Sinclair looked at the weapon and nodded in appreciation. “Do you think the Trials is something you would want to do? Or are you even able to? Again, my knowledge of Klingon customs is somewhat limited.” he said with a slight chuckle.

Her brow furrowed slightly as she replaced everything back in the box. His question caught her off guard. “No one’s ever asked.” She shrugged. “Guess I never thought about it.” The moment of the her peeking thru was swiftly gone as she straightened up and smiled at him with a slight shake of her head. “Doesn’t matter. Anyway, so this is a great place to spar to get it aggression as well as relax if that desk becomes too much of a ball and chain.” She laughed and changed the subject again.

Sinclair smirked at her and said “You do that as a trained psychological professional I am adept at detecting this thing we call ‘deflection’, right?” but he chuckled as he spoke and let the matter drop. “So if I want some privacy to take my daily frustrations out on imaginary foes while saving the wayward damsel, this is where I come, eh? Sounds like a plan. So do I leave a sock on the door to indicate it’s occupied?” he joked. “Always kept my dorm mate out when I was in Academy…”

She murmured and nodded at his ‘deflection’ comment. “I’ll have to remember that.” When he asked about a sock on the door, she shook her head and laughed. “Simply locking the door is sufficient. If locked from inside it takes a Command override to open from outside. And since most folks don’t come down here if they don’t have to, interruptions aren’t something you have to worry about either.” She shook her head and laughed at the idea of the sock on the door still being used after centuries.

Sinclair looked around and nodded. “Sounds good. I think I may have a new hidey-hole for when I need to Counselor myself.” he said and laughed. “So what’s next? Another hidden Saracen gem?”

Sinclair, CNS

She laughed and shook her head. “I can’t think of any other ‘gems’ unless you mean the observation deck where the windows are the biggest and give the best view of the darkness. But I had thought, perhaps lunch? I did promise you something to eat, I believe.” She smiled and closed and latched the cargo container once more and turned her back to it with a nod to the door. “After you, if you are ready.”

“Lunch sounds great. I am starving. And no, please, ladies first.” and he stepped to the side as the doors opened and gestured for her to go through.

She laughed at his comment as she exited the room first. “Ladies first. I think you are probably the only one who would dare say that to a Klingon.” She looked back and winked at him, “Even a half breed like myself.”

She was fairly quiet on the walk to the lift and back up. She nodded and greeted a couple crewmen who hailed them as they passed.

Sha led them back up to deck ten and into the nearly empty Ten Forward. It was middle of the shift so most had already eaten or wouldn’t be in for a bit. She led him to the replicators and ordered a tea and a simple meat sauced dish. “There is also a mess hall on this deck, but most eat there during the day. I thought this would be a bit more interesting.” She nodded to the vast bank of wide and tall windows that gave an amazing view. “I’ll let you pick what you are hungering for then where you want to sit.” She laughed. “Ladies decision.”

She wasn’t sure why, but she was enjoying herself more than she thought, despite the slight awkwardness a little bit ago.

Sinclair chuckled and said “Fair enough.” and then commenced to ordering. Two large double cheeseburgers, rare, with everything on them. A plate of fish and chips, side of malt vinegar. Bangers and mash. Pitcher of iced tea, unsweetened. Toffee pudding with clotted cream and mixed berries. As he stacked the various plates with an expertise born of repetition and familiarity, he looked at her and said “Ok. Let’s eat.” with a smile and a wink.
