Steve was nervous and his heart racing a mile a minute. HE already checked himself in the mirror like 50 times making sure that her looked alright and his sandy brown hair was not out of place. Coming to the doors of the Officers Mess he took a deep breath and went through the doors. HE thought about getting her flowers but thought twice about and left them in his room. This may be a date, but it is not that kind of date. They were not going out but he did ask her to dinner. Not knowing how she took it as in colleagues going out for dinner or friends or a couple. He stopped in the middle of an isle to shake his head. Dang it Steve. Get ahold of yourself. It’s not like you’ve never been on a date before, but it has been a long time. He looked around to see if she was there and couldn’t see her. But he might have missed her since she wouldn’t have her uniform on and her hair done. Now he was stressing again. Looking around he decided to just sit at the bar so he could see her come in or she could see him. Steve is wearing a khaki dress pant with black polished low quarters and a light blue polo to match his light blue eyes.Stepping up to the bar Steve asked the bartender for a beer and while he was taking a sip his brain went into overdrive again. What if she doesn’t drink Steve? What if she is against alcohol? What if she is a recovering alcoholic? He closed his eyes and put his head down trying to calm himself.
