SNIP

Xandra had been cleared weeks ago from her stranglation of the CAG due to alien control. She ocassionally had doubts, but it was more having to do with her personal rather than professional abilities. =^=Aye, Captain… Re squad scrambling now.=^= She notified her squad, who were on second standby so ready to go, and showed up in the hanger as she saw Apex stepping up into his own craft.

A quick wave to him and within less than 30 minutes, just 10 minutes behind Green Squad who had been in the hanger on call already, Red Squad reported in they were seated and ready to launch.

Xandra glanced around to see if Ric was going to join them, or if he was up in the CIC looking down on the birds lined up.

Lt Alexandra Primage
“Little Sehlat”
Green Leader

As much as he wanted to be out in the black, Ric thought it best to coordinate from CIC. He saw Xandra look up and he nodded to her in return.

=^=Red Squad, you are go for launch as soon as Green Squad is clear. Gold & Blue Squad, you are on standby.=^=

A quick confirmation from Gold and Blue Squad leaders showed they were ready if needed.

=^=Apex, Sehlat, the Santiago has been attacked and taken damage. Problem is we don’t know from who yet. Right now, the Breen and Tholians are caught up in a pissing match. Do not engage with either of those two hostile forces. Repeat–do not engage with the Breen or Tholians unless fired upon. Provide support to the Olinski and Santiago as needed.”

A moment later he flipped the switch to the bridge. =^=Bridge, this is CIC. Red and Green Squads have launched and are provident cover support to the Santiago and Olinski. Blue and Gold Squads are standing by.=^=

Ricochet (CAG)

Xandra growled. Provide support, but don’t fire unless fired upon. What were they supposed to do? Yell that ones fighting were shooting the wrong ship. Instead of the growl or complaint coming over the comms, her voice was steady and professional. =^=Roger, Olinksi. Protection only, not to engage.=^= She made sure the rest of her squad heard and launched once Apex and his group were away.

Once in the black, she headed for the Santiago and figured the best thing was to get between it and the fighting and perhaps those firing would watch themselves. She just hoped it would work. Last thing she wanted was to have to take sides in a war they weren’t even a part of.

Xandra
Red Ldr
“Sehlat”

^= Ric bring one of your squads off our flanks a little and be prepared to head to the homeworld in case they start some thing there. We can give air support to an away team.=^= Came the Captain voice over the CIC coms.

Parker CO

=^=Roger, tower, Red Squad is ready to go planetside,=^= Ric replied to the CO.

Switching channels back to the squads, he sent the order. =^=Red Leader, prepare for atmospheric patrol. We’re sending in ground troops and may need to give them air support. Stand by.=^=

=^=Blue Squad, you are clear for launch. Take up flank position vacated by Sehlat and Red Squad=^=
=^=Roger, CAG. Blue Squad is go,=^=, came the reply from “Omaha”, the Blue Squad Leader.

Ricochet (CAG)

=^=Roger, CAG. Red Squad heading for atmosphere.=^= Xandra’s voice was sure and confident as she turned her nose towards the planet and moved into hovering position to await the coordinates where the ground troops would land so they could clear the area for them.

A deep breath inhaled and exhaled thru her lungs as memory control and the familiar feel of her ship loosed the last of the tension from her. She was dark borne once more and it felt good. Not just sim training, not just following Ric as she did maneuvers to be sure she could still fly. This was a true mission. The tension completely melted away and she was, finally, her usual self. She didn’t realize the comms were still open as a small laugh of relief bubbled up and filled the empty space under her canopy.

Xandra
“Sehlat”
Red Ldr

A moment later, Ric opened the channel once again. =^=Apex, standby. Depending on what happens planetside, I want to be ready to give Red squad some extra support. That includes you and I, copy?=^=

Ricochet (CAG)

=/\=Copy that Ric.=/\= Ael replied. As much he liked flying, not being needed yet meant things had yet to go sideways. Always welcome news.

-Lt Ael Khev, Apex
