James didn’t speak up but he wrote a short message to the Captain’s chair “Only nineteen different Breen genetic samplings, the Xindi used tachyon particles to confuse sensors so they wouldn’t detect Xindi lifesigns. Several Xindi reptiles hiding in Breen uniforms against visual examination” He simply sent it as a refresher instead of speaking for him.

CSO

“That’s a poorly conceived plan. They one issue of paramount importance would have been not to leave evidence that they were present. So the Xindi needed to win the encounter or be completely destroyed. Surrender, was quite possibly the worse possible conclusion.”

Kolar

=^=Admiral as my CNS has clarified for me the actual situation is “Only nineteen different Breen genetic samplings, the Xindi used tachyon particles to confuse sensors so they wouldn’t detect Xindi lifesigns. Several Xindi reptiles hiding in Breen uniforms against visual examination”. As my XO has also pointed out they did not expect SF early intervention and how quickly we were able to engage them with a fleet task force. Surrender has not worked out well for them. I suggest we turn them over to SF Detention Services and let an Intel unit take this over.=^=

Parker CO

The Admiral looked as if he was thinking. After about 20 seconds of silence, he looked up. =/\=You will head to Starbase 718 to turn the prisoners to the detention services. You will restock and make repairs. Then I would like you to get to Deep Space 4 to get more intelligence data and your next orders.=/\=

GM

Kolar shrugged, if Parker wanted his opinion, which he certainly didn’t need. Taking prisoners to the nearest starbase wasn’t a difficult decision to make and he was on board with getting the prisoners’ off ship as soon as possible.

Kolar.

It was a no brainer for Sid and he figured everyone else. Get the Xindi off his ship and let someone else deal with them.

=^=Affirmative Admiral. Olinski out.=^=

“Well you heard him Commander. Lets make it happen.” He said as he turned to his XO and awaited for him to convey the orders to the Bridge crew.

He did not get out of his chair. He sat there and wondered what more they wanted out of his ship and crew. They had once again given the highest price and once gain sent to the breach. Sometimes the weight of command was crushing. In fact every year of command added more.

Parker CO

Kolar spun to face the helm. “Set course for starbase seven eighteen. All ahead warp 8.5.” Speeds over warp 8 wasn’t really indicated in this case, but he had zero interest in keeping the prisoners on the ship. They had already demonstrated that they were both terrorists, combatants, and wouldn’t take bets about them being saboteur as well.

Kolar.

His CO allowed himself on the slightest smile. A little heavy on the gas pedal as they might say in the very old days of combustion engines but the right decision. The Captain then settled into his chair and watched the stars go by, so to speak.

Parker CO

The journey to Starbase 718 was without incident. The prisoners were transferred and the Olinski proceeded to Deep Space 4. They were three hours from Deep Space 4 when long range sensors indicated that there was a lot of ship movement near the Phi Virginis system nearby.

GM

Toro looked up “Captain, we have a lot of ship movement near Phi Virginia system.” She said putting up what they had picked up on the forward viewer for the bridge crew to see.

CIO

Kolar audibly exhaled. A rarely seen sign of aggravation.

The viewer showed the warp trails that seemed to connect the Typhon Expanse, or the Delphic Expanse (where New Xindus is) with the Neural system. The strange thing is that the trails seem to bypass the Phi Virginis System.

GM

He looked at the screen, “Xindis.” Every 100 years or so they got it in their their heads to terrorize humanity. He surmised it was about time.

Kolars

However, the sensors indicated that there was no ship moving near the Phi Virginis system at the moment.

GM

James brought up any information on recent travel in the Phi Virginis to build a baseline of what was normal and what wasn’t for the secotr.

CSO

OOC: Is the Fleet we assembled still with us? I will let the GM let me know but go forward for now.

OOC: I have been overwhelmed RL by work because of an absent colleague. My apologies foreign absent. As to the Fleet, the ships were reassigned. One had to accompany the Tholians back. The others had to secure the area where the Starbase was.

IC:
“Give me a projected intercept course and warp speed needed to make that interception. Any input before we do this again?” He asked his Bridge crew.

Parker CO

“Given their boldness acting as the Breen, we might be wise to assume they’re going to assume a similar tact. Better to be proven wrong with the shields up than down.” Alexandra offered.

-CoS

“I agree. Lets also assume it wont be Breen this time but they could be imitating any other race or ship type so lets assume hostile unless proven otherwise. Red Alert. Intercept course NOW.” The Captain ordered and motioned his right hand forward with his index finger pointing forward to give the command to go to warp.

Parker CO

An intercept course wasn’t actually accurate since there were several ships, but the could pick a cluster and head towards them… as they get closer the true targets will make themselves clear. “Projected course on the screen.” Kolar responded. Speed in this case was a critical factor and Kolar deferred to the Captain to make that decision.

Kolar.

The Captain nodded his head as if to say he agreed with the course. He had hoped this mission had ended but now he saw and should have known that there was more to it. The Breen smokescreen may have been a fist phase or maybe what was happening now was a reaction to that not working.

“I need ideas. The Xindi pretend to be Breen to steal a Tholian ship. They go to a lot of risk to do it. Now they are possible sending ships to the Phi Virginis system? What do we know about this system? Or is it a course to another target?” He asked his team out loud.

Parker CO

Alexandra pulled up any relevant tactical information she could find, hoping to connect Phi Virginis somehow to the Tholians.

-CAG

Kolar pursed his lips, “the logic isn’t clear. Xindi can be deceptive and evasive, but don’t have a history of emulating other races. That would primarily lead to conflicts between the two races. The usurped race and the actual, the provoked race is usually the target. So what do the Tholan have that the Xindi want?”

He turned, “Computer put up a tactical map of all Breen, Tholian and Xindi holdings in this sector, assign strategic values to each holding based on known racial/planetary needs.” He looked at the monitor hopefully.

Kolar

James turned around from his console to watch the information the first officer called up, a more tactical thought.

CSO

Intel reports show that the Breen and the Tholians were not exactly in good terms of late. The Breen had developed tactics to counter the web spinners. The emergence of the large Tholian ship suggests the Tholians’ attempt to counter those tactics. From a political standpoint, a conflict between the Breen and the Tholians would likely affect Cardassia. This would then create tension in the common borders with the Federation. Considering the Xindis, who had been silent for so many years, their infiltration into Federation space would not be expected.

GM

OOC: I think this is where the INTEL Officer steps in and gives out that insightful data. Tyra?

Sidney

<after input>
IC:

“The Xindi don’t seem to have an accessible high value target in this sector unless all hell breaks loose.” He looked at the Captain, “They’d have to rock the boat really hard to knock something over.”
The Olinski reached Deep Space 4 some time later. However, there was no further information that the sensors were able to provide.

=/\=Captain Parker, welcome to Deep Space 4,=/\= came the greeting from the commander of DS4. =/\=We have orders to provide any logistics you may need.=/\=

GM

=^=Commander good to hear from you? Also we need any data you might have and more on the Phi Virginis system=^=

Parker CO

OOC: Apologies for the absence. I have been swamped with work.

IC:

=/\=There seems to be something going on there. Whenever reconnaissance vessels try to get near to the system, the ships that move between the Expanse and the Neural system seem to avoid that system. Long range sensors show that ships do pass by there but we aren’t able to get more intel. We have tried to place equipment on the four planets of the system, but we have gotten nothing yet.=/\=

GM

Kolar looked at the Captain… “Well we aren’t a reconnaissance vessel.” He didn’t offer a course of action that wasn’t his job yet, he hadn’t be asked to offer an opinion by word, gesture, or glance.

Kolar

Alexandra stood by. She didn’t trust going into a situation like this without any information. Especially given how hostile the day had already been. But she would be ready in case the Captain thought otherwise.

-CoS

=/\=Captain,=/\= DS4’s commander continued, =/\=I have been asked to inform you that you are expected to attend a briefing on board DS4 at 0800 hrs tomorrow.=/\=

GM

The Captain shrugged. “I guess that gave us our course of action.” He said to his staff and XO.

=^=Affirmative DS4. We are en route.=^=

“XO make course to arrive on time.” The Captain said. He liked to use the old Navy manner of relaying the order to his XO who then relayed the order to the helm with the specifics.

Parker CO

Kolar looked at the main monitor. He didn’t need the auto-calculator to figure out the speed. “Well make it. I could put on some extra speed, if you wanted to scope the area out a little.” It probably wasn’t necessary a Deep Space starbase was more than capable of handling itself.

There were two other ships at DS4. These were not Starfleet ships but freighters. The Olinski was directed to land at the platform beta of the station.

GM

Kolar

Once the ship was in its place and the docking procedure complete, DS4 comms said, =/\=Welcome to Deep Space Four. You can disembark at any time.=/\=

GM

Kolar nodded subconsciously in response. =^=Thank you Deep Space Four.=^= He turned to the Captain. He would order the away team.

Kolar

At the different departments, DS4 sent notifications regarding what the Olinksi needed to be resupplied.

GM

“Toro, Kolar and Drake and Grey. Your with me. Lets go and see what we can learn on the station.” He ordered as he rose from the chair and went toward the turbolift.

As he walked toward the transporter room he spoke with Kolar.

“Aye,” He nodded. He did a quick point to the duty officer. “You have the conn.”

“I’m just not seeing the end game with the Xindi.” He commented.

Kolar shook his head, “I don’t know either. You can’t always tell with the Xindi, six races, temporal intrigue and three other empires in close proximity. It would take a Romulan to figure it out. I’m logical but not Machiavellian.” Kolar could figure things out but the political machinations of multiple races is beyond him.

They then made it to the transporter room and he walked straight to the Pad. He waited for everyone to step on as well.

“Chief beam us over.” He said to the Transporter Chief.

Parker CO

Kolar

As they materialized the Captain stepped off the Pad first and looked for the commanding officer or whomever was there to greet them all.

Parker CO

“Low keyed response.” Kolar said as he looked about. “I would have thought the arrival of the Fleet Flagship, and frankly two men as handsome as us would garner more attention.”

Kolar
