Sinclair pondered a moment and said “Sure. When do you normally spar on the holodeck? I can set up a training simulation, and then we can either play or watch a classic match, your call.”

Sinclair, CNS

The fact he didn’t laugh more at her, actually made her feel better. “I usually practice after second shift change in evening. Most folks are down for the night and the holos are easier to access. And I think I’d like to see a game before trying to play it.” She smiled and relaxed once more. Her eyes narrowed a moment and she slipped a hand to steal another morsel off one of his plates.

Sinclair nodded and said “Game watching it is. I have the perfect one. Old match, late twentieth century. Ireland versus England.” and he looked out the window as if remebering it. “I’m gonna spoil it a bit for you, though. England was favored by thirty-six points. They didn’t cover that. ” and he chuckled. As she reached for the morsel, a flash of a hand put his fork upright on the table directly in her path. Looking back at her he grinned and moved the fork. “You are gonna have to do better than that, Chief.” and he slid the plate a bit closer. “Try the bangers. The replicator actually does them ok.” and he handed her a fork.

Sinclair, CNS

Sha smiled and laughed. “Spoilers? I never pegged you for a naughty man.” She tsked him as she took the offered fork and tried the offered banger, setting it on her plate and handing the fork back. “But I should have guessed. Being the one who has to evaluate the misbehaving masses… surely you couldn’t stay a goody goody for too long.” She laughed and used her own fork and knife to slice into the sausage and take a bite. “Mmmmm this ‘is’ fairly good. I’m impressed. Perhaps I’ll get you to program my replicator for it. Course, that would mean dinner at my place some time. Just to be sure it’s made right.” She laughed and took another bite. “And perhaps we can watch that game while we test it.”

Sinclair took a drink, his bright blue eyes looking over the rim of the glass at her and he smiled a bit. Setting down the glass, he kept his gaze on her and the smile broadened slightly. “You asking me out, Chief? Pretty bold… coming onto the Counselor and all.”

Sinclair, CNS

Sha took another bite of sausage and shook her head. “No, Sir… of course not. That would be bold.” She laughed slightly. “I was merely thinking it would be prudent and a time savor. To program the replicator the same time we watch the competition. Rather than troubling you for two seperate visits or making time twice to spend time with me.” She tilted her head and raised an eyebrow in a ‘your turn’ kind of look as she popped the last bite of the banger into her mouth and licked her lips. While the Klingon in her would have challenged him in battle in the storage bay to get his attention, the human half of her was more intrigued by his witty banter. Keeping up with him was proving more amusing than she first thought and was as pleasant as a good duel.

Though she wouldn’t admit that to him unless he pried it from her.

Sinclair looked at her with a grin and said “Fair enough. I find your reasoning sound… although I question your motives.” he said conspiratorially and with a soft laugh. “You pick the time, and I will bring the match. Although I have to say… you are gonna miss out on a lot of the action if we aren’t seeing it first hand. Not the best way to experience rugby for the first time, but at least the food will be good, right?” he said with cocked eyebrow of his own.

Sinclair, CNS

“If the replicators behave… of course.” She laughed and smiled. “And I have no motives. Klingons always have sound reasoning, as well.” She nodded as if that was the end of the discussion. “And I am sure at some point you will find some ‘ulterior motive’ to get me to a holodeck program to experience a true game… yes?” She raised a curious eyebrow and it made her look both curious and menacing at the same time. She was nearly done with her lunch and was picking at her dessert but was as full as she thought she could get at this point.

Royal laughed and said “The only ulterior motive I would have is to see how a Klingon would look at rugby. I have a feeling you are going to like it.” and he ate the last bite of his meal. Washing it down, he said “So. What now? Or do you have to get back to work?”

Sinclair, CNS

She laughed at his suggestion of her playing rugby. “If it’s violent enough, I imagine I could figure it out. I was introduced to polo a few years ago. The horses were definitely not battle trained. It was not a pleasant experience.” She managed to smile a bit and leaned back as he finished his meal. “I am not due back in till morning. I made sure, just in case we ended up in a spar.” She looked at him and cocked her head a bit.

“I hope I am not keeping you from pressing appointments. I doubt I would sleep well thinking some crewman needed your attentions more right now.” The words, while slightly teasing, were more than sincere. She was horrible at flirting. Her father was Klingon, his idea of how to get a companion, or ‘mate’ in his words, were a far cry from what was considered ‘acceptable’ by human terms. And her mother thought her smile would land her any man she wanted so taught her nothing. It was at times like this where her instincts either got her in trouble, or left her abandoned.
