SNIP

A couple fighters had seen the incoming torpedo and peeled away from the ship that wasn’t pointing to the Oli. A moment later, the two would fire on the torpedo. If timed right, it would explode just on the outside of the Olinski’s shields.

Xandra
CAG

Kolar would only maneuver away for so long. Fighters could have a huge impact on a battle field but they had low survivability and endurance. He wouldn’t leave them alone for too long. No Battlestar Galactica running back to the colonies for him. He smiled slightly, it was a little thought only for himself, there wouldn’t be anyone around who saw the 1978 human show.

Kolar

With the Olinski retreating and the fighters not yet engaging the weakened but still dangerous Romulan ships the one opening its aft torpedo bays was only seconds away from firing. If, and it was a good assumption yes, they had double yield torpedos and they fired and hit the Olinski all three hits would cripple the ship.

Gmish

((Which direction is the Olinski facing from the ship about to fire?))

They were turning hard to starboard so its port is still the most vulnerable. Im not sure what the maneuver that Luke is using as the XO does so lets go with Port for now. The one shift with aft torpedo bays open is basically pointing its tail toward the Olinski and the other one is still turning starboard to port to face the Olinski. Hope this helps.

Sidney

“Launch of aft torpedos imminent by the stalled ship. The other is turning to us and opening bays. I’m reading some high radiation from that ship. I think those torpedos are really unstable they have in their tubes.” Dallas updated Kolar from his now Ops board.

Dallas

The comm roared again with the CAG’s voice. =^=Bolster those port shields, Bridge! We’re doing best we can but can’t cover it all.=^= Xandra’s frustrated voice felt an edge of fear, but unless they knew her well, it just sounded strained.

Xandra
CAG

“Bring the ship around to give the fighters some cover. Increase shield strength,” Kolar barked out orders crisply and calmly. He wasn’t sure what the radiation signature was on the torpedos but radiation wasn’t ever a good thing for machines or crew.

Kolar

bump

=/\= CMO to Bridge. Access code for attacking vessel is 78alpharomeo65. Repeat. 78alpharomeo65. =/\=

However before Dallas could relay the info to Kolar the following happened.

The helm followed the order as the Olinski moved quickly in between the attacking ship and the fighters. However this move ensured the torpedo found home. It slammed into the port side of the Olinski and the powerful torpedo hit the Olnski so hard that the impact would overcome the inertial dampners and toss the Bridge crew around. Por shields would buckle and then re-establish at 20%. Power would flicker across the ship and re-establish. Damage reports would begin to flood in.

GMish

“The Prophets,” Kolar kind of cursed. “Damage report.”

“Sir possible Command codes for one of those ships.78alpharomeo65. Repeat. 78alpharomeo65. =/\= Dallas barked out to Kolar not even knowing where he was. Blood trickled down his forehead and he wiped at it and looked surprised to see the red wet liquid.

Dallas OPS

“Comm or Science, transmit that prefix code and link our system to theirs, power down their shields and weapons. If you still have control eject their warp core too.” They may regain control of their systems, but with no warp drive they were no match for the Olinski.

=^=CAG to bridge. Need to know if you want this ship crippled or destroyed? The hounds won’t keep it at bay for long. They want a bit more than a pound of flesh for that last hit.=^= Xandra’s laughs interrupted the comm a second before continuing. =^=I want them dead, Sir. If you want them alive, I need to know now.=^=

The laugh was gone and the message was clear. The fighters wanted to destroy the ship, utterly. But they’d wait for permission. No matter what, they obeyed orders.

Xandra
CAG

=^=Big O to the CAG, I want the ship combat ineffective, no more… acknowledge.=^= Kolar was a well known pacifist, which was the exact opposite of what would be expected of the first officer of the flagship of the $th Fleet.

Kolar X

Coms inputed the codes and began to link. However before that could happen the ship moving away fired on the torpoedos.

=Torpedo away.= Dallas reported. His voice rising. “Tracking the Olinski but at that heading its going to plow through the the fighters we well.

The Torpedo readings were very erratic. It seems the fighters targeting the bay damaged it. IF someone was on the Science station they will see it was unstable but on target.

Dallas/GMish

Steve was jostled after the torpedo hit. Pressing his com badge as he looked over the damage reports. =/\= Engineering to Kolar. Commander, I received the damage reports and have sent out crews to fix them. I prioritized them and are working to give the Olinski more than 20% shield durability. I will let you know when I have transferred enough power. Johnson out. =/\=

Steve knew that there were areas that no one was around and he checked the computer to make sure no one was on those decks or rooms. Even if there were the claxon would go off and tell them to get out of there. Siphoning the power from all of the holodecks, and:
Deck 2
Observation Lounge on Deck 5
Recreational Lounge on Deck 8
All Mess Halls
Holosuites 1-10 on Deck 18
Cargo Bays 5 and 6 on Deck 23
Cargo Bays 7 and 8 on Deck 26
Transporter Rooms 7 and 8 on Deck 29
Transporter Rooms 9 and 10 on Deck 30

After the power transfer, he waited to see if there was in increase in power to the shields.

Lt. Steve Johnson, CE

“Sir!” Dallas almost screamed. “The fighters are forming a wall in front of the torpedo. They will be....killed.”

Dallas was not sure he was seeing what he was saying. He looked at Kolar to do something.

“Less than 5 seconds to it reaches them. Its readings are all over the place. It will detonate once it reaches them.” He added trying to compose himself.

Dallas OPs

Meanwhile the two ships shut down as the command codes worked but the torpedo was on its way before the code had been sent.

GMish

Two fighters had planted themselves squarely between the Olinski and the oncoming torpedoes and were headed towards it. With luck, the missile would detonate on impact and never hit the ship.

Xandra
CAG

Kolar shook his head. This wasn’t a kamikaze fighter squadron… =/=Negative fighters, negative. Kolar to squadrons, disengage. I repeat disengage. =/

=/ Kolar to Johnson we need that 20% boost to the shields now.=/=. Tapping his comm badge he sent out a ship wide message.

=/=Prepare for impact=/= The Olinski wasn’t invincible but it was stronger than the fighters. With the power boost to the shields they would get a black eye but not be wiped off the face of the universe like the fighters would if they were impacted.

Kolar

Steve pressed his com badge; =/\= I diverted power from multiple places and put it in the shields Commander! That is all I can give you!=/\= He hoped that it was enough as he pressed the transfer button for the shields. “I hope this is enough!”

Lieutenant Steve Johnson, CE

OOC: Hint As stated the torpedo is very unstable. A fighter guns or micro torpedos might not detonate it but something stronger might. Might cause a heck of a shock but....

Sidney

Corbin looked on like a helpless bystander who could see the impending doom but do nothing to stop it.

Dallas Ops

Xandra growled. =^=Fighters break!=^= She said even as they were doing just that. The command in the Captain’s voice had trumped the CAG’s this time.

Suddenly Xandra had an idea. Hopefully the Captain would forgive her. Her voice rang over the comms. =^=Fire torpedoes, Sir! We’ll bounce, but we’ll live!=^=

She hoped the orders would be followed quick enough. It was perhaps overkill. And the concussion would rock them, she was sure. But better a concussion wave than an impact.

Xandra
CAG
((To be fair, Xandra would know what to call for, besides minis or phasers, so if I called wrong, GM/CO have permission to fix here and CAG thread))
Even if the torpedo was unstable one micro torpedo or even two would probably not detonate it but a barrage? As the torpedo was away its own guidance system registered the counter attack and went into counter measures as well trying to avoid them. However with the proximity to their targets it was useless and the fighters torpedos found home.

The detonation was huge. Like a mini star exploding and emanating outward. The fighters were the first to get washed over and turned on their sides. Like a giant wave it took them out and and away from the center of the blast. A pure energy wave not unlike a shockwave in atmospheric conditions. However this one was the heat of a mini nuclear explosion. Then the wave found the Olinski. Being not as close and much bigger and with shields the blast did not do as much damage but it did turn the big ship on its side as if capsizing on the sea and carried it out for several kilometers.

The Olinski’s shields held but were badly damaged and again the persons on board were thrown to and fro. However the large carrier would only sustained systems damages and shield capacitor damage.

OOC: CAG Rp who lived, died etc etc NO need to kill anyone unless you feel it merits the scenario.
Bridge- RP a good roll around and as you like on injuries etc

GMish

This time Corbin had braced himself and yet he still was tossed to the floor. However most on the Bridge had done the same and save for a few had not been tossed around as badly as before. Corbin checked the ships status board. A lot of orange and red with intermittent green was being displayed.

“Multiple systems out sir. Main power offline. Running on back up. Weapons offline. life support systems good. We have damage reports across the ship but it appears no major fires or breaches.” He called out to Kolar.

((Post reactions above… Below happens soon as the tossing stopped))

A voice, choked and in pain called over the comms, =^=CAG to Bridge… Everyone all right?=^= Xandra’s voice was off as if she were wincing and trying to hide it.

Xandra
CAG

=^=Ops to CIC. Banged up but good. Most systems offline to include weapons at the moment.=^=

Dallas Ops

Kolar exhaled deeply. He only thought about the fighter pilots and didn’t look at the big picture. “I screwed that up Captain.” He said loud enough for the whole bridge to hear.

“The CAG saved all of our bacons.” He shook his head ruefully. That could have cost them 1700 lives and the lives of the handful of pilots off ship would have been only spared as long as their life support would have kept them breathing.

Kolar

A few minutes later Dallas heard the turbolift door open and the Captain, a little worse for wear but no worse than anyone else, step off. Dallas had no idea how he was going to react to him being on the Bridge nor the situation.

Dallas Ops

“Report,” Balfor called out straightening himself in the command seat.

Steve picked himself up off the ground and his head was bleeding over his eye. So much so that he had to tear his uniform sleeve off to wrap it around so he could see. Checking all of the systems he noticed that weapons were offline and he began to triage the systems. Pressing his badge he spoke to his people. =/\= Engineering Group Alpha, NE Lt. Williams, go fix the Weapons system. First priority. Take what you need. Engineering Group Bravo. NE Lt. Mc Connley. Grab the remaining engineers and fan out to the levels to fix what needs to be done. Starting with the Bridge. With all of you working multiple levels, we should have this ship band-aid ready until we reach a port or get to a calmer area to fix her right. Move out. =/\=

Pressing the badge again. =/\= Engineering to Bridge. We have systems out all over the ship. I have a team working on the weapons system now and the rest have fanned out throughout the ship. One such team will be on the Bridge real soon to fix things there. I reckon with no problems, we should be good to go in two hours, but weapons should only take 45 minutes at the most. I do need a medic for a laceration on my head and a couple others in here need some mild medical attention. =/\=
