The trails that the sensors had traced indicated that the ships were still in Federation space and were moving closer to the Tholian space. Both were moving at warp 9.

GM

“It appears the Tholians and Breen weren’t intending on making this area their battleground,” Trevor announced when he stepped back onto the Bridge. “When the Governor tried to contact the pair, the Tholians replied they didn’t have any issue with the planet.” The Counselor added.

Alexandra wasn’t far behind. “And unsurprisingly, the Breen didn’t deign to reply. It is curious that their conflict worked its way all the way here.”

-Lt Alexandra Drake, CoS

“We are trailing their warp signatures while they are in Federation space or neutral space. The Tholians are running like the solar wind at warp 9 and the Breen are right with them. At warp 6 we will be behind them by a bit if they stop now. However if they make it to Tholian space we wont follow.” The Captain said to the Bridge and then officers returning. Also it gave science and the helm their instructions.

Parker CO

“The math isn’t in our favor, we’d have to red line the engines or hope the engagement becomes a standing fight, which it doesn’t appear to be.”

Kolar XO

At the moment, there was a communique from Starbase 214. The content revealed that the Starbase has detected the Tholian and Breen vessels altering course towards the edges of Cardassian space. They had travelled close to the Talarian border but did not enter it. From the trajectory at the moment, they will enter Cardassian space towards the planet Vitar.

GM

The Navigator updated the Captain.

“Starbase 214 has detected the Tholian and Breen vessels altering course towards the edges of Cardassian space. They had travelled close to the Talarian border but did not enter it. From the trajectory at the moment, they will enter Cardassian space towards the planet Vitar.” He updated.

“Very well alter course to match.” The Captain ordered. “Chief Engineer Dal can we punch it up to Warp 8 without damaging the engines?” He then asked the CE.

Parker CO

OOC: There would be no problem with the engines.

IC:

“I’ll be surprised if the Cardassians even send out a ship to greet them,” Michaels stated. The Counselor was hoping as much since it would only make matters worse if they entered the playing field.

CNS

A check on the latest intelligence reports would show that the Cardassian presence in Vitar was not very strong after the Dominion War.

GM

“The Cardassian Fleet is a mere shadow of itself since the war.” Even at its peak it wasn’t a match for the Federation. Which ironically was the part of the reason they joined the Dominion and now was in an even a worse position.

“Should I call ahead and get permission to enter Cardassian space? Even in ‘hot pursuit’ They aren’t to accepting of Star-ships cruising about there space.”

Kolar XO

“No. Even if the Cardassians are weak in that zone it is still a foreign space of an independent power. we just don’t have the authority other than to monitor. If they stay on our side. well that is another matter.” The Captain answered.

Parker CO

The ETA for the Olinski to reach the Cardassian border at that warp speed (8) was at least 7 days.

GM

“If the Tholians and Breen were at each other’s throats, wouldn’t we see more fleet movement from the two?” The Counselor asked, trying to piece together the information they already had.

Michaels
CNS

“A dispute between Captains?, something they’d rather not have anyone notice with major fleet movements?” Alexandra pondered what two ships could be up to on their own.

-Lt Alexandra Drake, CoS

Kolar

As they were speaking, Starbase sent an update. The Cardassians have sent two ships on an intercept course with the Tholians and Breen. If the ships do not change course, they will intercept in Cardassian space in two days.

GM

“Well that means that the Cardassians are aware of what is going on, but two ships… that’s not going to make much of an impact.” Kolar sent a message back asking for names and classes of the Cardassian vessels.

<After some time>

The Olinski had reached within 8 hours of the Cardassian border when Starbase sent in an intelligence report.

At the border, the two Cardassian ships were incapacitated and the Tholian ship had sustained further damage. The Breen ships were now down to two. The Tholian ship remained outside Cardassian space whilst the Cardassian ships managed to stay within their own space. The Tholian ship is moving along the Cardassian border trying to shake off the Breen ships. It was also trying to get round Talarian space to get back to their own space. Meantime, sensors also indicate that there might be Breen reinforcements on the way.

GM

Kolar snorted, a rare display of emotion. “I told you so,” Kolar glanced at the sensors, “we have more Breen working towards the fight.”

=^=Cardassian ships, this is the Olinski, are you in need of assistance?=^=

Kolar

The Captain was worried. This could turn into a regional war.

“Helm open coms to Starfleet Command.” The Captain ordered.

=^=Captain Parker to Star Fleet Command. The Tholian and Breen fight has escalated to a Tholian, Cardassian and Brren fight with the Breen looking like the aggressors. If we intervene we risk getting involved. If we do not we risk an interstellar war. Advise as you can. Meanwhile we will be moving to support a peaceful negotiation. However Breen ships are possibly reinforcing near Talarian space. I am obliged to engage the Breen if I receive no other orders.=^=

“XO get with the CIO and COS. I want a tactical plan in front of me in 10 minutes.” He said to Kolar.

Parker CO

=^=Lieutenant Turcio and Drake please report to conference room 1 on the double.=^= Kolar nodded to the Captain before he left the bridge.

Kolar

“I think this would be time for the enemy of our enemy to be our friends, Captain.” The Counselor said, speaking up. “Obviously, the Tholian ship is no match for the Breen, especially with more on their way.” Lieutenant Michaels added. “Maybe we can open up a dialogue with the Tholians to see what all this ruckus is about?”
