\=Understood. I’ll relay all this information back to the Olinski, we’ll see what we can do to get you up and moving.=/\= Ael reset comms to speak to Xandra. =/\=Sehlat, you lifting out with me? Something isn’t right here. They say there’s sand trapped in the exhaust ports. That happens. Vent the exhaust ports. Unless the buildup is so huge it’s unmovable, it should be shakeable.=/\=

-Lt Ael Khev, Apex (Red Squad Leader)

Xandra had been listening and her own frown colored get comms back to Apex. =^= I agree. I don’t like it. Buy wet can’t leave them alone. I’m one ridge over and just out of sight. I don’t think they saw me. I’m gonna stay close. =^= Then she had an idea, =^=Apex, follow my lead. When I say, go ahead and ascend. Make sure they see you. I’ll play bug out, but I’m staying. Relay back to Ric what’s up. I’ll keep comms open so he hears it all. =^=

Switching channels, she hauled the Sierra. =^= Copy Sierra, we’ll let Olinski know you need a min. Apex, come on back up and rendezvous with me above this location. We’ll head back and prep for their return. Sierra, let us know if you need additional help. Sehlat out. =^=

Back on the private channel, she hailed Apex. =^= Dad’s gonna be mad, but tell him I pulled rank. It’ll save you from a tanned hide. =^= she laughed a bit. Ric hated when she said ‘yes dad’s when he barked orders in the sims. But hopefully he’d understand the rise and not take it out on the other pilot too badly.

Xander
Pilot

She technically didn’t have rank to pull anymore. But it was a good plan. =Copy Sehlat, awaiting signal.=/\=

-Lt Ael Khev, Apex (Red Squad Leader

On the private channel, she confirmed the go. =^=Go ahead and heads back up. So long as they see you, it’s all good.=^=

Xandra bit her lip. Hopefully the ground would see Apex depart and think they were alone. She kept her comms open, hoping to catch ground chatter.

Xandra
Pilot/Sehlat
((Her suggestion to head back to the ship was on open comm.... that was the signal to head up so the ground thought they would be alone. She begins the next ridge to keep an eye on them… up to you if he actually goes back or just relays privately to Ric what’s happening and swings around and joins her)))

Ael turned the nose of his fighter upward, hit the throttle, and sped toward the atmosphere. Once he was clear, he had a decision to make. Land, or call it in? Better to start one way than the other.

=/\Apex to CIC, do you copy?=/\=

-Lt Ael Khev, Apex (Red Squad Leader)

=^=Ricochet here, Apex. Go ahead.=^=

Ricochet (CAG)

=/\=Ric, something isn’t quite right here. Situation reads; they couldn’t take off because they set down mid-sandstorm. They’re behaving as though they are suspicious of every other craft in the area. I ID’d myself as Starfleet and Olinski personnel more than once. If anything, it built mistrust.=/\=

-Lt Ael Khev, Apex (Red Squad Leader)

Xandra listened and wondered the same thing. At the best there was mistrust… at worst, subterfuge. Either way, she wasn’t happy about it and was glad that Apex wasn’t either.

Xandra
Pilot

=^=Roger that, Apex. Something isn’t kosher here. I want you and Sehlat to stay low and visually scan for anything that looks out of the ordinary for a desert planet–vehicle tracks, foot tracks leaving the Sierra. they may have landed not only for repairs, but to pick up or drop off some contraband. Report on anything suspicious, copy?=^=

Ric turned to Harn and added, “At least now we’re looking for something.”

Ricochet (CAG)

=^=Roger, Cag… Apex, I’m to the west of the landing. I think there is an outcropping just south east that may give you adequate cover. It gives us better coverage of what’s happening if we aren’t side by side.=^=

It wasn’t ideal, being split up. But the pros and cons were the same. Either way, something had to be done and monitoring was all they could do at the moment.

Xandra
Pilot

Ael had a similar thought. =/\=Agreed. But stay within sensor range.=/\= he dipped back down towards the planet. Here we go. As he came even with the ground, he started looking for any disturbances in the area that the presence of the Sierra alone couldn’t account for.

-Lt Ael Khev, Apex (Red Squad Leader)
