=^=Disregard the disabled ship. All ships that can, fire on the retreating Breen ships=^=

=^=Roger that, Bridge,=^= came the reply from the CAG. =^=We’ll do as much damage as we can before they go to warp. Make’em think twice before returning.=^=

The Captain gave the order himself this time. He knew they would not stop them from leaving but he wanted them to know this would be the cost of engaging in the first place.

“Put room between us and that disabled Breen ship. I don’t want a surprise.” He quietly ordered to Kolar.

Parker CO

“Course 081 mark 12, two thirds impulse power,” Kolar nodded towards the helm officer.

The fighters and the Olinski began firing and the barrage caused the shields of both the Breen ships to fail. Their rear torpedo tubes returned fire. Some of the fighters took out some of the torpedoes before they could hit the Olinski, but the Olinski had their shields reduced to just 5%.

GM

The ship rocked as the torpedos that made it through hit the ship. Sidney eased back down into his chair. He saw the Breen retreating into the distance and knew they would go to warp. However that last hit made sure they would not turn back to fight or even think about it in the near future. He looked over a Kolar.

“Fine job XO.” He said. “Lets get repairs underway with shields a priority. Its unlikely any will return but I don’t want to have no shields if they did.” He ordered.

=^=Damage reports to the XO station.=^= Kolar looked over at his panel… the bad news would roll in soon. =^=Causalities to medical=^=

=^=See what ships need the most help and lets get it to them. Recall all the fighters. Recall all fighters but the ones with some torpedo’s left and in good enough shape to do a perimeter control. See what we can do for the Tholians.=^=

He said all of this on all coms.

=^=We went through a lot of ordinance, Skipper. Everybody’s coming home but a skeleton squad patrolling the perimeter.=^=

Ricochet (CAG)

“I want department status reports as fast as is possible.” He added to the Bridge crew.

Parker CO

Kolar

“Helm issue a surrender order to the damaged Breen ships. They are to stand down. Disarm and drop any shields. We will treat them within the confines of Galactic treaties.” He ordered.

“Aye Sir.” The Helm officer said.

=^=Breen ships still in Federation space. Stand down. Drop Shields if any, Disarm weapon systems. You are prisoner of the Federation of Planets will be treated according to all treaties and conventions.=^=

Parker CO

The two Breen ships’ weapons systems went offline and a message of surrender was sent to the Olinski.

GM

“I wished the demonstrated this level of wisdom, before they invaded our space and fired on us.”

As the fighting subsided James started going over his systems for the report. He relayed orders to his teams to go over them with a fine-tooth comb as he himself focused on keeping an eye on the senors making sure that nothing crept up on them.

CSO

Kolar

“They underestimated the Olinski and this battle group.” Sid answered. “Any report on the Tholians?”

He knew some of his decision making might have been controversial to some of the newer Bridge team but he also was one hundred percent sure of them. Yes they caused causalities on both sides but the price was paid today so it would not be paid tomorrow at a higher rate.

“Great job XO. Its your victory if that means anything.” He said to the XO as he moved away to his Ready Room.

“I’m sure that opinion would stun my professor in Star-ship weapons and tactics class.” His teacher always said he was to willing to retreat and let weaker opponents maneuver rather than forcing the action.

“Don’t board those ships until every last Breen is beamed into the Brig and they are scanned for booby traps. I won’t lose one more person to a battle already won.” He said as he turned back to the Bridge crew.

“Breen aren’t known to be suicidal, they are however more than willing to exchange lives on a one to one basis.... a slight but significant distinction.”

“XO I will be making a report to the Admiral.” He said and then entered his Ready Room a little weary.

Parker CO

When the Captain left, the tactical station observed that one of the Breen ships that surrendered was actually scanning the ships: fighters, web spinners and the Olinski.

GM

Alexandra saw this and chimed in. “Commander, we’re being scanned. One of the ‘surrendered’ Breen ships is scanning everything in the area.” She looked up and awaited orders.

-Lt Alexandra Drake

“Lock phasers on that Breen vessel, open hailing frequency.”

=^=Cease all provocative actions including scanning or be fired upon.=^= It didn’t sound like a bluff for a very good reason.

Kolar

Meanwhile the Captain eased into his chair and hit the com button for a secure com with SFC.

Parker CO

The warning message caused the vessel to cease all scans.

James focused scanners on the vessel, answering scans with scans.

CSO

The scanning vessel had actually been replicating torpedoes as they were fighting. They were attempting to look for any weak spots in the Olinski they had missed.

OOC: Are they still replicating torpedoes?

OOC: Once the warning was given they stopped the activity.

IC:
Meanwhile, in the ready room, Starfleet Command responded to the call from Captain Parker.

=/\=Parker! Report!=/\= a very haggard looking Vice Admiral Pond came into view.

GM

James sent the scan data to the Tactical station. Replicating torpedos and trying to play dead, that was almost clever.

CSO

OOC: Unless you are dealing with the Olinski crew !!!!!

Sidney

IC:

Kolar frowned as he looked at the Captain. “They aren’t really in a position to be provocative. We already brawled once, I can’t imagine the want to do that again.”

Balfor Kolar XO

The Breen had stood down and was waiting for Olinski’s next move. The longer they waited, the more time the Breen could think to retaliate …

OOC: Sorry for the sudden disappearance. Two days ago, the Olinski was the last ship I was posting in when my internet went down and I was not able to complete posting here, although I had posted in other ships.

GM

OOC: NO problem Kenson.

I suggest the CSO lock onto the crew and start to send the crew to the brig in small groups. Security get ready for them. Filtering their weapons in the buffer and they should not be armed.

Sidney

Kolar nodded his agreement. “We could use the cargo bays for any overflow. Put the force field up so they can’t get to any walls and if they get too frisky we could open the bay doors as a warning.”

Kolar

Alexandra headed for the turbolift. “I’ll get us ready to receive our guests.” =/\=Security Dept, we’re beaming some people to the brig, and possibly additionals to the cargo bay. Prep both areas to receive and lock ‘em down.=/\=

-CoS

After a few minutes, the various security teams in place responded that they had the locations mentioned secured.

GM

=^=Captain Parker to COS. Any intel you can get from the Breen is valuable to include just the general status of the population. We still know precious little.=^=

Parker CO
v
“Breen are renown for their not talking…” He tilted his head

James did as suggested, focusing scanners on the Breen lifeforms.

CSO

The sensors were able to detect the genetic information of the Breen. It seemed that the Breen in the ships were actually clones. The computer detected only 19 different genetic maps in all the individuals.

GM
Kolar

OOC: Well that is interesting.

Sidney

James first double-checked the readings before announcing in a clear voice “Captain, The Breen crew seems to consist entirely of clones. I’m only detecting nineteen individual genetic markers” He sounded surprised, if only mildly. To himself, he muttered “This would make an interesting research paper. Perhaps some time studying them with medical”

CSO

The Captain looked at James and then to his XO.

“Leaving the possibility for a research paper aside, the rationale behind that is nearly limitless.” Kolar had come up with three possibilities already. “The more important issue is the forces behind the attack. We could always question the crew. But the it might be easier to figure out where the crew got the warships from. It probably easier to hid a cloning facility that the theft of a dozen warships.”

Kolar

“Perhaps we should leave that to another crew.” He mused. He also knew this meant another trip into the Ready Room and a talk with the Admiral.

Parker CO

The NE from tactical suddenly reported, “Captain! I was curious with regard to the clones. I did a check on the transport just now. The genetic map of the one transported is not Breen!”

GM

James frowned and checked the data and cross-referenced the genetic map through the species database “How in the seven hells did I miss that!” He exclaimed as he quickly worked through the information.

CSO

“Which one did his beam over?”

The transporter scan showed none of the cloned genetic maps, rather that of a Xindi reptilian.

The Captain frowned and looked over to his XO.

“Get to the bottom of it with the COS and CSO. I will be updating the Admiral…again.” He said as he walked toward the Ready Room again.

Parker CO

He looked over to the science officer. “Well they’re just helping us now. Check the genetic lines of each one. The ones that are not clones we need to isolate and the first of each genetic line.. if they are present.” Kolar knew that there was genetic breakdown during the process of cloning. Now it might be hard to see, but over time the copies of copies of copies would show themselves.

Kolar.

OOC: Okay, I see the CMO is supposed to be in this thread according to the subject line. Do you still want her here or should she be in sickbay awaiting all the information?

D…

OOC: As you know its a combat ship. You go where you are needed first and then the housekeeping check list. ;)

Parker CO

IC:

The 19 genetic maps that they had detected were very likely Breen but the transported individual was very certainly a Xindi reptilian. In the scan of the Breen ships, there were not Xindi detected.

OOC: Forgot to add the following.

IC: Two more Breen members were beamed into the Brig. They, too were Xindi reptilians but they were not clones of each other …

GM

“Are we in the midst of some temporal gamesmanship again.” There was a long history of the Xindi and them knowing and acting in their own interest based on a future that had not yet, or may never occur. Which several movies and scientists theorized was impossible. Kolar was more a believer on a combination of the two theories where whenever possible time would heal itself into a single time line, but when impossibilities occurred an new time line was forced into existence. “Do a chronoton scan.”

Kolar

James raised an eyebrow but did as ordered “One Chronoton scan coming up” He announced as his hand flowed across his console, setting the scanners.

CSO

OOC: Apologies for not posting … Sorry!!!

IC: The scans did not show any temporal displacement but interestingly, there was a slight excess of tetryon particles in the vicinity. These were not usually not high in the priority scans in a battle. On further investigation on the logs, there was a possibility that the Breen ship was actually transmitting wrong data to the Olinski giving the Federation ship to detect Breen instead of Xindi. In any case, the Xindi reptiles were wearing Breen uniforms and helmets, hiding visually.

GM

OOC: Hint … boarding the ship might yield some answers …

GM

James blinked twice then rechecked his scan data and sensor logs “Sir, I don’t see any evidence of temporal displacement but there is an unusual excess of tetryon particles. This may imply a sensor trick, tricking us into seeing Breen and not Xindi” He informed the XO

CSO

OOC: That is it!!!

GM

bump?

OOC: There was a sensor trick to make the Xindi in the ships read as ‘Breen’. That was what was happening. Remember that the Breen had declared no involvement of the attack? …

GM

OOC: In case of confusion … I notice that this thread just hung … I am going to summarise the information gleaned from this thread.

So far the bridge crew has discovered that the sensors are reading clones. However, the sensors have been tricked by the Breen ships sending out false readings to show Breen instead of Xindi. That means the Breen ships have been sending out only 19 genetic maps to show the Breen. This means that the Xindi had gambled that with 19 genetic maps, the Starfleet sensors would not realise that there are actually no Breen on board …

GM

OOC: got it!

Sidney

It was some time later when Starfleet HQ hailed the Olinski …

GM

The Captain being informed of the hail by Ops replied.

“Put them on the main view screen.” He ordered.

Generally he did private HQ meetings in his Ready Room but he was not about to just get up and make that trip for the third time.

Parker CO

=/\= Captain Parker, =/\= said Admiral Yamamoto, the flag admiral in charge of situations that might lead to war. =/\=We have reached out to the Breen and they have insisted that they are not responsible for the attacks. They are of the opinion that we might be trying to get an excuse to attack them. Ambassador Skark is handling diplomatic communications with the Breen. Do you have any thing to report from your investigations into the captured Breen ships?=/\=

GM

Kolar tilted his head. “There is enough here to make it less than certain.” The investigation of the clones and their motivation hasn’t gone far enough for one or the other in conclusions to be taken.

Kolar

”=^= We don’t have the full picture Admiral but it appears the Breen are not lying. This appears to be some kind of Xindi mission. They were using Breen clones who apparently are not much better than drones and they were sensor masking themselves from us. However interrogation is getting us nowhere at this point. So I am not sure how to solve the diplomatic problem with the Breen other than to say we reacted like any others would have given what we knew at the time. In effect no Breen citizen lives were lost=^=

Parker CO

Alexandra took some comfort in the idea that conflict with the Breen might be avoided. Though the xindi might not be much better.

-CoS

=/\=The Xindi were using Breen clones?=/\= the Admiral raised his eyebrows in surprise. =/\=Let me get this straight, there are Breen clones. How did you make the connection with the Xindi?=/\=

GM

James didn’t speak up but he wrote a short message to the Captain’s chair “Only nineteen different Breen genetic samplings, the Xindi used tachyon particles to confuse sensors so they wouldn’t detect Xindi lifesigns. Several Xindi reptiles hiding in Breen uniforms against visual examination” He simply sent it as a refresher instead of speaking for him.

CSO

“That’s a poorly conceived plan. They one issue of paramount importance would have been not to leave evidence that they were present. So the Xindi needed to win the encounter or be completely destroyed. Surrender, was quite possibly the worse possible conclusion.”

Kolar

=^=Admiral as my CNS has clarified for me the actual situation is “Only nineteen different Breen genetic samplings, the Xindi used tachyon particles to confuse sensors so they wouldn’t detect Xindi lifesigns. Several Xindi reptiles hiding in Breen uniforms against visual examination”. As my XO has also pointed out they did not expect SF early intervention and how quickly we were able to engage them with a fleet task force. Surrender has not worked out well for them. I suggest we turn them over to SF Detention Services and let an Intel unit take this over.=^=

Parker CO

The Admiral looked as if he was thinking. After about 20 seconds of silence, he looked up. =/\=You will head to Starbase 718 to turn the prisoners to the detention services. You will restock and make repairs. Then I would like you to get to Deep Space 4 to get more intelligence data and your next orders.=/\=

GM

Kolar shrugged, if Parker wanted his opinion, which he certainly didn’t need. Taking prisoners to the nearest starbase wasn’t a difficult decision to make and he was on board with getting the prisoners’ off ship as soon as possible.

Kolar.

It was a no brainer for Sid and he figured everyone else. Get the Xindi off his ship and let someone else deal with them.

=^=Affirmative Admiral. Olinski out.=^=

“Well you heard him Commander. Lets make it happen.” He said as he turned to his XO and awaited for him to convey the orders to the Bridge crew.

He did not get out of his chair. He sat there and wondered what more they wanted out of his ship and crew. They had once again given the highest price and once gain sent to the breach. Sometimes the weight of command was crushing. In fact every year of command added more.

Parker CO

Kolar spun to face the helm. “Set course for starbase seven eighteen. All ahead warp 8.5.” Speeds over warp 8 wasn’t really indicated in this case, but he had zero interest in keeping the prisoners on the ship. They had already demonstrated that they were both terrorists, combatants, and wouldn’t take bets about them being saboteur as well.

Kolar.

His CO allowed himself on the slightest smile. A little heavy on the gas pedal as they might say in the very old days of combustion engines but the right decision. The Captain then settled into his chair and watched the stars go by, so to speak.

Parker CO

The journey to Starbase 718 was without incident. The prisoners were transferred and the Olinski proceeded to Deep Space 4. They were three hours from Deep Space 4 when long range sensors indicated that there was a lot of ship movement near the Phi Virginis system nearby.
