Abbie didn’t quite understand the logic of boarding physicals, she’d heard about them from her brother, although he wasn’t an officer she was surprised to find her first deployment so so out of the acdamey would require one, she had been hoping to avoid it but with the CoS’s reminder ringing in her ear and a free afternoon. She figured she’d stick her head in sick bay hope everyone was too busy and call it a rain check.

She entred and hoped everyone was busy

Sickbay wasn’t full, and when the doors slid open a nurse at a desk looked up and said “Hello. How may we be of help today?” with a friendly smile.

Sickbay

Well so much for hoping people would be too busy to deal with her. She wasn’t going to get out of this necessary evil.

Abbie almost jumped when the nurse spoke. She was not a fan of sickbays, it wasn’t personal just them and unicorns creepy. “We.. hi..I was told to report down here. I just transferred” she answered the nurse.

The nurse smiled and said “Well… okay. Boarding physical it is. And you are in luck. The CMO is on duty right now, so he will be able to see you himself.” They looked down the screen in front of them and said “Biobed Six. Go have a seat and he will be with you in just a minute, okay?”

Sickbay

“Oh, fab, guess it’s my lucky day.” Abbie wasn’t especially looking forward to this, she’d come up with a million excuses in her head but Star Fleet had an annoying way of checking on you when you didn’t do things. That didn’t stop her treating anything that made her do things outside of her comfort zone with utter disdain.

Abbie went and sat on bio bed 6, she sat on the end swinging her legs like an petulent four year old.

It wasn’t but a few minutes later that a man with dark red hair and bright green eyes walked towards her. He was dressed in the blue Medical department uniform with a white coat over it. He smiled and held out his hand. “Ensign, welcome. I’m the Chief Medical Officer Dr. Siegfried Abel. Pleasure to meet you.”

Abel, CMO

“Errrrr...... Pleasure to meet you Sir.” Abbie said to thr CMO, he was certainly not what she was expecting, growing up on starships the only time she ever saw CMO’s they were grizzled angry individuals who yelled about kids doing stupid things.

“As you can see I’m alive and have all my limbs, so am I good to go?” She asked

-Ensign Wainwright

Abel laughed and said “Well, there’s a bit more to it than that…” and he looked at the display from the biobed scanners. “But so far I don’t see anything of concern.” He looked back at her and said “So tell me, Ensign… have you had any recent changes to your health we need to know about? Any undocumented illness or injury? And how have you been feeling overall?”

Abel, CMO

Abbie couldn’t help but smile “Well it was worth a go.” she mused.

People always asked Abbie about her health true she always looked like she could use a good meal, and was incredibly pale, something her mother blamed on being born abord a ship, her mother wasn’t particularly fond of this little thing called science. But dispite that Abbie was actually fit, she ran, she free climbed, and she played as many contact sports as she could. “I can say I’ve had any real changes to my health, I’ve just graduated so my stress levels have decreased dramatically.” that and she was no longer drinking at an Acadmey level.
