SNIP

Nurse T’fanni, a short slender woman with raven black hair approached Doolittle holding a PADD in her long spidery fingers. “Petty Officer Carras is one quarter Betazoid,” she announced softly. It was only then that the others noticed her pointed ears.

Nurse T’fanni of Vulcan

“And just a little more Vulcan I believe.” Was the reply by Doolittle. “We are in a pinch. Nurse T’fanni can you try and reach this crewman on a telepathic level?”

“I could, but then I would expose myself to the contagion,” the greenblooded nurse replied heartlessly. “Even telepathic contact is still contact. And as a touch telepath I would have to touch the patient physically as well as mentally.”

Nurse T’fanni, not quite as heroic as Mr. Spock and may take some convincing
Doolittle

“Nurse you took an oath, like everyone in the medical field and in this room took. It was not a “when it pleases me” oath nor a one of convenience and not even self preservation. Like many professions, SF not the least amongst them, we are sometimes required to do those things which on the face of them seem counter to our own safety but never the less necessary. It is illogical to sign up for this duty and not realize and even accept it. Not to mention if we do not find the solution to this problem it can very well endanger the whole ship and as a result you as well.” Doolittle said using his psychiatry skills to good use. If it worked or not is another thing.

Doolittle

T’fanni surrendered gracefully, but it was not clear if her decision stemmed from Doolittle’s logical argument or her desire to end his emotional appeal. “Very well, I suppose that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few,” she murmured as she massaged her hands. “This shall require deep concentration,” she added as she bowed her head and closed her eyes. She then opened her eyes, straightened her posture and approached the patient. As she leaned over the stricken crewman she placed her hand over his face and spread her long spidery fingers but just before she actually touched his face…

Redding, who was on biobed 4, sat up quietly and stood up.

GM

Distracted, Nurse T’fanni stood up straight as her left eyebrow rose a quarter of a centimeter.

OOC: Is Redding the patient who T’fanni was going to mind touch with or is Redding a different patient?

Nurse T’fanni, who probably should have posted earlier

OOC: Different patient.
IC:

“Never seen you get that passionate before, Doolittle.” Trevor laughed. The Counselor’s back was towards Redding so he didn’t realize the man was standing at the moment. “How long should it take to do a mind meld?” Trevor asked, as he never witnessed one done before.

CNS

“Michaels!” Doolittle called out.

“Crewman are you alright?” He asked Redding, not remembering his name.

Doolittle MD

At that moment a call came in from the fighter bay. . .

=^=Ricochet to Sickbay. Dr. Doolittle, have you run a physical on the Sierra passenger and her child that came aboard?=^=

Doolittle was busy to say the least but was able to blurt out.

=^=We did a complete medical check. No abnormalities detected to include brain activity.=^=

OOC: As a note they did check into that with a complete scan if I remember correct. tricorder on the planet and then biobed on the Olinski. Should have picked up abnormal brain activity.

=^= Did you do any kind of psionic scans on either of them? Was there any kind psionic ability noted? They could be affecting the crew and not even realize it.=^=

Ricochet (CAG)

Doolittle

As the conversation was going on, Redding moved towards the exit.

GM

“Not so fast Redding…” The Counselor stated as he watched the man walking towards the exit. Trevor quickly walked over to Redding and placed a hand on the man’s shoulder to try and guide him back to the biobed. “We definitely need to run more tests on you before you leave.”

CNS

The only response from Redding was that he stopped moving. As the counselor moved to turn the man around, the counselor was confronted with an expressionless face except for the eyes. The eyes showed terror.

GM

Nurse T’fanni approached Redding and Michaels, ready to assist. “Come this way Mister Redding,” she said softly. When she noticed the naked fear in Redding’s eyes her left eyebrow rose a third of a centimeter.

Nurse T’fanni, placing herself close to the action in case the GM needs to take out an NPC to illustrate a danger to the PCs

Nurse T’fanni, ready

“Nurse..T’fanni. Now is the time to mind meld with this man.” Doolittle said/ordered.

Doolittle knew this might be the time to get answers. He also had the suspicion the man was being controlled. However no scans had indicated parasitic infestation or other clear evidence it something like that. This left a psionic or telepathic root.

Doolitlte

“Aye-aye Doctor,” Nurse T’fanni nodded before speaking to Redding softly. “Everything will be all right, you won’t be alone anymore.” She extended her right hand up to his face and spread her long spidery fingers. “You aren’t alone… My mind to your mind… My thoughts… to your thoughts…”

OOC: If an NPC is due to get their butt kicked, this is probably the time

Nurse T’fanni, expendable NPC

((ooc… sorry for the inturruption snip… trouble following on cell))

What Nurse T’fanni experienced was terror. Redding was still in full control of his emotions and mind, but not in control of his actions. He kept repeating: Help, cannot control my body … Help …

GM

T’fanni trembled, shivering as her normally stoic features were contorted by fear. “Help!” she stammered out painfully. “I cannot control my body! Help!” She pulled her hand away from Redding’s face, staggered backwards and stroked her hand as if she had injured it. Composing herself, she stood perfectly erect cleared her throat and said “Mister Redding is requesting assistance, he is unable to control his body. In addition he is currently suffering from a panic attack, an understandable reaction to his predicament.”

Nurse T’fanni, more disturbed by the mind meld than she is admitting

Doolittle had a thought. He could administer a shot that would make Reddings body not react to any stimuli internal or external or he could let the man go. He knew his medical duty was to protect then man but they would get nowhere if they did not learn the cause or person behind the mind control.

“Let him go and lets follow. We cannot cure this man and the source of this mind control is unknown. I can use a hypo on him to make him paralyzed if he tries to harm himself or someone else. Security can follow as well.” Doolittle said looking at Michaels, who was technically the higher ranking officer.

Doolittle

“This shall be interesting…” Lieutenant Michaels stated. The Counselor moved to the side to make room for Redding if he chose to leave once more. “I’m wondering if the others have control over their emotions as well.” Trevor knew that was probably the case, but they also didn’t receive any calls about the others waking up.

CNS

Redding did not move for about twenty seconds after being unrestrained but then continued to move out of sickbay and proceeded towards a turbolift.

GM

Doolittle, the Counsellor and the the nurse followed Redding as he exited sickbay.

In the meantime, another of the patients tumbled off the bed …

GM

=^= Michaels to Bridge, our patients are moving around in a trance like state.=^= The Counselor called out as they followed Redding. =^= Doolittle, Nurse T’fanni and myself are following Redding right now, but be advised he may not be the only one walking about....=^=

CNS

Mirri docked with the Olinski and contacted Sickbay =^=Sickbay this is Lt Lawerance. I have returned to the ship and have been directed to contact you before leaving the shuttle.=^= She said.

Helm

The patient who tumbled out of bed stumbled up and moved tentatively towards the doors of sickbay.

GM

The two security officers stationed in Sickbay moved forward to intervene.

Dr. Jaksu’mir’sor’rami or Jak as he was known moved forward too.

“Crewman. Can here hear me? Blink twice if you can hear me?” The Acamarian Dr said.

NE with a name Jak
