SNIP

Xandra had been grateful the ships had been subdued.

Walking around her new office, she kept glancing at the monitors on the walls. They showed rotating views of the hangar cameras, the fighter cameras, and even a snapshot, now and then, of the bridge.

Suddenly a voice came over there comm. =^=Blue five to CAG. We’ve got power signatures lighting up on the ships. Looks like impulse is being engaged. Do we let them go, Sir?=^=

Xandra frowned and shook her head before tapping the console to reply. =^=Keep watch, Blue five. Blue Squadron, round up on the ships. Do not fire unless fired upon, but try and keep close enough to keep them corralled=^=

She then tapped another button and reached out to the bridge. =^= CAG to bridge… We’re showing power on the ships. Looks like impulse engines being fired up. What are our orders?=^= She wasn’t aware the CO and XO weren’t on the bridge.

=^=CAG this is the Bridge. Open fire on those ship.=^=

She may or may not recognize the voice of the Ops Ensign Corbin Dallas but the order came across clear and with no doubt as to the authority to give it.

Dallas

The order to fire was pretty clear. Relaying the message to the Squadron, it wasn’t a heartbeat later that Xandra would hear the weapons’ fire on her console speaker. She waited and paced as the squadrons moved to intercept and bring the ships to heel.

A couple fighters had seen the incoming torpedo and peeled away from the ship that wasn’t pointing to the Oli. A moment later, the two would fire on the torpedo. If timed right, it would explode just on the outside of the Olinski’s shields.

The torpedos may or may not reach the romulan style torpedo as it was slow moving but not that slow. Its reason for a slower speed was that it was building a reaction inside that would either culminate with impact or reach its max range and explode no matter what. However since the fighters had not engaged the ship opening its aft torpedo bays it was only seconds away from firing those at the Olinski. With that many double yield torpedos and if they all hit the Olinski would be crippled.

Xandra cursed herself for the feint that cost her seeing the impending doom. Her hand slammed the console as she told into the comms.

=^=All available fighters focus on the turning ship! Her weapons will cut us down! FIRE AT WILL AND STOP THEM!=^=

Xandra
CAG

=^=Bolster those port shields, Bridge! We’re doing best we can but can’t cover it all.=^= Xandra’s frustrated voice felt an edge of fear, but unless they knew her well, it just sounded strained.

When she finished hollering at the bridge, she watched the events unfold and held her breath to brace herself, while at the same time praying they weren’t gonna be hit.

bump

The large Olinski stopped its run and turned hard and suddenly came around to put itself between the ship with the aft torpedo doors opening and the fighters. However this caused the chasing torpedo with the double yield to quickly find home and slam into the Olinski. The impact would disable inertial dampners and throw people around the CIC. For the fighter they would see the large ship take the impact and and shudder but remain on course to intercede between them and the two ships.

Meanwhile the turning ship took the volley of impacts from the fighters and it was clear shields were now down as impacts registered directly to the hull and explosions began throughout the ship. Its Bay door was open to fire but nothing as of yet.

GMish

Grateful that the maneuver at least kept the Olinski from being blown to bits, Xandra glanced at the monitor beside her main screen and saw the damages light up. “Twenty percent beats zero… Or dead…” She murmured to herself, seeing the shield levels. If they hadn’t turned and bolstered the shields, she feared they wouldn’t be here now.

That moment gone, she barked at the fighters. =^=Someone clog that open bay! Make sure nothing comes out!=^= she knew her team would manage to damage the bay opening without blowing that whole section of ship up. But her patience to keep it whole was quickly dwindling.

=^=CAG to bridge. Need to know if you want this ship crippled or destroyed? The hounds won’t keep it at bay for long. They want a bit more than a pound of flesh for that last hit.=^= Xandra’s laughs interrupted the comm a second before continuing. =^=I want them dead, Sir. If you want them alive, I need to know now.=^=

The laugh was gone and the message was clear. The fighters wanted to destroy the ship utterly. But they’d wait for permission. No matter what, they obeyed orders.

Xandra
CAG

=^=Big O to the CAG, I want the ship combat ineffective, no more… acknowledge.=^= Kolar was a well known pacifist, which was the exact opposite of what would be expected of the first officer of the flagship of the $th Fleet.

Even as the fighters hammered the ship the far right bay fired its torpedo. It would plow through the fighters in 5 seconds on its way to the Olisnki which had by now moved slight past the ship and the fighters uncovering them slightly. The fighters had by this point severally damaged the ship. This was its last hurrah.

GMish

Xandra didn’t have time to answer the XO as the ‘hail Mary’ sailed out of the enemy ship. Slamming her hand on the comms, every fighter and gunner would hear her growl. =^= STOP THAT TORPEDO!!=^= She knew how the fighters would react. Several ships had turned to start firing at the spear that had been hurtled at the ship. Most were missing.

Despite the sudden desire to turn her head and close her eyes, she kept them glued to the viewscreen as the two ships closest to the Olinksi turned to place themselves in front of the oncoming missile. Stacked close enough together to form a small wall, the torpedo would, with luck, detonate as it slammed into them. She would lose two pilots, two fighters… two friends… But the Oli would be safe.

Biting her lip hard enough to draw blood, the same happening to the hands gripping the edge of the counter, she watched and waited as the clammor on the comms became almost like white noise. Her vision narrowed down to the distance closing between their kamikazi saviors and the death blow that was about to rain on the ship she stood upon. If she could have, a whispered prayer would have exited her lips.

((Letting GM decide if it works or not))

Meanwhile the two ships shut down as the command codes worked but the torpedo was on its way before the code had been sent. Five seconds to impact with the fighters.

OOC: Going to give the Bridge a chance to respond to the impending action.
