Flynn left Sinclair’s office and Sinclair let out a deep breath. The young man was obviously heartbroken, and had a mean streak and a temper. This was not good combination for a successful career on a star ship; in fact, it was recipe for disaster if it wasn’t handled correctly. Thinking for a several minutes, he pulled up his appointment calendar and rearranged some appointments. Tapping his commbadge, he said =/\= Counselor to Captain Knight and Security Chief. I need to speak with you in my office as soon as possible, please. I have cleared my schedule for the next hour. =/\= He added the last part so that they would understand the pressing nature of his request, as it was not often a Counselor would change appointments and risk interfering with duty schedules and rotations.

Sitting in his chair on the Bridge, Dante looked at his XO and raised an eyebrow. “Why are Counselors always thinking everything is so important that They can’t come to my ready room?” He asked cheekily, but quietly, then came to his feet.

“You have the Bridge, Commander” he told the Exec, then turned to the turbo-lift and motioned with his hand to the Chief of Security. “Triton, with me please. Lets go and see what the good Counselor needs us for.”

Minutes later and the two were outside Sinclairs door. Without waiting for the chime, he opened the door and walked straight in. Sinclair had called him down for a meeting after all. “Counselor” he said as he came to a stop two paces inside the door.

Captain Knight, CO

Sinclair stood up as the door opened. His face, normally jovial and friendly, was furrowed into a look of deep concern. “Captain. Lieutenant. Thank you for coming so quickly. Please be seated.” he said, gesturing to the chairs in front of his desk, not in the seating area. “I do apologize for asking you both here rather than coming to you, Captain. But this discussion is best held somewhere… more private.” and he took a seat when the others sat.

Looking at the Security Chief, he said straight to the point “Ensign Flynn. Tell me your thoughts on him, please.”

As Sha settled into the chair, the look on Sinclair’s face made her pause a moment though she doubted the CO would notice. As the first question was directed at her, she raised a curious eyebrow. “I actually haven’t met him yet. He was due for hit DH check in later this afternoon. I had been finishing a report on the bridge to go see him when you summoned us. I imagine he’s probably on his way there now.” She leaned forward, elbows resting on her knees as she looked at him like she was trying to decide the reason behind the query.

Seeing this side of the man she had spent time with, gave Sha pause. Something was amiss. Sitting back up, she looked at the Captain then back to Sinclair. “Do I need to go do his interview right this minute? His record showed a troubled past and a couple questionable comments of things glanced over in past councelling sessions but nothing that would be a security risk or a danger.” She was trying to remain professional when all she wanted to do was go to him and ask what was troubling him so. At this moment, he probably had more brow ridges than she did. And as part Klingon, that was saying a lot.

Sinclair shook his head and said “No. Not until the three of us have had a chance to talk. Now, it is not normal protocol for a mental health professional to discuss a current case, but here I think I have to make an exception.” and he pulled up his assessment of Flynn and handed it to the Captain. “As Commanding Officer, I will allow you to read the full assessment. To yourself, of course.” and then he turned and looked at Sha.

“Mr. Flynn is a deeply troubled young man. He is manipulative, and hides a violent and destructive temper behind a facade of charm and ease. He demands control. And when he doesn’t get his way, well… he can react with force. In his current role as Security, you can understand my concern.” and he paused for the words to be absorbed.

“I have ordered him to regular anger management sessions with me. These are not voluntary, and they cannot be missed. I wanted you to know that he will have these appointments, so you can plan your duty schedule accordingly.” and then he looked at Captain Knight.

“Captain, I recommend that Mr. Flynn be kept from all critical areas. His security clearance should be tagged as well. Now, I would like both of your thoughts on the matter.”

She frowned. The small action made her suddenly look more vicious and dangerous than any other single action could. She let the Captain read the report. “Perhaps keeping him close. Armory inspections, things like that, may be prudent for a while as well. No need to issue a weapon in there and inspections mostly consist of locker control inspections on the ship. Meaning he opens a panel, takes a count and closes it. All weapons are alarm set to notify me if ever removed. So he can’t just absently grab one. And I’ll pair him with someone strong enough to take control of need be.”

Another thought occurred to her. “Perhaps I’ll suggest sparring lessons with me as well. Easy enough to turn those to meditative lessons as well. See if I can get him to open up and confront the anger.”

What really troubled her that while there was a footnote that someone suspected ‘something not right’ in him at the Academy, he had managed to hide it all this time. The fact Sinclair had sussed it out both intrigued and frightened her. What would he draw out her in time?

Pushing the thought aside, she glanced to the Captain.
