandra didn’t care. “I think Apex is still in his fighter. Ric… everyone in the bay is gone. Please tell me they are in sick bay and not in a pile somewhere.” She tried to make it a joke, but it came out forced.

=^=The bay was empty when I came in. Didn’t even think about that. I couldn’t get a response from CIC so I came straight up here after bailing out, and I found everybody like this. I’ll reach out to the flight crews to see where they are.”

After cutting the call to Xandra, Ric contacted Chief Cooter, the hear of the fighter maintenance crew.

=^=Ricochet to Cooter. Where are the flight crews, Chief?=^=

=^=Commander, this is Cooter. We’re all holed up in the pilot briefig room. I got a call from CIC. Said people were dropping unconscious. They told us to bug out and isolate ourselves. The briefing room was the largest nearby room that could hold us all. I’ve been trying to get some answers to what’s going on, but nobody’s answering my calls. What’s happening?=^=

=^=Wish I knew, Chief. Everyone in CIC is catatonic. EMH’s are here looking at them. If everybody on your team appears to be okay, stay there for the time being. Sooner or later, someone will give you the green light.=^=

=^=Roger, CAG.=^=

Ric then relayed the info he had just learned back to Xandra.

Ricochet (CAG)

Xandra hadn’t expected Ric to come back with a response. When relayed the conversation with Coot, she exhaled in relief. The idea of finding the bodies laying like a pile of loose parts had made her skin crawl.

She nodded slightly then responded. =^=Thanks, RIc… I’ll stay in the hanger, but I’m gonna look around. I’ll check in in ten min.=^= She took a breath and added, =^=I promise I won’t touch anything.=^=

Xandra

She saw two EMHs tending to those who were collapsed. After doing scans and using hyposprays, the patients were transported out. One of the EMHs turned to her and scanned her. “You seem okay. Did you witness the individuals collapsing?”

GM

Xandra shook her head. “No… I arrived just after Ri… after the CAG. The hanger was empty. What’s going on? And is the CAG safe up in CIC?” She wanted reassurances from them, here and now, that Ric was going to be all right.

Xandra
Pilot

From CIC, Ric looked out the window and saw Xandra talking with the EMH. When she looked up, he waved and gave her a thumb’s up, indicating he was, at least for the current time, okay. He moved away from the window and a few moments later arrived in the fighter hanger.

“Xandra, you okay?”

Ricochet (CAG)

It took her balling her fists to create pain her palms to keep her from running at Ric to hug him. “I’m ok, Ric… I promise. I think Apex is staying in his fighter. You ok?” She looked him up and down making sure he didn’t look hurt. “What’s going on? Something sweep thru the ship while we were gone? And if so…” Suddenly she had an idea.

Her hand on his arm to tug him out of hearing of the EMHs, she whispered and shook her head. “Did the shuttle bring this back? Did we LET them bring this back?” Her fear was almost tangible on the edge of her tongue. “We need to check it out! I’ll grab a tricorder and go over every inch, Ric.” She turned suddenly to head for the EMHs to get a tricorder and do just that.

Xandra
Pilot

After several minutes, the tricorder did not show anything out of the ordinary. There was nothing that could be considered a foreign contagion.

GM

She was back at the front of the shuttle, the tricorder still silent in her hands. “I don’t understand… how did something get on the ship?” She glanced around to see if Ric was still nearby so she could tell him what she had discovered. Or rather, what she hadn’t…

She would find Ric pacing back and forth through the fighter bay, wearing his Sherlock Holmes hat (figuratively). deep in thought, he hadn’t noticed her return.

The CAG was thinking out loud, talking to himself.

“Xandra, Ael, and I were on the planet, yet we aren’t showing any signs of this contagion, plus people already seemed to be affected by the time we came aboard. That leaves who ever was on the shuttle or the lady with the kid. . . . . “

He explained his thiking to the others. “There was a woman passenger and her child on Sierra. The woman was pretty rattled and didn’t want to travel any further on the Sierra, so they were brought on to the Olinski. My guess it wasn’t to long after they got on board that things started going wonky. . .”

Ric slapped his comm badge. =^=Ricochet to Sickbay. Dr. Doolittle, have you run a physical on the Sierra passenger and her child that came aboard?=^=

(Insert reply)

=^= Did you do any kind of psionic scans on either of them? Was there any kind psionic ability noted? They could be affecting the crew and not even realize it.=^=

=^=We did a complete medical check. No abnormalities detected to include brain activity.=^=

Ric was nowhere near being an expert on psionics, but he knew enough that a great amount of stress could cause activity to manifest . . .

Ricochet (CAG)

Xandra watched him a moment. She knew this side of him. She saw it often enough as she sat on his couch doing shift schedules while he talked out training sims pacing the room. She smiled gently and touched his arm as he waited for the medical report to come back. “Ric, I scanned the shuttle. There was nothing in or on it that registered. It had to have come on board some other way.” She hadn’t heard anything but his call to medical. “You think there was a psionic on there that had a meltdown that caused,” she glanced around with a slight wave of her arm, “all this?”

Ric reached over and placed his hand on top of hers. “The Olinski transferred a passenger from the Sierra. A lady and her infant son. None of this started until they came aboard. . . I was just playing a hunch. The lady was pretty upset, the child seemed fine. I was thinking maybe the stress she was under might have had something to do with everybody going into a coma. I’m not saying she did it purposely, hell, she may not of even realized she was doing it.”

“Still. . . .my gut is telling me she is somehow involved.”

He starred at the hangar doorway, contemplating his next move. “Maybe she’s not telling us everything about why she was so adamant about getting off the Sierra.”

“Computer, where is Mrs. Pitch currently?”

“She is in her quarters,” replied the computer.

GM

After the reply, he looked at Xandra and asked, “Feel like breaking this stay-at-home order and do some investigating?”

Ricochet (CAG)

Xandra nodded and smiled. “You bet! And I’m betting we aren’t as intimidating as security, either. I’m betting she is in need of a bit of non probing or staring support right about now.” She let go of his arm after a quick squeeze of reassurance and solidarity. Then needed a long break after this was over, she thought. “Hope you are good with kids.” She laughed and winked teasing him.

Xandra

As they headed out of the hangar, Ric replied, “Are you kidding? Uncle Ric? I’ve got 4 sisters, all with two kids. The kids love me, because I’m the fun uncle.”

The two eventually made their way to the guest quarters and found Mrs. Pitch’s cabin. Before ringing the chime, Ric listened for any sound coming from inside.

When he did ring, he added, “Mrs. Pitch? It’s Cmdr O’Shea and Lt. Primage. We just wanted to check n with you to make sure you and your son are getting on okay.”

Ricochet (CAG)

Xandra smiled and shook her head. “Cool Uncle… maybe. But something tells me, as a Dad it would be an entirely different story,” she looked at him teasing and then back the way they were going.

When he knocked on the door, she bit her lip wondering how warm a welcome they would received. Not thinking, she touched his hand and waited.

Xandra
Pilot

Mrs. Pitch came to the door. “Yes?” she asked when she saw the two at the door. She was smiling.

GM

Xandra smiled back. “Mrs Pitch, this is Commander O’Shea and I’m Lieutenant Prescott. I was wondering if we could come in and speak to you a moment. Is that all right?” Was better to stat polite and get a little more stern if they had to, than descend on the woman like she was suspected of something nefarious.
