Last night had been bitter sweet. Her old quarters were the same and were merely, once more, a blank canvas to remake into something personal. At least she knew what she wanted where, this time. The auburn haired CAG had spent the better part of two days on a shuttle while heading to meet The Olinski and had been grateful for a shower and familiar surroundings.

Granted, things were different this time. For one thing, Ric was gone. He had left before she had, before. And even after a brief weekend together, she had realized they were finished. It had been awkward as if neither knew what they were doing. Even the goodbye kiss a few nights ago had been brief and not as warm as she had hoped it would be. So she had left him with a smile, wished him well, and promised herself she would move on and let him do the same.

And now… here she was… back on the Olinski as CAG once more.

Today was ‘check in’ day. Medical, Psych, Security and, eventually, the XO if she cleared everything else.

Coming around the corner, she sidestepped someone leaving Medical. She didn’t recognize them but replied to the greeting and walked into the bay. A small smile lit her face as she looked for the Chief Medical officer, wondering if much of the staff had changed in her absence.

A Bolian nurse looked up and said “Hello Commander. What can we do for you today?” before there was a chirp on her desk and an unfamiliar voice said “Lieutenant H’ol, please have the Lieutenant Commander come to my office. She has an appointment.” The nurse smiled at Primage and said “Just around the corner to the left, Commander. Dr. Abel will see you.”

The door slid open at the approach of the CAG. Inside the office was well organized and was decorated like an office for a writer rather than a doctor. It was warm and inviting. Around the room were bits and things that gave a slight look into the office’s current resident. There was a broken tricorder in a small display, carbon-scoring across it’s surface. A small doll, obviously well-loved and old, sitting on a shelf up high. A holo of two people smiling and waving. A jar of dirt. A knife with a broken blade. A small pile of shiny rocks. A petri dish with some kind of sample that was encased in a cube of transparent aluminum. These and other things were set in places of esteem… including a singular medal that stood out. It wasn’t a Star Fleet award, either… it was the Federation Peace Medal. A small plaque on the front read ‘Awarded this day to Dr. Siegfried Abel for his contributions to peace and his efforts to decrease suffering throughout the Galaxy.’

The occupant of the room was seated behind his desk. He appeared human, and was quite striking in appearance. Dark red hair framed a startlingly handsome face, and bright green eyes that seemed to be both jovial and serious simultaneously looked at Primage. The figure stood up and smiled, extending a hand. “Lieutenant Commander Primage. A pleasure. Please, come in. I am Dr. Abel, the new Chief Medical Officer. Please have a seat, and I will get you checked in and ready for duty, alright?”

Abel, CMO
