Grateful that the maneuver at least kept the Olinski from being blown to bits, Xandra glanced at the monitor beside her main screen and saw the damages light up. “Twenty percent beats zero… Or dead…” She murmured to herself, seeing the shield levels. If they hadn’t turned and bolstered the shields, she feared they wouldn’t be here now.

That moment gone, she barked at the fighters. =^=Someone clog that open bay! Make sure nothing comes out!=^= she knew her team would manage to damage the bay opening without blowing that whole section of ship up. But her patience to keep it whole was quickly dwindling.

=^=CAG to bridge. Need to know if you want this ship crippled or destroyed? The hounds won’t keep it at bay for long. They want a bit more than a pound of flesh for that last hit.=^= Xandra’s laughs interrupted the comm a second before continuing. =^=I want them dead, Sir. If you want them alive, I need to know now.=^=

The laugh was gone and the message was clear. The fighters wanted to destroy the ship utterly. But they’d wait for permission. No matter what, they obeyed orders.

=^=Big O to the CAG, I want the ship combat ineffective, no more… acknowledge.=^= Kolar was a well known pacifist, which was the exact opposite of what would be expected of the first officer of the flagship of the $th Fleet.

Even as the fighters hammered the ship the far right bay fired its torpedo. It would plow through the fighters in 5 seconds on its way to the Olisnki which had by now moved slight past the ship and the fighters uncovering them slightly. The fighters had by this point severally damaged the ship. This was its last hurrah.

Xandra didn’t have time to answer the XO as the ‘hail Mary’ sailed out of the enemy ship. Slamming her hand on the comms, every fighter and gunner would hear her growl. =^= STOP THAT TORPEDO!!=^= She knew how the fighters would react. Several ships had turned to start firing at the spear that had been hurtled at the ship. Most were missing.

Despite the sudden desire to turn her head and close her eyes, she kept them glued to the viewscreen as the two ships closest to the Olinksi turned to place themselves in front of the oncoming missile. Stacked close enough together to form a small wall, the torpedo would, with luck, detonate as it slammed into them. She would lose two pilots, two fighters… two friends… But the Oli would be safe.

Biting her lip hard enough to draw blood, the same happening to the hands gripping the edge of the counter, she watched and waited as the clammor on the comms became almost like white noise. Her vision narrowed down to the distance closing between their kamikazi saviors and the death blow that was about to rain on the ship she stood upon. If she could have, a whispered prayer would have exited her lips.

Meanwhile the two ships shut down as the command codes worked but the torpedo was on its way before the code had been sent. Five seconds to impact with the fighters.

OOC: Going to give the Bridge a chance to respond to the impending action.

The CO’s voice came over the comms. =/=Negative fighters, negative. Kolar to squadrons, disengage. I repeat disengage. =/= Kolar’s voice was clear.

Xandra growled. =^=Fighters break!=^= She said even as they were doing just that. The command in the Captain’s voice had trumped the CAG’s this time.
Suddenly Xandra had an idea. Hopefully the Captain would forgive her. her voice rang over the comms. =^=Fire torpedoes, Sir! We’ll bounce, but we’ll live!=^=

She hoped the orders would be followed quick enough. It was perhaps overkill. And the concussion would rock them, she was sure. But better a concussion wave than an impact.

((To be fair, Xandra would know what to call for, besides minis or phasers, so if I called wrong, GM/CO have permission to fix here and Bridge))

OOC: Well if I was being honest I was hoping for torpedos (good choice) and the Olinski firing a phaser to combine for a detonation but lets see what happens.
IC:

Even if the torpedo was unstable one micro torpedo or even two would probably not detonate it but a barrage? As the torpedo was away its own guidance system registered the counter attack and went into counter measures as well trying to avoid them. However with the proximity to their targets it was useless and the fighters torpedos found home.

The detonation was huge. Like a mini star exploding and emanating outward. The fighters were the first to get washed over and turned on their sides. Like a giant wave it took them out and and away from the center of the blast. A pure energy wave not unlike a shockwave in atmospheric conditions. However this one was the heat of a mini nuclear explosion. Then the wave found the Olinski. Being not as close and much bigger and with shields the blast did not do as much damage but it did turn the big ship on its side as if capsizing on the sea and carried it out for several kilometers.

The Olinski’s shields held but were badly damaged and again the persons on board were thrown to and fro. However the large carrier would only sustained systems damages and shield capacitor damage.

Thankfully the trajectory of the blast forced the fighters between the opposing ships. It took some time to gain bearings and stability, but no one was killed.

On the Olinski things didn’t go so well. The sudden toss loosed several pieces of gear and one tie down failed causing one of the shuttles to spin on the remaining chain and slam into a bulkhead. Xandra and those in CAG were more fortunate as they’d hear Xandra’s warning and braced themselves.

Xandra, herself, having been standing, slammed into the console hard enough to nearly get the wind knocked out of her. When the tossing stopped, she looked down to the hangar floor. People, equipment and tools were everywhere. While no one was killed, there were several injuries. It would have been worse, but most times the hangar worked with safeties in place in case decompression or firefighters cost the location pressure, inertial dampeners or worse. But it was still a heck of a mess with plenty of cut, bruises and as couple broken bones.

Xandra figured a couple of her own ribs were bruised, but choked out a comm for the bridge. =^=CAG to Bridge… Everyone ok?=^=

While awaiting an answer she hollered to the hanger floor for everyone to secure aircraft and help the wounded. ATAF would happen in one hour once all injured personnel were clear if the deck.

Xandra

=^=Ops to CIC. Banged up but good. Most systems offline to include weapons at the moment.=^=

Dallas Ops

It took about five minutes for Xandra to get a bead on what had happened in the hangar. A moment later, her voice came over the comm. =^=CAG to Bridge, we lost three fighters outside and the shuttle inside is gonna take a bit of love to recover from being rocked. We have landing capabilities but we’ll need about an hour to be ready to launch again. Otherwise, no major casualties mechanical or personal.=^=

The hangar was a hot mess from being tossed like a dropped tool box. But thankfully, her folks still maintained protocols and most ships in work in the hangars had been secured to the deck. The shuttle in question had been in the process of being moved and it had tipped over, tow tractor and all. No one had been hurt, thank the gods, but it was still a hot mess. Wiping the blood off her hand onto her slacks where she had cut it on a piece of the console when gripping it to keep from flying into the window before her, she glanced around. “Everyone bleeding, go get it taken case of. Triage in the hangar by slot ten. Anyone needing absolute essential help can get taken to medical. But let’s see how much we can cover ourselves.” She set to seeing to the clean up and help of those around her.

=^=Captain to CAG. Clear. Standby on further orders=^=

Parker CO

As the rest of the ship looked to itself, Xandra saw to the hanger and her crew there. Superficial injuries were handled in the hangar. Three people had to go to medical for severe injuries. One Lieutenant had a broken wrist, another had bruised ribs that she wasn’t sure weren’t fractured. And the one who helped take them had a gash on her arm that needed more than the simple tools the hanger had.

Her own hand was now wrapped in a piece of clean gauze, the epidermal regenerator declined because it wasn’t necessary. She’d have a scar, but it wasn’t deep enough to hurt muscle and had stopped bleeding, for the most part.

She kept the comm open to the bridge in hopes someone would tell her more about how things were going. This was one time she wished she was Chief Engineer. He would know what was happening.
