Sinclair shook his head and said “No. Not until the three of us have had a chance to talk. Now, it is not normal protocol for a mental health professional to discuss a current case, but here I think I have to make an exception.” and he pulled up his assessment of Flynn and handed it to the Captain. “As Commanding Officer, I will allow you to read the full assessment. To yourself, of course.” and then he turned and looked at Sha.

“Mr. Flynn is a deeply troubled young man. He is manipulative, and hides a violent and destructive temper behind a facade of charm and ease. He demands control. And when he doesn’t get his way, well… he can react with force. In his current role as Security, you can understand my concern.” and he paused for the words to be absorbed.

“I have ordered him to regular anger management sessions with me. These are not voluntary, and they cannot be missed. I wanted you to know that he will have these appointments, so you can plan your duty schedule accordingly.” and then he looked at Captain Knight.

“Captain, I recommend that Mr. Flynn be kept from all critical areas. His security clearance should be tagged as well. Now, I would like both of your thoughts on the matter.”

She frowned. The small action made her suddenly look more vicious and dangerous than any other single action could. She let the Captain read the report. “Perhaps keeping him close. Armory inspections, things like that, may be prudent for a while as well. No need to issue a weapon in there and inspections mostly consist of locker control inspections on the ship. Meaning he opens a panel, takes a count and closes it. All weapons are alarm set to notify me if ever removed. So he can’t just absently grab one. And I’ll pair him with someone strong enough to take control of need be.”

Another thought occurred to her. “Perhaps I’ll suggest sparring lessons with me as well. Easy enough to turn those to meditative lessons as well. See if I can get him to open up and confront the anger.”

What really troubled her that while there was a footnote that someone suspected ‘something not right’ in him at the Academy, he had managed to hide it all this time. The fact Sinclair had sussed it out both intrigued and frightened her. What would he draw out her in time?

Pushing the thought aside, she glanced to the Captain.

Dante listened, then adjusted his seating as he rubbed his fingers over his jaw in thought while he nodded as Sha spoke. “The man graduated the Academy, and so far has managed to serve without getting himself court-marshalled,” he began. “If he had no interest in being an Officer in Starfleet”, he emphasized, “then there are many other places he could be with an attitude with what you describe.” He looked between Sinclair and Triton.

“As an Officer on this ship, he has expectations and a job to perform. I expect you both to do what you believe is right, and for him to carry out his duty professionally and as such, to be treated no different to anybody else. We need to show him trust and that there are in fact expectations, not stick him somewhere that he will grow restless and feel like he is being punished. Unless, Lieutenant Commander,” he looked straight at Sinclair now, “You are going to remove him from that Duty?”
