Toro made her way to the transporter room to get an idea of what was going on so she could give a better report to Jason =^=Toro to Bridge, who exactly am I looking for?=^= She asked as she hurried toward her destination.

CIO

=^=Bridge here,=^= Jason’s disembodied voice replied. =^=Toro, meet me in the shuttlebay and bring your phaser! I’ll be there as soon as I can!=^=

Jason Harn, aCO finally moving his @$$

OOC: Changing the thread title …

IC: Toro was slightly earlier than Harn. The aCO’s team was just 30 seconds behind her. They saw Mrs. Pitch carrying her child and a satchel bag entering the only Longevity runabout in the ship. This was on loan from Starbase when they had to transport new batch of marines to the ship. There was one NE at the panel who was getting ready for the runabout to depart.

GM

Toro stepped up to the panel and told the NE to stand down, she would take care of the departure. She hoped Harn hurried up. She would have to make up an excuse for the shuttle not being able to depart as promised.

CIO

The NE ignored her. His eyes looked terrified. He was not in control of himself … Fortunately, the bridge had locked out the controls.

The runabout lifted up from the floor and began to edge to the entrance. Seeing the forcefield not being adjusted, the vessel suddenly activated its shields …

GM

“Toro, see if you can override the runabout’s functions using its prefix code,” Jason ordered before he jogged over to a console and activated that comm system in order to contact the runabout. =^=This is Commander Harn of the starship Brian A. Olinski to runabout Autonomy. We will not permit you to kidnap our citizens, endanger personnel, or steal Starfleet property. We must insist that you land the runabout and open a dialogue so that we can resolve this peacefully. You cannot not escape, but you can still bargain.=^=

Jason hoped that whatever entity was controlling the woman inside runabout Autonomy was human enough for a dialog to be possible. If the infected woman was following a biological necessity it would be impossible to reason with her.

Jason Harn aCO

Toro stood at another console and began trying to access the shuttles main systems using its prefix and her clearance. She worked quickly and efficiently using her knowledge of the shuttles and the computer systems, hopefully to her advantage.

CIO

She managed to gain control of the shuttle and got it to land.

The shuttle door opened and the woman called Mrs. Pitch emerged with her son in her arms. She looked pleadingly at Jason and said, “Please help me, I did not know what was happening. As she moved forward, the baby’s arm came out from the bundle she was carrying and was moving about.

GM

“Yes ma’am, I…” Jason stopped speaking midsentence and frowned at Pitch and her infant before speaking again. “I understand ma’am but for your own safety I’m going to ask Lieutenant Turcio to run a scan for energy weapons. Just as a precaution you understand.”

NE Lt JG Sparks had just finished clearing his throat when he realized he was now the acting CAG. He had sent word to Apex and NE Charger to head for their ships. Unfortunately for Apex, he had been doing rounds to help see if any other crewmen were unconscious around the bay and the shuttle was where he would come upon as he turned to head back to his fighter to hook up on the Captain’s command.

Jason leaned over to Toro without taking his eyes off Mrs. Pitch. “Toro, a lot of people have been taken over, but so far only two people have tried to escape,” he murmured in her ear. “Now what do you suppose makes these two different? Back on the bridge Kolar discovered that all of the affected crewmembers shared an extremely faint energy signature that he traced back to two of our guests from the Sierra. Now what are the odds that woman and her infant are the ones manifesting the strange energy signature?”

Jason Harn, aCO, managing to pull off Kirk’s thoughtful murmur and Riker’s getting too close to his shipmates for comfort at the same time

Toro murmured back “10 to 1.” She said as she began scanning the duo that had just gotten off the shuttle, not only looking for energy weapons but the energy signature that Kolar had found on the Bridge. Toro kept an eye on the NE that had been trying to operate the control panel, she didn’t like being outnumbered, even if it was only by one person. She murmured back to Jason “I would suggest that we not allow her to touch us…just in case.” She said, her paranoia kicking in.

CIO

“Based on the pattern of contagion I’d say that it doesn’t matter if she touches us or not,” Jason replied softly. “Remember that the cases showed up all over the ship and that the victims had no contact with any of our guests. But only after our guests came aboard. But I have noticed another pattern. So far every victim has been one of the lowest ranking members of our crew. Not a single one has been an officer, who would be expected to talk, but rather a crewman, who would be expected to go about doing his or her job quietly and invisibly…”

Jason Harn, aCO, putting it together

The CIO was detecting the energy from the infant as well as from an object in Mrs. Pitch’s satchel bag.

GM

Ael headed for his fighter, disconcerted at everything that had so far transpired. He wasn’t sure even if the cockpit of his fighter was safe.
