Sinclair looked at her with a grin and said “Fair enough. I find your reasoning sound… although I question your motives.” he said conspiratorially and with a soft laugh. “You pick the time, and I will bring the match. Although I have to say… you are gonna miss out on a lot of the action if we aren’t seeing it first hand. Not the best way to experience rugby for the first time, but at least the food will be good, right?” he said with cocked eyebrow of his own.

Sinclair, CNS

“If the replicators behave… of course.” She laughed and smiled. “And I have no motives. Klingons always have sound reasoning, as well.” She nodded as if that was the end of the discussion. “And I am sure at some point you will find some ‘ulterior motive’ to get me to a holodeck program to experience a true game… yes?” She raised a curious eyebrow and it made her look both curious and menacing at the same time. She was nearly done with her lunch and was picking at her dessert but was as full as she thought she could get at this point.

Royal laughed and said “The only ulterior motive I would have is to see how a Klingon would look at rugby. I have a feeling you are going to like it.” and he ate the last bite of his meal. Washing it down, he said “So. What now? Or do you have to get back to work?”

Sinclair, CNS

She laughed at his suggestion of her playing rugby. “If it’s violent enough, I imagine I could figure it out. I was introduced to polo a few years ago. The horses were definitely not battle trained. It was not a pleasant experience.” She managed to smile a bit and leaned back as he finished his meal. “I am not due back in till morning. I made sure, just in case we ended up in a spar.” She looked at him and cocked her head a bit.

“I hope I am not keeping you from pressing appointments. I doubt I would sleep well thinking some crewman needed your attentions more right now.” The words, while slightly teasing, were more than sincere. She was horrible at flirting. Her father was Klingon, his idea of how to get a companion, or ‘mate’ in his words, were a far cry from what was considered ‘acceptable’ by human terms. And her mother thought her smile would land her any man she wanted so taught her nothing. It was at times like this where her instincts either got her in trouble, or left her abandoned.

Sinclair shook his head. “Nope, no appointments. But I do have a pretty severe backlog of reports to file. This ship has been without a Counselor for a while, so there is a lot of catching up to do.” he replied. “Now, that isn’t to say that I can’t make some time later this evening. But I would have to ask that you come to my quarters. We can watch rugby, eat, and I can keep unpacking a bit as well. Multi-tasking… the killer of all social interactions.” and he chuckled. “Or we can simply postpone until I have managed to get settled. Entirely up to you.”

Sinclair, CNS

Sha laughed. “Are you asking me out on a date, Councellor?” She laughed and held her hand up to stall his answer. “No worries. I’m more than happy to help you unpack. As for eating, hope your replicator makes decent, what did you call them… Bangers?” She laughed and nodded to him. “If you are busy this evening, that is fine. I didn’t expect you to spend every free rotation with me today, honest. Though I am glad we spent this time together. Who knew you could have fun with someone and not have to go to medical afterwards.” She winked, though her contoured face made it look almost comical.

Sinclair laughed and said “If that is a measurement of social success for you, you really need to get out more!” and he looked at the empty plates and and glasses. “Tell you what, come by tonight… say… eight? I’ll have the game cued up and we’ll try out the replicator. That work for you?”

Sinclair, CNS

Sinclair’s laugh received a slightly muted echo of one from Sha. “I suppose you are right. Eight sounds fine. You get to your reports,” she nodded her head towards the door, “I’ll clean up here. You’re the one with work to do. And Sinclair,” she smiled and this time it was a look few, if any, had ever been granted from her, “Thank you. I’ve enjoyed this.”

Without another word, she stood up with a handful of the plates and walked away from the table. His comment had hit a nerve. It was true, that she hadn’t gotten out much. At the last station refit, the Captain had had lock her out of the ship’s systems to keep her off the ship and off the duty roster for a few days. Perhaps throwing herself into her duties wasn’t the good thing she thought it was.
